Tableau Ratings and Reviews
The evening started off great, our beverage server was wonderful. The waiter started off well explaining dishes and ensuring allergies weren't a problem, however he never came back to check after the dishes were provided. The food was good quite good overall, however, the crab appetizer I ordered had so much cartilage in it, I had to try to pull it apart to not choke on it; when I told the waiter when he finally showed up near at the end of the main meal, he did not respond at all. Not what I would expect of this 'supposed caliber' of restaurant...very disappointing.
My husband and I visited New Orleans to celebrate our birthdays. We started with a cocktail at the bar. The bar was very pretty.
We enjoyed the French Onion Soup and the Shrimp dish was amazing !! We will definitely go again next time we are in town. Our waiter as wonderful too!!
Went on a Sunday night. Many open tables, yet it took 10-15 minutes for us to be seated (after our reservation time). Waitress probably said 25 words total to us. Food was very good--had tuna, and my wife had the Chicken Tableau, which was delicious. Disappointed in the service, though, especially for such a nice restaurant.
Nice atmosphere with a jazz band playing during brunch. Service was poor from the start and did not improve even after we had to ask for attention. Many of the food and drink orders were wrong or never delivered. Most of the food arrived cold or undercooked. Disappointing for a place that was highly recommended
Our reservation was for 7:45 and we were not seated until 8:15. They kept telling us they were cleaning off a table and it would only be a few minutes. Once we were seated, our waiter was not very friendly and did not seem to care that we were there to enjoy a nice meal. I did love my entrée, but not the service.
Visited Tableau last year and was blown away by the quality of the food and the service.
A year later and I’m delighted to say that it was even better than last year.
The atmosphere, the extremely attentive and friendly staff and the amazing food and wine all contributed to an overall fantastic experience and a wonderful birthday celebration.
We sat on the balcony on a really nice night with a great view of the street. The filet and chicken tableau were delicious as well as the drinks. The staff was very friendly. The service started out slow but then everything turned around they were right on top of everything. We had a great time and will visit again on our next trip to New Orleans.
Went to Tableau on a whim when in New Orleans, because it had good reviews. It was... okay. Started with corn and crab soup, it tasted okay but wasn't at all what I was expecting. No pieces of discernible corn or crab, it was a brown puree, with a little spice to it. Also got the truffled crab claws because we are big fans of the ones at Redfish Grill. They came cold, which was surprising, but I tried to keep an open mind. The crab was fresh but the sauce tasted like salad dressing and ruined the whole dish. I got the shrimp poboy for dinner. It was tasty, the shrimp was fried well, which is really all the matters. The sandwich and table bread were very soft and fluffy. Didn't have that crusty exterior you want. Tasted like a buy and bake bread you could get at a supermarket. Our drinks were delicious but came after we had finished our appetizers. It was confusing because many servers came and apologize for our late drinks, but they still took 45 mins. There weren't many people in the restaurant and if they knew our drinks were late why didn't they just go back and make them?
Overall okay. If you can sit on the balcony and get drinks and apps it might be more fun. Don't expect the best food in New Orleans.
We had reservations on crazy Halloween weekend, so I’m sure the noise level was much higher than usual! GREAT ambiance, and overall the food was excellent. I was excited that there was a vegetarian option on the menu; that can be hard in NOLA. Unfortunately, the “cauliflower steak” didn’t measure up to the rest of the entrees that were served. It was FAR too spicy for me, and rock hard and dry. I ignored it and ate the rest of the entree, but if you’re going to charge for an entree instead of a side, the main part of the meal should be up to the standards of all other meals.
Everyone else loved theirs, and we’ll certainly go again!
Went here for brunch. It was just ok. We got the appetizer sampler. The crab claws were tasty. The shrimp remoulade was so so. Same with the other crab dish. The benedicts were also just okay. I had the one with steak and my boyfriend had the one with boudin. The eggs and the steak were lukewarm. Service was fine but they can keep that tuba band. Beautiful space but has no soul
Loved this place! It was our second choice and so glad we decided to dine here. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They gave great recommendations and were so attentive. I didn’t even have to get their attention when my drink was getting low. They were on it! The red fish was sooooo delicious! My only regret is that I was too full to try a dessert. I only had 1 night in New Orleans and so glad I spent my evening in this warm, inviting and great place! A must try!
