Located in the heart of the French Quarter, on the corner of Jackson Square, Tableau is Dickie Brennan's latest production and features Louisiana Creole dishes prepared by talented chef, John Martin and his equally talented culinary team. Look for traditional Creole dishes with an updated approach. Enjoy courtyard dining, as well as balcony dining with some of the best views in the Quarter.
Brunch was great. Service was superb. Love the location. Staff was super nice. Our waitress, Sam, was amazing *.
Menu was not as good as last year. The ribeye I ordered last year wasn't available this year. Oysters weren't as good either.
Great service and excellent food. The location near Jackson Square is real convenient
Another great experience at Tableau! This time we we started with a couple of great cocktails at the bar before being seated. We enjoyed tasting through the starter menu starting with the Demi Royale, then Brown Butter Gnocchi, Creole French Onion Soup and the always delicious Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee. Great service as always, see you next trip Tableau.
Great service, drinks and food. Brunch Veal and shrimp special entree excellent!
We had Brunch at Tableau and were able to sit outside on the upstairs balcony overlooking Jackson Square. The view alone was worth going to Tableau...but they had a lovely Brunch. We started with the Demi Royale which was a trio of the Crabmeat Ravigote, Shrimp Remoulade, and Truffled Crab Fingers. It was a really nice tasting of all 3 dishes. My husband had the Veal Grillades and Grits which was delicious but with the grits being the majority of the dish. I had the Cochon de Lait Benedict which was a Creole version of Eggs Benedict and it was great. The service was a little slow but to be fair we were there on the weekend before Mardi Gras and everything was very crowded and I think the servers were doing their best to keep up. I would definitely recommend this for Brunch - ask for the balcony and you'll have great entertainment to go along with your meal!
Great service, fun afternoon, great food. We had a great time.
First time here. Came for my birthday brunch with a few friends. Unlimited mimosas. Great service. Food was incredible. I would highly recommend to anyone !! The manager was absolutely great she's super friendly, accommodating & made sure everything was good. We licked our plates clean and the servers were very attentive. I will definitely be back ! I am amazed !
Extremely great cuisine and service!!!!
Excellent service and staff. Knowledgeable about the local cuisine. Absolutely a must go Place!
The food was excellent and our overall experience was great. The only awkward moment happened after we ordered several appetizers. There was clearly not enough room on the table, so I asked the lead who was instructing the servers on where to place the plates to remove my water to make space. He refused and proceeded to lecture me on the importance of water. Then, put my wine glass on a plate, making it extremely wobbly and ready to tip. Strange behavior really . . . but one of the things I remember the most. Oh - and you need to try the Spinnaker.
We had a lovely experience at this restaurant where we had dined previously on trips to New Orleans. Our only complaint was that the pork entree was a bit more dry than it should have been. The sweet potato casserole was outstanding!!!
Always our first stop for turtle soup for lunch when arriving in New Orleans.
We went here while visiting and we were recommended this place. We have been getting great service so far in New Orleans but this particular experience was all about bad service. The assistant sever seemed really out of it and not professional and our actual sever was nice but kept forgetting about things. I would say that food was good but not the best we had there. There are better places but it's a nice ambiance overall.
The epitome of New Orleans. A great evening with my husband and 8 year old daughter. We sat near an open door and listened to jazz coming from the square. Our food was delicious. A great experience.
Excellent service, food, location and ambience.
We sat outside on the balcony it was the perfect flavor of New Orleans!
Absolutely wonderful! We enjoyed a couple cocktails at the bar downstairs before dinner. Seating upstairs was quaint and the service from Gabriel and the team was stellar!!
The redfish cheesecake is divine, a must have. The French onion soup is out of this world.
Have fun and splurge!!
Great service and great food!
Poor service. Obvious mistake on bill. Only bus boy seemed to care if we enjoyed our experience. For your prices, I expected better.
We had a great 21st birthday lunch.
My husband and I had an incredible dinner before attending the performance at Le Petit Theatre. The staff was very sensitive to our time constraint. Our meal was served in a timely manner with enough time to have an exquisite dessert! I had the roasted gulf fish in a delicious sauce. Outstanding! My husband had the filet which was cooked perfectly with an amazing sauce. We love Tableau and will return for dinner whenever we attend the theater.
All was great, except the service.... waiter was def not present. We had two waiters and neither was much interested in our dining experience.
Very pleased with our evening at Tableau! Creative dishes served in an inviting and elegant space. Our servers were knowledgeable and authentic. The desserts were fantastic. A wonderful dining experience!
Tableau was definitely serviceable. And the food was okay, but my guest and I were left unimpressed, especially for the price. My favorite part was the homemade butter. The venue, though, is very nice and I enjoy that area immensely. But the food isn't good enough (especially for the price) to return.
A Before Theater Sunday Brunch at Tableau was terrific!
Great food, excellent service. Spicy Bloody Mary.
Jazz trio at brunch. Top Notch 👍
This was our second visit to this amazing restaurant. The food was outstanding to say the least. Every employee in the restaurant from the person whom I contacted to make the reservation, to our entire wait staff, made us feel special and very much appreciated. We will definitely return.
Always a great place to eat, whether it's brunch, lunch or dinner..or just drinks. Awesome location.
Completely ignored. Dirty plates sat in front of us forever. Pre-theatre took 90 minutes and only because we tackled the server and management repeatedly. Could have taken longer. They were apologetic I. The end but offered nothing.
Amazing!!! Went for dinner after our NOLA elopement and everything was absolutely amazing...our serving team the best we have ever had!! The food is delicious, the service is incredible, the building is beautiful, staff is very attentive, everything they recommended was perfect!!! Five stars!!!
Food was excellent
Had to wait for drinks
One drink never showed
Had to ask for refills instead of being offered
No one came to check on us
Not a restaurant I would return to
It exceeded expectations! We had company in town and were celebrating a birthday - staff was excellent, food was excellent.
Food was pretty good. We are New Orleans natives, so have eaten lots of places. Waiter was rushed and reading the specials off of a paper REAL fast, he kept looking away as if he had better things to do......On top of his breath being real bad. I asked if we could sit on the balcony and was looked at like that was a ridiculous request. My husband did say the bbq shrimp was one of the best he’s had, and my fish dish was nicely executed. So the food is the reason for my 3 stars. I can also say, their was a supervisor near at all times, and he was very polite and attentive.
Very good service. We were attending Le Petit Theatre and they had a special menu. Great time.
Loved it. Will return. Wait staff very nice. Enjoyed a lovely dinner
Our bar server was great fun but talked too much.
You just can't go wrong with Tableau! Brunch is amazing! I highly recommend the VEAL GRILLADES AND GRITS and the COCHON DE LAIT BENEDICT :)
I absolutely love this restaurant. They are so understanding and able to accommodate my food allergies; it makes me feel very safe eating out. Dining in New Orleans with a shellfish allergy can be very difficult but I've eaten safely at this restaurant many times. Great service, the wait staff is always very friendly, food & drinks are fantastic & worth the price!
This block of Chartres is becoming our favorite for dining: Doris, Sylvain, and now Tableau.
Delicious meal, we were ready to eat here again as soon as we finished our meal: Hot & crispy Leidenheimer french bread service, great Cab Franc by the glass, delicious truffle crab claws, decadent smoked redfish cheesecake, and a divine truffled mushroom risotto. The risotto was undercooked (more of the texture of a rice and gravy) but the flavor was so good and the mushrooms were perfectly crispy we kept eating-that’s saying a lot.
The interior was open and spacious, but felt intimate and quiet at the tables-perfect for date night. They were out of the charcuterie service but we hope to sample on our next visit. Waitstaff was wonderful. We’ve walked by this restaurant many times and finally made it in. Overall, a great restaurant experience for us.
