Table & Main Ratings and Reviews
First time dining. Brought the wifey for a 6p dinner.
A 3 or 4 bedroom house converted into a restaurant, the atmosphere was homey and romantic. Dimly lit, the dining room is tucked back away from the bar area out front. Service was excellent. Asked waitress about menu items and she detailed everything well. We ordered drinks and they came out quickly. I got a draft beer and wifey got a cocktail (which was much to her satisfaction). They have a seasonal menu which changes 4 times per year. We decided to try a couple of the seasonal items:
Blue Crab Dip w/ Old Bay homemade chips (3.5*)
-Crab dip was good. Lots of flavor. There was a distinct caramelized onion flavor throughout the dip though, which took some flavor away from the blue crab. It was good, but we’d try something different next time.
Fried catfish w/ greens and Incan corn (4*)
-Despite going against recommendation from the waitress and just about every table around us ordering the Fried Chicken entree, we decided to split the fried catfish entree and it was great. The catfish was lightly breaded and fried perfectly. Crispy outside and flaky inside. This dish had lots of flavor. The catfish was over a bed of sautéed greens and incan sweet corn. This dish was pretty heavy. We were glad we split it because it was plenty to keep us both satisfied. But what’s dinner without tasting some dessert options?
Banana pudding (4*)
Banana pudding was very good. Would order it again. Sliced banana and pudding served in a small mason jar was just enough for a nightcap.
Brown butter cake (3*)
-This dish served in a small plate. A donut sized piece of brown butter cake topped with finely sliced apple and vanilla ice cream, with a side of cinnamon sugar granola bits. It was good. Rating it a 3* out of 5 because honestly, it sounded much better than it tasted. We both enjoyed the banana pudding better.
Overall, we liked this place. Will definitely be making another reservation soon!
The meal for the four of us included a starter of the small muffins and butter. They were delicious and not so filling as to ruin our appetites. Three of us ordered the fried chicken and one the catfish. I thought the chicken was the absolute best I’ve ever eaten and I love fried chicken. It was moist, tasty, tender, and with a light crispy outside. I ordered mac and cheese as my side and it was light and just cheesy enough. My wife ordered the beets, not my favorite veggie, and she said they were outstanding. She also said the catfish was excellent. The service was attentive without being pushy and the food came out quickly. We will go back again.
Birthday dinner for my fiancé and her son. Hogs 'n quilts appetizer were fabulous. Roasted garlic mashed potatoes were some of the best ever. Collard greens too were outstanding as was the mac 'n cheese. Fried chicken was moist and tender; couldn't tell it was fried. Smoked pork chop, asked for medium rare and it was spot on delicious. The outdoor dining area looks interesting enough to want to come back for outside dining once the weather warms a bit more. All in all, one of the best dining events we've had in quite some time. Highly recommended.
Wife and I had a date night here on a Monday night. Had the meat and cheese board to start and shared an order of fried chicken. Meal was absolutely delicious. Cannot complement our server Madison enough. She took her time to walk us through the menu, knew when to check on us and when to let us just enjoy the dinner and conversation. This is a gem of a restaurant in downtown Roswell and we will certainly be back.
Delicious food and outstanding service. The vegetable sides stole the show! I'll just get the veggie plate nexr time - so many yummy side dishes to choose from - including the daily selections. We'll likely request the front room or bar seating in the future. Main dining room is quite small and feels a bit crowded.
Table and Main is always an excellent choice. We went for Roswell Restaurant week & loved our selections from their normal menu. She crab soup & Flash fried Kale salad were both delicious starters then onto their famous crispy fried chicken and shrimp & grits. Love this restaurant.
We went for Roswell Restaurant Week and tried their prix fixe menu. The she-crab soup was spectacular and the fried chicken was crispy and moist, just as it should be. Our server, Morgan, was awesome and the signature cocktails were expertly crafted, courtesy of Neil, the mixologist. Overall a great experience and I’ll definitely be back.
2 of us went for Roswell Restaurant week. Had been in the summer time and enjoyed the patio but hadn't been in the inside dining area. Our server was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, but also unobtrusive. The RW menu was full of rich goodies, like a crispy kale salad, their dreamy she-crab soup, the luxuriously moist and huge portion of fried chicken and a deep dark chocolate pudding and bourbon butter pecan ice cream for dessert. Not a diet-friendly meal, but definitely a comforting one in January!
We dined at Table and Main for Roswell Restaurant Week. We love the consistency of Table and Main! Our food was excellent - though I think they could have added another ladle of shrimp sauce on the grits . My husband’s meal seemed sparse compared to my fried chicken. Overall, we enjoyed our evening!
Excellent service and very friendly staff. Reserved table for anniversary and they had table waiting and acknowledgement of our special dinner with a note which was a nice personal touch. Dinner was outstanding - we shared fried chicken & veggie plate. Veggies were delicious and sourced from local farms (like martin’s gardens right around the the corner). This is a charming, cozy restaurant that is always good to go to!
We went to Table & Main after hearing good things about it. After our cornbread appetizer, I had the shrimp and grits, two others had the fried chicken. These dishes are staples of the restaurant and were recommended to us. We all agreed the food was ok but really nothing special. They give you a generous 1/2 chicken but the shrimp and grits was a bit skimpy. We all agreed the chicken, while good was not as good as Publix fried chicken. The shrimp and grits were just average. The cornbread appetizer was $9 and had 9 mini cornbread muffins which tasted good but should have been included with the meal honestly. Not worth the money.
I will say our server was excellent and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. But we all agreed that the food was not worthy of the prices they charge, therefore not a good overall dining value.
It was my dad’s birthday, and we were celebrating. Because we were a party of 8, we were in the center of the house (which I knew when I booked the reservation). It is busy with wait staff moving in and out but they were very professional so it wasn’t too distracting. We had the “room” to ourselves so that was nice. Some of us could see into the kitchen but again not too distracting. Our server was excellent. She was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was delicious. All in all, a great way to celebrate!
