Oval Bar where customers can enjoy the extensive beer, wine and cocktail selection.
This was our first visit to this restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful food.
Good was excellent, service was great. There were a couple of parties of 6-8 people, which made it a bit loud in the room. I would definitely eat there again.
Food was delicious, ambience great. Service all great. Would recommend this place to anyone. Beautiful neighborhood gem. I loved my night there with my family and friends.
Great food and service! My only comment to the restaurant would be to keep OpenTable in sync with changes in hours for private functions.... so if you make a reservation online you might want to call and check!
My friend and I went Friday night and it was surprisingly quiet but it is summertime, we had a cocktail at the bar then were seated for dinner. Our waitress Terry was terrific very knowledgeable and attentive and we were never rushed. Our food was delicious hot and well seasoned and large portions. It's a delightful local restaurant and I look forward to returning soon.
Went to celebrate the birthday of 2 friends. We were a party of 4 on a Saturday evening. The service was attentive. The food was delicious. The restaurant appears to have been recently renovated or just very well maintained. It’s very easy to get comfortable in a setting with good ambiance, food and drink. We ended up staying until close without realizing. I would definitely go back and recommend it for special occasions as well as more intimate meals and gatherings.
Excellent!!!! We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was perfect. The room was so nice and the staff was great...lots of knowledge of the menu. We ordered the Thai calamari and the Thai dumplings..both excellent. The lab chops were cooked to perfection. I would highly suggest Table 7!!
Our meals were delicious, the ambiance was cozy and quiet, and we had great service by Rene!
Nice place; attractive interior. Menu was ecclectic with a nod to the former German establishment that it was. I never have German food but opted for the Weinerschnitzel special and it was very well prepared. My husband enjoyed his short ribs - really nicely plated as was our son's chicken with a mustard cream sauce. Service was friendly, attentive but low-key. Prices were reasonable. We will go there again.
The chef changed, all the amazing dishes has been removed, chicken doesn't taste good at all.
The bar was so pretty when I walked in. Then I saw how filthy it was. Service was slow. Food was good but not fresh. Calamari that had good reviews was definitely previously frozen. Tomato and lettuce on burger also not fresh at all. However burger steak and chicken was good. I would rush back but I would eat there if there was no place else. Also a bit pricey!!
The grilled lamb chops and steak au poivre were excellent. So was the fried calamari appetizer. Would definitely go again to try other dinner entrees. Service was excellent and friendly
Having been to other restaurants at the Inn at New Hyde Park i expected a more lively experience. There was no one at the Hostess Station and people behind the bar just ignored us. Considering it was a Saturday evening the place was quiet, so no hostess, no attention from the bartendars and no one around the restaurant we thought we were in the wrong place. We were in right place but there was only one other table occupied and no one else came the entire time we were there. It was Memorial Day weekend but i had trouble getting a reservation in other places so not sure why no one else was at Table 7. Waaiter was a bit strange but pleasant and efficient, food wasn't bad but not great. Fried Calamari was close to the best i have eaten, scallops were delicious, mushroom risotto was yellow rice with mushrooms and some grated cheese on top. Dessert menu was limited with our choice of vanilla gelato not great. Prices wwre reasonable for the portions but not sure i would go back.
Second time in a month my wife and I made a reservation which was canceled. The first time we received a call from the restaurant but the second time we were never informed and when we arrived were turned away because a private party was booked. We were told that we should not use open table because no ones checking that site at the restaurant. We were also told there is no manager of the restaurant. It’s really sad because we were married at The Inn 9 years ago and have been celebrating our anniversary there every year. This would be our first meal there as Table 7. Will likely try again because the place has so much meaning for us but would recommend no one use an app to make a reservation.
Absolutely horrible. We saw people leaving bc they weren’t being served. Never will go again.
The restaurant is pretty. I will give it that and the bar (which was empty) is very nice and could be a great space but the service from beginning to end was non existent. Since this is a restaurant in a catering hall I felt like the party staff had been pulled into the restaurant to handle overflow. Thing is, they take reservations and so knew how many to expect. They seemed completely unprepared for the “rush”. Upon entering there is no obvious hostess station. There was no hostess in sight and the bartender ignored us. So there we stood, in the middle of the empty bar, waiting. When the hostess did finally arrive, she seemed flustered and bothered and didn’t know where to seat us. The restaurant was crowded and has multiple rooms. No drink Order was taken for at least 20 minutes and the waiter didn’t know if the restaurant had sparkling water (which I had seen, but was told was only available for weddings). There was a price fixe menu, as it was restaurant week, making the struggle for service even more inexplicable as there were only 4 Choices for each course.
Each time we asked for something, the waiter disappeared. Overall, it took over an hour to get our food. We each had salmon, which was a decent portion size, moist and tasty.
We didn’t stay for dessert. Can’t say what the regular menu offers as we were only offered the limited price fixe menu.
I made a reservation for 3, and when making the reservation stated, that it was a Birthday celebration for both my boyfriend and his son. Unfortunately, we were greatly disappointed. Our waiter, though nice, did not come over to take our order for almost a half hour, and that was after asking someone to get him over to our table. We did not get any food (including appetizers) for another hour, and that was after complaining about the service. We were told that we would be comped for the sodas and appetizers because of the problems we encountered. Food was barely adequate, and the Birthdays were both ignored. We waited so long for the desserts, that we asked instead to take them home, since they were part of our prix fixed dinners. Three hours for a simple dinner. We will not be back.
Great service. Food was OK. It's a catering hall, so it seemed like we were served the food you would get at a wedding. Good size portions. Seemed a bit salty. Pre dinner cocktails were good. They were having a wedding, so the pounding of the DJ music next door wasn't overly appreciated.
Tried the restaurant week menu and was very satisfied. We started with the chicken dumplings and onion soup. The dumplings were great and the spicy dipping sauce was an added bonus. We had the sauerbraten for dinner. It was a bit too sweet for my husband, but I loved it. The portion size was just right as well. The potato dumplings were only so so. Then we had the cheesecake for dessert. It was a work of art and so scrumptious. We were in a bit of a rush and our server did everything he could to get us out timely. I would definitely recommend Table 7.
The food was terrific and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. The only thing a little disappointing was the service. We were setting the pace of the dinner by constantly pulling the server along. "We're ready to order drinks." "We're ready to order dinner." etc. He was pleasant but seemingly unaware of the normal pace of dining. The decor was inviting and it deserves another mention, the food was terrific. Overall this is a nice place if you don't mind a long dinner.
We never been fans of restaurants attached to hotels, but this was a real pleasant surprise. We went there because of high customer rating, now we know how they earned it. It is a very comfortable and relaxing place. Hosting and service were very conscientious and friendly. How good the service was? Let me put it this way: we received FAR superior service than at David Bouley!!! We were not treated like a couple that just jumped off the “Banana Boat” or got of the last Greyhound from “Missoura” just because we didn’t fall for their high margin offering. Enough said? The food: the appetizer and Dessert were excellent.
We ate here for restaurant week and it was a good value for the $. However, we had an early reservation (5:45) and it seemed they were still getting their act together--once seated we waited almost a half hour for menus and I had to ask for a server.
Its pretty in the main small dining room, and there is a tremendous bar. It gets a little noisy because of the acoustics, but overlooking that, the quality of food was very good. Our server ultimately was very nice and we found out they pulled him from the catering side, and he had never waited tables!! So obviously there were issues with not enough help to take care of the steady crowd during restaurant week. For a restaurant inside a very large catering establishment it was surprising that the service was lacking and slow...those issues should be addressed or though the food is good, people will not return if they are left sitting for a long time with barely a glass of water.
I have only been to Table 7 twice and my first visit was extraordinary. My second visit, not so much. My food (short ribs) was extremely, extremely salty. One of my dinner companions is a NY 5-star Chef and he agreed that my dish was extremely salty. Everyone else seemed to enjoy the food and drinks. My experience continued to be disappointing through dessert. I had crème brulee which was grainy. Everyone else had great desserts. I guess I made poor food choices that evening.
I do not appreciate going to a restaurant and returning my food for something different. I believe a restaurant should do the utmost to give a great food experience which is something diners are paying for.
I was also there when a large wedding party was sampling the food and I wonder if there was more attentiveness towards them.
I do plan on returning in the hopes that the Chef redeems himself/herself because I truly enjoyed my first experience so much.
Horrible service, ordered a Steak medium rare came out well done. Manager no where to be found. To there credit the waiter took the steak off the bill.
The food and the service was horrible, definitely would not recommend to anyone
Good food, beautiful furniture, but the wall decoration are horrible, plastic greenery on the walls and around the door, it would be better maybe pictures on the walls not the fake plastic leaves all bunch up.
My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out. We ordered: calamaris, clams, dumplings and scallops with risotto. The food was horrible, the clams were over cooked, and sauce had not taste. The scallops were old, the risotto had no taste and dumplings were over cooked and dried. The calamaris were ok. I never had such poor food experience. I told the waiter the food was not ok. He noticed we barely touched the food and still charged us. After paying the paying the bill we went to Applebee’s for food.
The food was not up to its usual level even including the bread rolls. It was a big holiday, Valentine's Day but my overall feeling is that they could have tweaked things more. Service was efficient and kitchen had food out immediately with little wait between courses.
The staff is great, beautiful bar and the food was excellent!
There were on four tables full including ours and the two person wait staff couldn't even handle that. The most efficent person there was the guy that kept our water glasses full. The food was very bland and underwhelming. This is a one and done for us.
Was empty but it's a handsome place to hang in this area. Food was generous and didnt disappoint. Will return and try out some other dishes.
I had the bronzini and my husband had the Wienerschnitzel. They were both delicious!
Overall good. Used to be Brasserie 214 but recently changed the name and menu to Table 7 serving American Fare. They have all the classic apps and entrees and they do them well. Not a large dining space and typically quite but can get a bit noisy since the dining area is off a large bar area and the Inn above which hosts weddings and other receptions.
Service is usually very good here and Ambiance is great for a casual date or entertaining a Business guest.
Excellent food, would like to see more specials on the menu
The physical restaurant is attractive. The catering facility is impressive. We sat down for a regular dinner in the restaurant section of the building. It took 10 minutes to get rolls with our butter. The steak was overcooked altho we requested medium-rare meat. The fresh calimari was covered in colorful and syrupy flavors we did not care for. This item was removed from the bill. The service was good and bad,. I do not recommend the restaurant.
Everyone at our table loved their food. Terry our server was fantastic. Overall great experience.
We visited during Restaurant Week. The food was delicious and the service attentive. They have live music on Friday evenings. Seating is also available at the bar. Definitely will visit again.
