Table 13 Ratings and Reviews
Server Mohammed who served us well at another restaurant had left and gone to Table 13 over a year ago and has been encouraging us to come try it but it was out of our usual Uptown/ Park Cities area of Dallas. We were very impressed and happy to try this restaurant. The food was great and the ambiance was good with a live band. The restaurant is not large so you have that cozy feel. It reminded me of places that I would find in the north east.
By far our entire party agreed that this is the Best Food in Dallas. Steaks were cooked to everyone's preference perfectly. Older sophisticated clientele. Service is outstanding
Our favorite restaurant...You will not be disappointed..make reservations to secure a table.
The Calamari starter rates excellent and is at or near the top of the many calamari dishes I have ever eaten. And I eat calamari often.
The Steak Diane (I ordered it rare) was also excellent.
A major drawback of this restaurant (for me at least) was the acoustics. Very loud. The piano player/singer was very good, but people had to talk over him, thus contributing to the excessive noise level. So loud that I could not have a conversation with my dinner companion.
Also, the service was attentive, but at times intrusive. I felt we were being rushed with the waiter hovering around, interrupting us and asking for our order or drinks.
We took our boss here for her birthday! This is one of her fav dining places, so we knew lunch at Table 13 would be very special to her. Our waitress Shamerica was fairly attentive, as was her assistant. Glasses were refreshed as needed; and they were pleasant folks. We didn't feel hurried at all, and just enjoyed each other's company and a delish meal.
Love the ambience here- sort of retro to the supper club era. Wine list is very limited with only one or two non-California wines; martinis are great. I do appreciate that many dishes are gluten free or available as such, including the calamari! Yum! Limited on fish dishes but luckily the sea bass is very good, just would enjoy more wild fish dishes.
I had heard about this place and had a dinner meeting with an out of town client so we decided to try It. The service was a a little slow but the food was very good. The steaks were cooked just right and there was plenty of food for the money.
They had a man playing the piano and singing in the background and the music and sounds of the restaurant were just right for dinner conversation.
This is definitely a place we will go back to.
When I made the reservation, open table said we ONLY had 1.75-2 hours max for our dinner. What??? You’re spending how much? And you’ll be rushed out? Then we arrive. The hostess reminds us instantly that we had to be done with our meal by 7:45 at the latest. Didn’t even offer to check my coat. Then the waiter, after taking our order, stopped by 15 min later to take our order - completely forgetting he already had. But he did remember to remind us...you guessed it...we needed to vacate our booth by 7:45. Instead of a relaxed, enjoyable night out, we were clock watching. And it ruined the entire vibe of the night. The food and drinks were great. The music was wonderful. The service, I could look past. But I paid way too much to NOT be allowed to enjoy it, even though I was done dining well within my allotted timeframe. Expand, relocate...but don’t detract from your customer experience in order to turn tables.
We were there 6 months ago and it was very good-food, service and ambience. But this time the waiter wasn't directing the crew; the food was 30 minutes late and when we told him, he "checked" on it. It took another 10 minutes. The food came out cold and meat was cooked. No one came but ONCE check on our water in the glass. Singer was great and he made the evening tolerable with us drinking wine. Wish you the best but I won't take another chance with you.
We enjoyed the atmosphere. The server was kind. Both of our steaks were very undercooked and had to be sent back. The food was good, once we got our steaks back again. I had read they treat couples special for anniversaries - sometimes a free desert or champagne - but little was mentioned about our anniversary and nothing was offered or complementary. Overall we have a good time and the live music was great.
We had a business dinner with a group of 8. 7 had very nice meals, one had the lamb chops, which were inedibly "gamey" (ie., strong muttony taste). The waiter brought the diner a steak instead, but it took quite a while, like her entree had to wait in line before being prepared. He also charged us for both the steak and the lamb chops, although he did take off the lamb chops when we pointed it out. In my opinion, when a restaurant gives food which is not up to standard, they shouldn't have charged us for the steak, either, especially given the wait for it. The rest of the experience was fine.
My hubby and I went for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Service is impeccable. Lovely decor. The hostess sprinkled our table with pink hearts and our server brought us a complementary bread pudding which we had no problem devouring and I don’t even like bread pudding. Theirs is yummy.
The Escargot was fresh and delicious. The filets were the best steaks we have had in a long time. Cooked to perfection with perfect crust. Kahlua cake and ice cream was a perfect ending to our meal along with the bread pudding. Wine list is good. Drinks are fresh & tasty. Live music is always good. Can’t wait to come back.
Great ambiance as it's not loud so easy to talk. Nice menu selection. Bacon wrapped dates are amazing!! Only issue was my client requested a side of sauce with her meal and never got it. It also took a really long time to get 2 cups of coffee and the check at the end. So although food was good, service seemed to be a little lacking.
We have been there for dinner several times and it is always great! It was the first time for my son and his wife, and they loved it. They really enjoyed the live music, as well as the food.
The owner, Michael was dining the same night and he came to our table to introduce himself and welcome us. That was a very nice touch. Enjoyable evening celebrating my birthday.
Very disappointing. Love the atmosphere and live entertainment at Table 13. Had looked forward to this evening for almost a year since our last visit which was excellent. Our reservation was for 6:45 which they got us right to the table. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer and I told our waiter that we liked to take our time and enjoy each element of our meal. Immediately after bringing the appetizer the waiter was asking us to order. I agreed but was clear not to bring out other items until we had finished each course. And by the way, I would think for an upscale high-price restaurant that they would be a little flexible on their menu. All of their steaks are served with garlic mashed potatoes which I really did not want and ask to substitute for another side. That is not allowed at Table 13. I would have paid extra for it, but it was never offered...only "no, we can't do that. (WOW) Remember I had asked to please not bring out other items until we had finished the first course.... Well, no such luck. The salad came before I could take two bites of the appetizer. I commented to the waiter that I hardly started my appetizer, and I pushed the salad to the side. Less than 10 minutes later, out came the main course. By this time, food was gathering all around our table since we hadn't had a chance to even finish the first course. I also pushed the steak to the side. The manager (I guess) stopped by to ask how everything was, so I told him that I was disappointed that the meal had come out so fast, I hadn't even touched my salad. His response was very surprising. He said, "well that steak looks really good...if I were you, I would pull it over in front of you and start on it..."
For $ 150 for two of us, I know I can find a "fine-dining" restaurant that won't rush you so much and be more accommodating. I felt rushed from the moment we sat down until they were able to rid of us.
Probably will not go back.
One of the best dining experiences we have ever had. Outstanding service, with a personal touch. The salmon meunier is outstanding, the lamb chops were first-rate. Because it was a special occasion, and we indicated so on OpenTable, we ended up with a free dessert, which is an even nicer touch. Definitely a must do place.
