The music was excellent and the antipasti platter was totally different than the norm! We were in our honeymoon and enjoyed the experience completely!
The food was fresh and excellent. The beef cheeks were tender and flavorful. The steak cooked perfectly, and extremely tender. The eggplant appetizer was fresh and lightly crispy. Every morsel on the antipasto plate was delectable.
Our Waiter and the food delivery people were excellent. The bar tender took care of us, but did not seem to appreciate our business. The host was arrogant, and when we showed up with an extra on our reservation, nearly sent us away or has us eat at the bar. There were loads of seats even as we left. It’s not fun to feel like you are LUCKY to get to spend your money at a business.
I’ll go again though- everything else outweighed the petty man at the start.
We had a great meal at Sylvain- it was definitely a place where we could go and NOT feel like tourists. The menu was creative and just southern enough to remind us where we were. I would definitely go back!
Overall had a great meal here - the fish of the day was the real winner on the menu for us. We were a little bummed that they had sold out of a few items by the time our 8:15 reservation rolled around, but we know to book earlier in the evening next time.
Service and food were great but restaurant is a too dark. Be warned, cocktails are are served in deceiving small glasses, but are potent!
Went to Sylvain for a joint birthday and Valentine’s day date with my boyfriend. We enjoyed wonderful cocktails and appetizers and wine with our entrees. The ambiance was perfect. While at first we had the impression the waitstaff was trying to rush us through our evening, they paced everything out well and let us enjoy an after-dinner digestif without feeling hurried. The only downside was that they ran out of the market fish early into the evening as well as one of the other entrees, so be aware of this when timing your reservation.
Always a great meal and wonderful atmosphere, even more so on Mardi Gras day! Thanks for being open and letting us hang there on the Fat.
Everything was perfect - waitress made accommodations for a food allergy and we had a blast.
One of the best lunch spots in Nola
Best meal and dining experience in NOLA this trip.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and food - casual fine dining with excellent cocktails- would definitely return
A typical laid back French Quarter eatery. Good, but nothing special. Maybe a B grade.
Made reservations on line so easy. Biscuit and gravy were awesome. Chicken was excellent and crispy pork shoulder on grits were to die for. We will definitely go there again and recommend to all my friends. Service was excellent and friendly. Great job. Jason was our server.
We were seated immediately, despite being nearly 30 mins late for our reservation (we got stuck behind Mardi Gras floats crossing the Crescent City bridge). The food, cocktails, ambiance, and service were all stellar, as usual. This is one of our favorite dining spots in New Orleans.
Very different and interstellar menu. Meal was outstanding
Ate a late dinner at Sylvain while on vacation with two girlfriends. I am from Vermont, which has a vibrant and delicious food/restaurant culture. Sylvain was on par with any of my favorite restaurants here, with fresh, inventive food, great waitstaff, and tasty cocktails. My favorite meal on our vacation, hands down.
Slyvain has a lovely atmosphere and an exquisite menu. We were not rushed, the food was wonderful and the atmosphere was perfect.
Sylvain is terrific!!! Client-centered staff and team and the very best chicken sandwich ever. Bravo Sylvain!!
Sylvain was one of the best meals I have ever had! The cocktails (creative), the gulf fish crudo appetizer (best ever), and the fresh brussel sprouts made this meal unbelievable.
A must when in NOLA
Great service. Loved the shrimp and little clams. We had the eggplant and burrata appetizer.
Absolutely delicious. The waitress recommended the buffalo sweetbreads and the braised beef cheeks. Definitely order that.
We had a wonderful time! Staff was incredible and the food was great. Also loved the vibe of the place--dimly lit, but happy and energetic. We could have a great conversation and enjoy the people around us as well.
We can always count on Sylvain for a friendly French Quarter experience. The food is always fresh, the service is professional but relaxed and the environment is local French Quarter vibe. For Sunday brunch the menu was small, we opted for the french toast with blueberry compote. Huge slices of brioche was tasty but a bit dry. The additional butter and syrup had our plates clean. The champagne cocktails with Cava and lavender were very tasty. The atmosphere is very loud, but very friendly. We had a reservation, so we got seated immediately ahead of a number of folks waiting. This brunch was not a foodie experience, but the kitchen as well as front of house know how to please with an authentic local vibe along with professional service. We like this place for a casual meal while in the Quarter.
For the most part Sylvain was wonderful, but the music level was way too loud.
We were hoping for the cozy, candlelit meal that we had heard about, but the noise level was
really off-putting. Food was definitely good, and it was cozy and candle-lit... but doubt we will return unless it's earlier in the evening when hopefully we can carry on an intimate conversation.
Great Food and Awesome service. the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Waited an hour and a half for entrees. Watched everyone in the restaurant eat then watched everyone who came in after us eat. Ridiculous. Stay away. Will never ever return and will tell everyone I know to avoid.
The chicken sandwich was cold and rubbery. We had looked forward to the Brussels sprouts salad which was under seasoned. Server lovely and informative about history of the building.
Hidden gem in the middle of the quarter. Sylvain has a great vibe, dim lighting, and excellent service. Cody offered suggestions and assisted with wine pairing. We will definitely be back for champagne and fries.
Good place to celebrate our anniversary. Service was outstanding. Food was delicious. Buttermilk friedchicken was crisy and spicy. Really enjoyed ourmeal.
