Loved this place! What a great little gem in the middle of nowhere. Worth the drive!!! We will definitely be back.
Food was very tasty and staff was very friendly. The prices were a little high for the main entrees but very good. Only other thing was that we couldn't tell our server from another customer. They are dressed in everyday relaxed clothing.
It was great, the service was the best. Kathleen is the best bar tender and waitress we ever had.
Warm and inviting. Great options. Food was well prepared and tasty. Will definite go again
We had a great time here celebrating my Mom’s Birthday
The service was amazing and the food is amazing. Such a nice spot for all occasions and the bar had many options. Fast and great service, overall great!!!
We went for their New Year’s Eve dinner. We were very tightly packed into the restaurant which made it very uncomfortable because the other patrons were practically sitting on top of us. Service was slow. My son who is only 10 ordered an appetizer and soup for his meal. Instead of asking if we would like his soup to come out with our appetizer, they just made him sit and wait until we had our entrée delivered. I did ask the waitress to bring out the soup, she said it was backed up in the kitchen and couldn’t bring it out. Been told that our dinner would be coming out soon she went to walk away & we had to flag her down again in order to get our drinks refilled. I’m not sure if she was just very busy or absent minded however, it was a lackluster experience considering the entrées were all approximately 30 $ through 50 $ and the entire menu ala carte. For that much money you would think that the service would be better, there would be tablecloths on all the tables and that the food would be more flavorful & delicious. Our Filet Tip app was not very good. I have had better at Garlic in the Burg.
great find in the stroudsburg area with live music. and easy to get a table.
Surprisingly nice little place, hidden away in a small town. Nice local ambiance with an upscale bent. Food was very good, the bacon wrapped pork loin was excellent and the caesar salad was very fresh. The twice baked potato was a bit disappointing, but overall a good meal. Wine list was unpretentious but had some nice choices at affordable prices.
Excellent food and service in a very pleasant atmosphere.
Thank you Tom! Hope to see you again soon
Highly recommend. Waited just a few minutes for our table. Wait staff mostly efficient and definitely (though not excessively) friendly. I had the seabass,.which was delicious. Tried their signature salad dressing. My husband had a Buffalo chicken wrap and liked it.
Chocolate cheesecake also good.
Nice atmosphere. Love the old.pictures of the area.
Hostess was rude and ignored the reservation I made by seating multiple families ahead of us even two others without a reservation. I asked if she was going to honor our reservation (made through OpenTable) and her management decided to take her out of helping us. Our server was very nice and tried to make up for this person. Food was average and theme is more Octoberfest/German than the name leads on.
Hi Christian, I'm very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your visit with us. On the date of your visit we were indeed training a new hostess who was trying to her best to accommodate all reservations and walk-ins as we were extremely busy because of our annual Oktoberfest celebration. We did have quite a few German/Oktoberfest offerings for the festivities, but our full regular dinner and pub menu was available as well. Our sincerest apologies that you were disappointed.
A pretty good place for the area. Good service. Food came out hot. Ambience was definitely a plus although might be a little noisy for some. The main issue is that they do not seem to be "Open Table" friendly. They work off a hand written sheet and had to go somewhere else to find our Open Table reservation before they would seat us. However, they corrected the issue. Another plus was their ability to handle gluten free requests.
Good food, nice music, and pleasant staff.
Visited during Labor Day weekend-mid-week. Quiet unassuming setting with New Orleans style decor.
Appetizer was the only good thing here, the service was slow over 2 hours to get our entrees, ordered steak medium and it was overcooked, tough, flavorless, my wifes entrée was the same no flavor and they missed a side order, ran out of lobster tails substituted 2 for the smaller size, food came to the table with only 1 tail after dinner was almost finished they came with the second tail and still forgot the side order, very disorganized, would not go back if I was paid to eat there
We had an excellent dinner with good food and great friends. The beef tips are fork tender and the Elderflower Cosmos delightful.
Great food but service needs serious help. Not sure if the waitress was overwhelmed or was just a poor server. Service was very slow and several items were forgotten. Food was delicious though.
The service was awful the waitress was not friendly it was so bad at the end of the night I wrote on the receipt “ worst service ever please take me off you email list “
Service and food was amazing. The music was incredibly loud and we found ourselves packing our dinners to go mid way due ya not being able to hear ourselves speaking on our date night.
I was very disappointed with my latest visit to the Sycamore Grille. Earlier in the evening, I told my boyfriend I was taking him to what would be his new favorite restaurant. I have always loved this place!
There was a very large party at the restaurant and it appeared as though another party in their banquet facilities. One would expect the service to be slow, but we felt forgotten tucked away in the back corner of the restaurant. I suspect our server was pretty new as it felt awkward when ordering our food and drinks.
I could over look slow/poor service. It happens. What was truly disappointing was our food. To be honest, it seemed as though it was pre-made by a food service or out of a box, like what you would expect from a chain restaurant. It was certainly over priced for what we received.
I will say that the sangria was delicious!
Food all well presented. All meals for the party of 6 were hot and very tasty. Need to let service staff know if you are not in a rush and want some time between courses. Need to add port wine to your wine list. Great desert menu
Excellent service. Drinks refilled as soon as they got low.
The Sycamore salad was good and the Portobello Stack appetizer was amazing but the crab cake entree disappointed. Service was friendly and the space has a really cool vibe. I will definitely return.
Great little place off the beaten path. We've been to this area 5 yrs now and just found it! It was expensive but VERY good. Excellent surf & turf. Service was super. You won't be sorry unless you've never been here.
Our server was Elsie and she was fantastic. Kudos!
Nice atmosphere, food was great, very friendly service, prices were fair
Cinnamon honey whipped butter with hot bread was a terrific start... but we lost some ground after.
Soup du jour was beef w Korean quinoa... but it tasted a bit like Chunky beef. I expected some kick, like kimchi. Not a knock as I appreciate the ambition but this missed the mark.
Bacon pork tenderloin was heavy on the salt but tasty.
This place no doubt does a great job on standard pub fare. I hope that they can successfully expand the menu.
Pleasant atmosphere and very friendly staff.
the steaks were as tough as leather. had trouble cutting it with a steak knife. little attention from server.
We enjoyed dinner at the Sycamore Grille while visiting the area on a Saturday night. Luckily, we arrived in between large parties and enjoyed great service and a well-timed meal- some other patrons weren't as lucky. The menu has a nice selection of appetizers and entrees ranging from pub fare to fine dining selections. We ordered the shrimp cocktail (perfectly cooked, nicely chilled), a wedge salad (good but drenched in a vinaigrette, which was unexpected!), the house specialty french onion soup- good but not outstanding. The broth lacked flavor. For dinner we selected the sea bass (perfectly cooked but heavy handed on flour dredge) accompanied by a sauteed spinach which was spot on and creamed corn, which had too much cream. The prime rib was nicely prepared, but possibly marinaded in something unusual, as the taste was a bit off. The dish was accompanied with standard vegetables. For the area, it's a nice find, but not competitive with a similar price point/menu found in a more urban setting. Not sure we'd choose it again on a return visit.
We were pleasantly surprised that the food was so good. Service was very quick. In fact we got our food much quicker than I expected. Our usual restaurant was booked so we decided to try a new one and were very happy with it. We will be back next time we are in town.
It was a nice unexpected find. When traveling I looked for a nearby restaurant booked and the food was delicious. They had live music which was nice for a Friday night.
Food and service were fine. Noise level was too high to carry on a normal conversation.
Birthday and Easter. Our dinner was perfect!
Not the first time there. Service was great. Thanks Melaina!
Food was very good but it could use an update.
My girlfriend and I come up here every year for our anniversary. We love the town the restaurant is great good food and service, live music on fridays and family friendly also. The old sycamore tree out back is amazing hence the name of the place. We love it and always go back plus the hiking on Appalachian trail doesn't hurt lots to do in the gap. In
Love the bang bang shrimp. Both had salads. Band on Friday nights
Food was very good. Service and value were average for a higher end restaurant. However, the place was overly loud. the 2 story ceilings mean that the sound reverberates throughout the building, so even if it isn't really crowded, the overall volume in the restaurant is loud. I'd definitely go again.
Our service was great and the food was really good. The only exception was that someone specifically asked not to have the sauce that came on their food, and it was on there. It was a bit noisy due to larger parties. Perhaps they should be in a separate area vs. the tables for 2 or 4 pool. We love it there and will be going back again!
Good Food, Great Service and Enjoyable Entertainment
