This place never disappoints. I would recommend the snapper escoveitch and the most delicious gluten free tiramisu.
Limited menu but a good one. Great food. Place to spend several hours. Quaint and friendly.
Second time visiting and spot on again! We all had different dishes with wine that were delicious! We all tasted each other’s meals and no one had a negative thing to say.
Mike was amazing from the get go and the food was simply extraordinary. We will definitely be going back.
Small, low key. Personal service.
Our first time at this hidden gem was a fantastic experience. Mike was very personable and really cares that your absolutely happy with all that you order. His wife, Judith creates some amazing dishes! Can’t wait for our next visit
Service wonderful as is food. when you go there, try the charcuterie platter...it's a winner!
I can’t say enough good things about our dining experience there tonight. The food was incredible! Everything was so delicious and flavorful! Mike the owner was a so nice and friendly! We will definitely be back soon!! A hidden gem in Coconut Creek! Please try, you will not regret it!!
What a great surprise! The food and the service were outstanding! I can’t wait to go back.
A great little surprise. When you approach the building you don't expect what you get. The food and service was incredible. The chef's attitude toward serving only the best is clear from your choice of wine through to your choice of dessert. There is a lot of heart and you can tell. I will definitely be returning.
This restaurant is absolutely a hidden gem. The food was absolutely incredible. The owner/operator was amazing. If I had to describe the feeling I had while sitting there, it was like being at a family member’s house...and that family member makes amazing food. We sat and talked and enjoyed every moment. We will definitely return.
This was our first visit from out of town based on an Open Table rating and other reviews. A small neighborhood gem that is hard to find in a shopping center that is a turn off. You enter another world once inside. Dark hues and art on the walls, maybe ten tables and a bar at the back with the happiest man alive polishing the glasses. You can tell that this place is the owner's dream and glad to be away from the drudgery of corporate life. Do not misunderstand, Michael is very experienced and well trained in restaurant operations. While Michael runs the front end and pairs the wines with the outrageously good food, his wife, the chef, is the real star. The wines were various and well selected as were the price points. Plenty is available by glass, but after the first one, it makes sense to order up the full bottle. But the food; go for the food. This is a restaurant best experienced in a small group that wants to sample and share numerous dishes. We started with the flat The octopus, which is served two ways, is among the best ever. They first steam it and then grill or saute it, depending on the dish to ensure that it stays moist and not chewy. Mission accomplished. We opted for the octopus flat bread. The crust was crisp, the octopus tasty and hot and the bread never got soggy. The grouper tacos were delicious, with the fish moist and flavorful. So, too, were the pork belly tacos. Our only complaint was the heat was a little too high and that detracted from the flavor of the pork. The duck was a home run with a sauce that demanded attention without interfering with the well prepared meat of the duck. All in all, anytime we are in the area, this is a must destination. Be sure to ask Michael to tell you his story!
This is my fourth time going to Swirl and it never disappoints. The food is always made to order so is very fresh and tasty. Creative combinations that I feel are well worth the wait and the cost. Highly recommended.
What a gem! The food is worth the wait! The wine is superb and reasonably priced. Will go back again and again.
Met a friend for dinner. Service was excellent. The food was very good. We had the eggplant appetizer. And shared the Fish Tacos small restaurant with good ambience.
Very personal restaurant. Small dining cafe with nice wine selection. Want to return to try the oxtail lasagna.
It was OK. The owner/waiter tried to serve 6 people at once. Food came out in 2,1,2,0. Yes, that adds up to five out of six. Food was ok albeit cold. Really tough and tried to like this place but will not come back. Think Waffle House type seating in cheap chairs and tables charging upside pricing.
Fabulous restaurant different from the usual eateries, owned by husband & wife team, she is the highly decorated chef, everything freshly made, don’t be inpatient, great ambience, superb for an enjoyable evening with a few friends
Based on raves to my daughter about the great experiences we had at Swirl.
, she threw my wife and I a surprise 40th anniversary party there. The food was served family style and included our go-to favorites and several entrees that were new to us. As I mentioned in an earlier review, one dish was better than the next, all delicious. The wine selections paired with the food fabulously and everyone enjoyed themselves. Oh yes, forgot to say that Mike closed the restaurant down on a Saturday night for our party! Hospitality is an art!
Almost every review indicates that Swirl is a "Hidden Gem"; I am here to verify both. It is hidden and it is a gem. My wife and I went to dinner there on Friday for the first time based on the reviews in Open Table. It was the first time but won't be the last. Firstly, they honored the reservation(unlike Bonefish Grill in Coral Springs !). Mike, the owner, was friendly and very helpful in explaining the menu and selecting a delicious wine(very knowledgeable). We shared the fish tacos, grilled vegetables and mushroom tart; one more tasty than the other. My wife enjoyed the entire experience so much that she has somehow fit the Swirl in conversations that she has had with everyone she spoke with. Happy wife happy life. Happily looking forward to our return to the Swirl; in short order!
This was an unbelievable find in a very obscure and under developed shopping center. Absolutely worth the trip. The food was outstanding and I am still tasting the cheese tart. Mike welcomed us and told us about the history and vision of the place and I think he’s got it down beautifully. Calm but hip music, lovely comfy setting, and wine by the glass you can’t get at many places! I had a Ribeiro del Duero, and it was perfect with the sea bass. Amazing chef!
This was my 2nd visit back and again, was not disappointed at all. Everything was exquisite! Love the ambiance and the staff. Will be going back in April with my mom when she comes to town!
The husband wife team here are incredible. Consistently putting out great food with carefully thought out flavor profiles. I have been here several times and the food is outstanding. The quantity of food in each plate is more than you works expect from this type of gourmet food.
Definitely a hidden treasure of Broward.
small business with high quality offerings...be patient and enjoy what they have to offer
Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked to order. Loved every bite.
Food and drinks were amazing! Loved the waiter. He gave us great advice pertaining to the menu and was very attentive. Will be back for sure!
Excellent meal. Nestled in a secluded corner of the Lyons Plaza shopping center in Coconut Creek, but well worth the short drive from Parkland. Very intimate dining environment, so best for date night or a low key meal. EXCELLENT food and wine. Well worth menu pricing as portion sizes are generous. Do not be deterred. Such a wonderful little gem. We had the Tuna Poke Martini (has a spice kick to it that makes you pause, but is so delicious that you dig in for more and a “house salad” for appetizers. I put house salad in quotation marks because it wasn’t on the menu but felt like I needed some greens. It was a delectable arugula based salad with diced veggies lightly tossed in a delicious vinergarette with shaved Parmesan. Both were absolutely delicious. We had a grilled Branzino atop s delectable coconut based sauce with veggies and spinach (fish of the day) as well as the filet atop wild mushroom risotto. Both were incredibly delightful and generous portions. This was paired with a wonderful South African red blend that was excellent.
We didn’t have time to try dessert or coffee as we had to jet back home to relieve the babysitter. Only word of advice would be to plan to linger and enjoy yourself. There is only one check working and everything is made to order. So yes, you have to wait, but not obnoxiously long and it is well worth it. Top notch establishment. Very intimate as there are only about 6 -7 tables.
Music was fantastic too if that matters to you! We will be back for sure!
Amazing food and wine great value. Very personable owner! Strongly recommend.
Excellent gourmet food and wine. Definitely will go back.
A hidden gem! Warm, friendly place. Interesting menu options. Great food and well considered wine list with nice choices. Find it for yourself and enjoy.
Amazing dinner! As we walked in my husband was a little apprehensive as it sits in a strip mall and is quite small. It didn’t take long for him to change his mind though. We started with the conch ceviche which was an explosion of flavors in your mouth. We shared the jerk chicken on a bed of mash which was so soft and tasty. The kick of the jerk was toned by the sweetness of the mash. We finished with a bread pudding dessert and we were in heaven. Can’t wait for a return visit.
We had a fantastic dinner. Mike and Judith were the best host and chef!
Strongly recommend to all to have a very special dinner in a wonderful atmosphere.
Hidden gem. Worth the trip even for an east sider. Food world class. Wine sneaky good. Atmosphere inviting. Dont miss this joint!
Quiet tiny place with great menu. Interesting food. Taste great. Will go back
Excellent pulled pork nachos, spicy sea bass, and mushroom tart.
Exceptional food. Great wine pairings. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff
Very nice restaurant tucked away in a Coconut Creek strip. The food was excellent! This is a nice, cozy spot for a date night, which we really enjoyed. We'll be back!
Best conch salad since being in Nassau; also enjoyed sliders and tacos. Definitely elevated. Creme brulee was yummy-really good sugar crust. Hidden gem tucked away in a corner--no signage even--handful of tables, so be sure you make a reservation. Inventive menu, gourmet presentations, friendly staff, delicious food.
Limited menu, food was good. You can make a reservation which is great since it is a very small restaurant. Service was very very slow.
The best kept secret in the Coconut Creek area. The food was authentic, fantastic and presented in an unbelievable artistic display. The owners are friendly and helpful. On our revisit list or sure!
