Everything was to die for!! Overall, great experience!
Great meal and atmosphere at West Loop prices. A good new place to explore. Would recommend for a special occasion and looking for a new place.
One of the best steakhouses in the city. Lobster bisque was prepared tableside, twice baked potato was excellent, steaks were cooked perfectly, and I think my favorite part of the dinner was the butter poached crab add on to the steak and the side of mushrooms were decadent. Really glad we came here for our anniversary, they treated us really well!
We love love love Matt the bartender!!!!!!
We were not rushed out so had a very nice time. Food was good but pricey.
2nd experience at restaurant. Ordered the rib eye it was ok not special to write home about. The sauce made it a little pleasing.
The shrimp was good even though they looked like snails(so small) but they were free which they should be. The whipped potato was good. Then there was the wine Now that was the highlight of the evening.
The only reason I went back this 2nd time was because the valet the 1st gave me someone else's fob. That same still works there even after I complained to upper manangement. I was issued a $200 gift certificate for that error. Still will not ever patronize this establishment again.
Terrific service, great food, great ambiance, rude hostesses.
What a wonderful evening. The service was excellent and very attentive. The craft cocktails & the old fashion cocktail cart is pretty awesome. The steaks were exceptional - we had the rib-eye and it was huge but the star of the evening was the Japanese Wagyu steak. Wow. Not inexpensive but worth it in every mouth watering- melt in your mouth (literally) bite. We tired a bunch of sides by getting 1/2 orders. The winner was the mashed potatoes with a shave of white truffle from Italy on top. The chocolate trolley was a great finale to the fabulous evening. This was a birthday celebration and it as really special evening.
Great steakhouse. Pricey but worth it! Excellent service, the bartender even had Elmer T Lee Bourbon! Hard to find. A go too place if you like quality.
The service was excellent, the ambiance was excellent, the food was very disappointing. I have been to a lot of steak places in Chicago and I was expecting some really great steaks here, but the steaks were mediocre and so were the sides. For this price point, I expected much better! I chose this restaurant because I saw it on "Check Please" and the people were raving about it. The best thing of the night was the appetizer, the "Crispy Rock Shrimp" was delicious, but it went downhill from there. The Tomato and Burrata salad had squishy tomatoes in it which to me, the texture in a salad is just not good. We had the Filet and the New York Strip. The Filet was better, the New York Strip was tough! The mushrooms were ok, the fingerling potatoes were "just ok" For $260, I wish I could have that back and spend it somewhere else and get a memorable meal.
Service was terrible. Server was arrogant. Steaks came out cooked incorrectly and we sent them back to the kitchen. The manager and server were adamant that they’d remake the steaks and cook them properly. The original steaks were returned to our table with the original knife cuts. The only standout front his dinner was beet salad. The only thing management did to try to correct their errors was a small side of mushrooms which we already ordered and dessert. The apple tart was cold and not tasty. We brought a visitor all the way to Japan for this experience and we could not have been more disappointed. It was so expensive for such a poor experience
Food was sub par. Very disappointed
Great service, great food, great drinks. Ambiance is much different than the traditional Chicago steakhouse - much more social.
Bad. Just bad
Our meal was excellent and the service was outstanding. Very attentive and helpful.
We would consider this a special occasion place as it's pricey but very good. We will be back.
I have been in the restaurant industry for 15+ years and this hands down was the best service, food, experience I've ever had at a dinner. The ambiance was amazing. Our server Ben was great and very a-tentative to us. I do not mind paying the price for an awesome experience and meal! Swift & Sons delivered!
Very disappointed. My husband's food was literally just a steak on a plate. My overly priced surf and turf was just some meat and the lobster had a tasteless foam on top. We were sat next to the bar that got crowded and people were literally standing over us. I usually don't take the time to write a bad review, but for a $300 dinner, I was hoping for so much more.
Excellent! Great food and great service the ambiance was very modern and not stuffy like traditional steak restaurants.
Great food and service!
Come here often however ordered a 55 OZ steak from the specials and it was $100 more than the 48OZ on the menu, would have liked a heads up on the price difference when ordering.
Staff is very friendly! Food was great
The service was impeccable, the appetizer, salad and steak courses were near perfect. They missed on a side course (under seasoned and served lukewarm) but it was taken off of our bill.
A big beautiful room and a great bar area make this a festive location.
We will,definitely return.
Great overall experience
Always a great meal here.
Love this restaurant!!
Valet parking available ( $$) , suggest Uber or Lyft . Free parking is little to none because of the life of the community ( Busy ). Reservations will get you prompt service . Service is good and attentive , staff is very helpful with menu . Food was tasty , but call me greedy , for the $$ one would expect bigger portions in comparison with competitors . Creamy spinach interesting ( acquired taste ) , Macaroni with crab is good ( be careful of shell pieces ) with any entre .
We had to wait a long time for a table for 2 when the restaurant was not full which was not a great start. But the food was excellent as was the table service
We had a great experience at a Swift & Sons. It was our first time there. There were four of us and each couple split an appetizer, a steak and a side. There was plenty to go around! The service was excellent—several wait staff came by for orders, water, or just to fold the napkin of someone who had left the table. The menu has a lot of choices and the steaks were excellent. We liked the choice of sauces. The only thing we didn’t like was the size of the oysters—they were quite small. It is extremely noisy so maybe not a good choice for a romantic evening—we had to speak loudly to hear each other. We will definitely go back.
My husband and I dined at Swift and Sons for a birthday celebration. The service was outstanding--truly one of the best we've experienced in Chicago. Our waiter was very attentive, friendly, and thorough and provided us with a complimentary appetizer and celebratory dessert. Rock shrimp were outstanding, and Beef Wellington was very under cooked but that was resolved after a return trip to the broiler at which time it was delicious. We will definitely return.
TOO, TOO,LOUD. WE WERE A TABLE OF SIX AND WE SHOUTED AT EACH OTHER THE WHOLE TIME. NOT PLEASANT.
It was lovely! A bit noisy but we enjoyed everything.
Bone in filet was amazing. Staff was attentive. Chocolate trolley is a great idea but did not make the bar set by the rest of the meal. It’s noisy but not uncomfortably so. I would definitely recommend you get there straight away.
Very good!!! Great service
Great service by Adam
Food and ambience terrific
Best bone in filet in the city!
We tried to walk about and get a table and were met with the question “Do you have a reservation?” Unfortunately we did not and the dismissive and eye rolling front of house told us it would be an hour or we could eat in the bar. Don’t worry also there was 3 unoccupied tables in the bar area with reserved signs on. We asked if we could sit there. The answer was “ohhh, most nights. But not tonight.” While in the bar area I pulled up open table to find a bunch of available reservations every 15 minutes. So I made one for 8pm, it was currently 7:50pm. At 7:55pm I walked to the host stand saying I now had a reservation and multiple hosts rolled there eyes again and clearly frustrated they had been “out smarted” and she curtly replied well it’s still going to be at least 15 minutes if not longer. It wasn’t until the nice bartender asked us when our reservation was at 8:30 and he clearly escalated something to Get us a table that we were seated.
I can’t help but wonder if all of this negative front of house treatment was because my husband is black.
We had a lovely dinner except for the front of house experience. Lovely bar tender. Lovely waitress
Amazing! Thank you!
Food was good and the place is beautiful. However I had a Thursday 7:45 reservation on a big date night that was ruined as we were unable to be seated until close about 8:30. Not even a single apology from anyone in the place. Nice place with good food but unreliable for reservations.
This is a hidden gem
