The NY strip and Wisconsin grass fed beef were disappointingly ough and chewy, and surprisingly lacking in flavor

Just an amazing meal. Beef Wellington is the best I ever had. Mac and cheese, which you see everywhere, was also fantastic. Likewise even the French fries (I know, way too much food). And the buttery cake dessert is still haunting me.

Swift & Sons is my favorite steakhouse in Chicago. Recently I had the change to try their legendary Beef Wellington. This has to be one the best meals I've ever had. Highly recommend.

Dined here after a matinee theatre performance. Previously had eaten here at a Chicago Gourmet event and was interested to see if the memory held up to current fare. It did. We were promptly seated at a center table, which worked well for three women dining, but couples will love the booths that line the various rooms. There were several "parties" in progress, but that never impeded our service. The noise level was "buzzy", but not overwhelming. Lighting was perfect and seating comfortable. We started with a Mezcal cocktail that was perfectly balanced, a glass of their house recommended sparkling wine and coffee. The latter was pronounced amazing and the diner drank four cups ( and she's not a coffee drinker!) The wine list is not massive and overwhelming, but well curated with options from many regions and countries. You will find something to your liking at any price point. We had eaten a large lunch so did not order a lot of appetizers, but the pierogis gave the Ukrainian church ladies in Bloomingdale some competition. We had a strip steak, filet, and the salmon special. The steaks were among the best I have had, perfectly cooked and flavorful. The filet came with three sauces, but really needed nothing. Our sides were the double baked potato (the truffle and mushroom combination was unique, but tasty), the house green beans ( spectacular) and the broccolini ( too charred for liking) and the food was accompanied by a great bottle of Cab. We decided we thought we were too full for desserts, but asked to see the chocolate cart. We were glad we did, because the truffle was excellent, but the other desserts from that cart were liquor forward tastes. The excellent waiter brought us a different chocolate dessert that was delectable if you like dark chocolate. Overall, a very delightful evening and we can't wait to return. I like that there are multiple dining areas with different vibes. Can't wait to try the bar area and sample more cocktails.

It was our first time here and I have to say our waiter was exceptional! He provided us with detailed information on the menu, and made great suggestions given that I am not a meat eater. We shared oysters and the octopus appetizer which was delicious. My husband had the 14 in filet on the bone and I had the crab legs (exceptional) which was shared with my husband as well. The desserts were awesome! It is pricey, but well worth it for the delicious food and excellent service.

The bone in filet was easily one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. The creamer spinach was a little disappointing, and the crispy fingerling potatoes were not what we expected. Superb cocktails, delightful appetizer. But man, that steak.

The service and the food was great! My previous visit was not great. I left a negative review and the general manager called me. When we arrived on Friday the general manager stopped by our table and introduced herself. That was a class act! This is how you recover from a negative review.

Upscale restaurant that caters to the steak connoisseur and those keen on excellent service. The resturant also offers a 20 minute table side magic show, for $60.

The restaurant was excellent. We had talked about going here for quite some time and finally got around to it. We had the Octopus as well as the Burrata fro appetizers and then steaks, for diner! Deliciously prepared meals and Brady's service was exceptional!

Amazing place! The bartender couldn’t believe we had to wait 7 minutes after our reservation, and he went to find out but it was because I had requested a round booth so they were waiting for one for us. It was for my husband’s birthday and our server didn’t want him to have to watch me eat my salad so he brought him a dish on the house! The atmosphere was so cool with their classy retro mid century modern style. Beautiful place. The food was amazing!!! The tomato salad was like nothing I’ve tasted and the steaks of course were top notch. The surf and turf lobster wasn’t quite worth the money but it is the Midwest so lobster isn’t at its best. Overall an amazing experience. Some of the best overall service and ambiance we’ve ever experienced.

The restaurant was running behind on all reservations, so we weren’t seated until 30 minutes later. We had to wait in the bar which was blaring music and couldn’t hear my friend. Once we got to our table, it was slightly better but still quite loud all around. Our server was quite busy and although she was kind and knowledgeable, we didn’t see her often. The busboy working the table helped us out more and he stayed on top of refilling our drinks! The value for the steaks was good, but the steaks were ok at best. My $100 Japanese Wagyu steak was requested to be cooked at medium but it came out rare and bleeding. Yuck.

If you’re looking for a romantic date night venue, this is NOT the place. I thought a dress code would be warranted but saw many people in jeans and some in sweats.

Overall, it’s not a place I’d go back to when in town.

Possibly an issue of having too high of expectations. Not fully blown away by their side dishes or main courses.

Loved everything about our visit to Swift & Sons. Our whole party had steak and we split the mashed potatoes, sprouts and creamed spinach, it was all outstanding. What made the night exceptional though was our service. Our server was professional, read our table well, made great recommendations and timed everything perfectly. We'll definitely be back.

Such great service. Steak was good but very consistent with other good steakhouses in Chicago. The service really won us over. The ambiance was ok. The toddlers at the next table throwing a tantrum and crying wad not cool when having a fine dining experience. Makes it hard to have a special moment but overall A+ from this place in terms of their staff

Hosted a family group for a special birthday and, everything was perfect. Yes it was costly, but the entire experience—-swanky ambiance, impeccable service, great chow—-was everything we were hoping for. In addition, they have a magician on staff who can perform at your table (for a fee). It may sound silly or corny, but I have seen him twice and it is the highlight of the evening....I strongly recommend it.
