What Insiders Are Saying
Swift & Sons might have a separate seafood restaurant inside of it, but this steakhouse is the star of the show.
Wonderful ambiance and fabulous service!
Anniversary dinner and it was perfect. Everything from walking in and being sat early (per our request), to these small details many places skip over (wiping the table between courses). It was perfect. We're wil take the train again, from Milwaukee, just to eat here.
Food and food service excellent. Bar service was poor, unable to have a cocktail prior to seating even though arrived 30 minutes early. Once seated, ordered a salty dog, no salt on rim of glass; laughable knowing they promote having mixologists on staff.
For the cost, each aspect of operation should be on equal excellence.
This was the best meal we've ever eaten in our lives!
Service used to be better. I like this place. Please to back to your original standard.
Was expecting much more....the service and ambiance were wonderful, but the food was extremely lacking in my opinion. If I were invited out or someone else really wanted to go I would go back but I am not picking it on my own.
We had a wonderful time! Excellent food and service.
Service was fantastic as was the food.
This was my second time at Swift & Sons and the food was just mediocre, I ordered the boneless rib-eye and split it with my friend and we both thought it was very salty. The salad was just eh and so were the desserts. I do like the atmosphere and sitting at the bar enjoying a cocktail before dinner, the service was very good. Will I go back....possibly but not for steak.
We were celebrating friend’s’ birthdays and had a wonderful evening with fine wine and decadent food. The Beef Wellington was superb! Our server was knowledgeable and made a personal connection with our table. They brought warm chocolate chip cookie alamode for the birthdays and I couldn’t stop eating it! Ha
This is a beautiful restaurant with excellent service. Filet are very good, Burgers are fabulous! Rib eye nothing special. Appetizers we had were delicious, pirogi, salad. All in all its really a great place.
Celebrated my Anniversary and had a lovely evening! The food was delicious, the service impeccable and every detail was attended to. A truly special place to celebrate a special occasion.
Our waiter was fun but classy. He had a great mix of presenting the fine dining experience and being personable. The food was fantastic and came out just as we asked. Our only complaint was that we had a reservation but still got out into a corner table with almost no lighting. Other than that, it was fabulous.
Food was great, service was on point. We enjoyed our meal. The tableside old fashioned was well done! You can't go wrong.
Beautiful space, well trained hospital servers, fun cart service additions.
Our second time at Swift and Sons. Dinner for most of our party was exceptional, but one of our party got a med well versus medium ribeye. It was still very good, but kept rating to 4 versus 5. Service was a bit slower than we remembered, but it was Big10 weekend. We will be back!
Porterhouse, Caesar and mushrooms were excellent
Seared Fois Gras was served cold😢
Selections of wine by the glass was really good
The bone-in filet was done perfectly and melt in your mouth tender and delicious. Service is attentive without being intrusive. Every detail is top notch. Pricey but worth it. Gets noisy but still able to carry a conversation.
The best food - such a great spot for happy hour. Our server got a little impatient with us by the end and it was clear he wanted us to leave the table, although there were plenty other open ones around and no one waiting on a Wednesday evening.
We were very disappointed in the quality of the steaks. They were over cooked (they did not charge us for one) and the taste was underwhelming.
Two of the four steaks had to be returned for being undercooked. Ordered steaks medium. Mashed potatoes were not very good as they had too much butter in them. Mac and cheese wasn’t what you would expect and didn’t taste like Mac and cheese at all. Overall very disappointed in the food. We eat out a lot and this is certainly not up to par with its competitors.
Adam our server was awesome. Made a normal experience excellent and very enjoyable.
Great experience!! Food was phenomenal! Went to celebrate a friends birthday. Adam was an excellent server! Adam gave great recommendations and was very attentive
We had a fantastic experience at Swift and Sons. The food and service were fantastic. Two pieces of feedback for the restaurant: my husband primarily drinks beer and was a bit disappointed with the curation of the beer list; I was also confused when I visited the restroom. There seemed no way to determine if a door was locked or not without trying the handle, and that can be embarrassing if the restroom is occupied. Overall, though, we absolutely loved the design and ambiance of the restaurant. Our food was great and the service was excellent!
Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend.
Exquisite service, great ambiance, best New York strip I think I've ever had.
Magician, magician, magician!! Mike was awesome and made the entire dinner that much better!
Very attentive by the staff. Food prepared perfectly and wine distributed efficiently. Everything tasted great. We were there early before the Hockey game and this is good option.
The service was fantastic. My son and I split the 48oz porterhouse. It was one of the best steaks I've had in years. The strip side was just as tender as the filet. Home run. We also had the 8oz filet and two half chicken dinners. All great. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the creamed spinach, bacon spinach tart and the ceasar salad were so salty I could only take a small bite.
I would not hesitate to return in the future. Great spot
Wine went bad. Tried multiple bottles. Service was okay.
Absolutely fantastic food, and a charming, kind, and extremely attentive server.
Excellent service and great food
We had awesome food along with an awesome group of servers.
Great overall experience. Our waitress was amazing.
Great experience! Appetizers, salad, steaks were all perfection. The service was very good without feeling restrictive. We had the optional magic show performed table side and it was SO good!
Dinner w friends
Some food came out cold. Smallest oysters we've ever had. Chicken was super dry. Filet was under seasoned. Waiter was good. Had reservations but seated 30 minutes past reservation. Would opt to spend that amount of money in a different establishment.
Overpriced and the food wasn’t hot enough. Also, the bread to start wasn’t great and the sides and dessert were not large portions. I’d much rather go to Chicago Cut or Maestros. This place seemed amateur compared to more established steakhouses. $60 for a warm bone-in filet that was chewy and didn’t come on a hot plate. $18 for an average tequila as well. French onion soup wasn’t burn enough on the cheese but too burnt on the croutons.
Superb quality steak and huge portions.
