Went for my husbands birthday. Food was alright. Service was better. We ate outside and the patio was nice and warm. It was a little loud and the lights kept going out. Otherwise, nice outdoor ambiance. We were changed a $7 surcharge at the end of the meal for benefits, which the waiter told us (after we asked) was for employees insurance during furlough.
This is our go to special occasion spot. It never disappoints.
Dinner was great but I do have a serious complaint about the valet service. Although I parked my car myself, it was parked a little less than one block away from the restaurant. It was broken into, the alarm went off and it your valet attendant did nothing whatsoever. One would have assumed that he would have at least called the police when he recognized (as he must have) that there were thieves breaking into cars in such close proximity to the restaurant. Very disappointing!
I have to qualify my rating! We dined during COVID restrictions. We were put in a privet fining area not the experience I was hoping for. I appreciate the care we received, and was disappointed with the experience. We have not had a chance do enjoy fine dinning in a long time.
I was hoping to be in the beautiful dining room. Very disappointed.
As always the food quality and taste was perfect. Very comfortable social distancing environment in the whole restaurant.
We missed our flight out of Chicago and decided to make the most of it. So glad we did. Our server, Austin, was attentive without being overbearing. The food was spectacular! The Japanese wagu was unbelievable. Thank you swift and sons fir making lemonade out of our lemons!!
The food was lovely. We were sad that Covid has reduced their menu, but happy to see that they were busy on a Tuesday! Incredible wine!
Very clean and safe! Waiter was very friendly and helpful. We ended up staying past the 90 minute mark by mistake and we were not rushed. Very amazing Valentine's Day date!
Amazing food and music for Valentine’s Day. No complaints. Great service.
Wasn’t impressed at all. I understand due to covid things have changed but the service was atrocious and food was subpar. My first time visiting swift and sons and definitely the last. Only person that made the night more enjoyable was a bus boy who was very attentive but our server was definitely not.
Service was great, but the food didn’t meet our expectations for the price. Our filets tasted burnt rather than nicely charred.
My first time there with my lady and it was more than we expected. The steak was cooked beyond perfection and the environment was warm and inviting. I appreciate the team last night and will definitely be back soon
The best Valentines day meal ever!! Great experience for sure. The best bone in filet I have ever tasted. The staff was very good and the whole evening was special. Well done and I cant wait to return
Made reservations with a month and a half lead time outdoor dinning only at the time a week before reservations inside dining opened they refused to let us sit indoors with outside temperature at 10 degrees. The food arrived hot for about 3 minutes and then turned stone cold. Very rude and arrogant staff. This was my first time here and definitely last time.
Service wasn’t very good, considering the cost of the meal I was expecting more. Food was average. Drinks were the best part. I’ve definitely had better steaks.... overall, I don’t need to go back.
We made a reservation 3 weeks prior to our date night. After bearding amazing reviews about the ambiance, I was excited. We got there at 7:30 on 2/12. I understand that Covid protocols are in place and appreciate being seated at least 6 feet apart. The waiter led us through the fun, upbeat restaurant and I was really looking forward to this dinner. Then we landed in a dark back room with 2 other couples. It was so isolating and uncomfortable.
Zero ambiance!! I was so disappointed. The restaurant that we walked through seemed lively and fun. We were stuck in the land of dark and boring. Super disappointed!!!!!
I was so impressed with what they were able to put together outside. Despite the subzero temps had a lovely meal, comfortable fun and delicious!
First time dining at Swift & Sons and the experience was something to treasure for sure.
We were able to snag a reservation for inside dining so we were well protected from the below zero temps that settled into the Chicago area for the weekend.
They have the most cozy vintage vibe which truly adds to the entire experience.
My husband ordered the bone-in ribeye, I ordered the bone in fillet and we shared a side of Brussel Sprouts. I cannot even begin to describe to you how delicious and perfectly cooked everything was. We also each ordered a craft beverage from their bar menu which were very skillfully created and delicious.
We have had really good steaks at very fine dining establishments all over the world and Swift & Sons definitely holds a high ranking in our book.
We will be back and look forward to our next visit.
Always a great time and good.
I went for my birthday dinner. They sat us in a corner outside of the main room. No ambiance whatsoever. They claimed they could not move us into the main room because of walk ins waiting (meanwhile we made a reservation weeks ago). I was very excited to try this place and heard good things but celebrating my 25th in a back corner that was cold and empty was not what I wanted as my first experience at Swift & sons. I also ordered a filet medium well and it came out burnt around the edges. Aside from that the food was good. I will not be going back, bummer because I was so excited to try!
This was my first experience and I was very pleased. Looking forward to another dining experience in the future.
Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Great way to get out and enjoy a nice dinner why still feeling safe.
5 stars all the way around!
We ate outside in the heated tent which isn’t fancy compared to the usual great indoor space they have but still it was great food and service!
Top notch appetizers and drinks! Highly recommend for a date night!
A delicious dinner in an extremely attractive atmosphere. And, they did a very good job with Covid-related matters. A great evening!
With such a lovely large space w/ high ceilings, and new plexiglass partitions, this was easily safe and a delicious dinner for a birthday the other day! The food was fantastic - as always, but felt even better likely because we haven't been out to eat in so long. Enjoyed a comfy leather booth and everything was great. Especially the filet - so perfect! My only suggestion is a few more gluten-free options on menu. The GF roll wasn't bad but compared to the other non GF breads - well, really miss them! Try the roasted vanilla ice cream to add to your dessert or have on a side, delicious!
Our server Mike was fantastic. The food was top notch as expected.
Phenomenal food, very safe and comfortable social distanced environment.
Cozy outdoor dining. Service was top notch. Food was delicious...the beef Wellington was amazing .
The food was really good. The customer services was great.
It was freezing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great experience, all things considered. The tent was well heated and tables are spaced out. Food and service was great.
Beef Wellington is so amazing! Fantastic cocktails too
My boyfriend and I came for our anniversary. The staff is so accommodating for allergies and the food came on hot plates. This was especially nice because we were eating outside during winter. The drinks were great and unique. My only complaint is the price, for a steak house I felt like $400 was a bit much for dinner. We did get drinks and dessert but it was pretty pricey and not sure I would return again for that reason.
There was a noisy and disruptive man bemoaning his troubles and disrupting us and all other surrounding guests. No one did anything to remove him or ask him to stop. $250 for a dinner and a show we didn’t want to see or hear.
Only downside is overpriced drinks. $18 for a small martini? Not good.
Food is amazing. Always have nice servers.
We tried to get the igloos but it’s not an option apparently. So arriving and finding out the hard way was disappointing. The tent was nice enough though so fine, whatever. Server seemed great until his friends were sat at the table next to us. Could barely be torn away from chatting to bother taking our orders or even bringing our drinks. I had to literally wave him down and beg for wine to accompany my oysters that had been there awhile. And the oysters. West coast were phenomenal. East coast were literally bad. Like old. I’ve lived in Boston. I know what oysters should taste like. I ate them despite my better judgement and was sick for 2 days. The rest of our meal was ok. My husband loved his burger. My salmon was over cooked which seems surprising they wouldn’t know how to cook salmon properly but it was medium well and dry. The Brussels sprouts were amazing. My espresso was bitter and had clearly sat too long. The espresso martini I replaced it with was great. They tried. But I’ll go anywhere else next time.
