Swift & Sons might have a separate seafood restaurant inside of it, but this steakhouse is the star of the show.
If we weren’t seated by the kitchen door I would have give a 5 star rating.
Excellent meal! The brussell sprouts were outstanding, steaks were delicious and the service was fantastic. A little pricey, but the meal was so good!
Amazing service and fabulous food!
Benjamin is the best and so was Jaime they were both amazing
There are so many great steak places in Chicago...skip this one. The level of service and details of the dining experience did not match the price point of the menu. Why are there individual charges ($3?) for sauces that pair with your $66 steak? Seems silly. Soup should be HOT, not luke warm. The wine list should be on the table so we can consider it while looking at the cocktail menu--the waiter should then not rush us with a drink order. The service was just okay. In a place like this it should be excellent. Try Maple and Ash instead.
Come here every time I'm in town and it never disappoints!
This is the second time I've been to Swift & Sons. This time was just as memorable as the first! The steaks are the best I've had in Chicago, the deserts are to die for. Ask for Andrea, she is such a great waitress and remembered what we liked from our first dinner. I highly recommend!
Beautiful restaurant with great food. Service was outsatnding
Had a GREAT meal once again.
This was my 4th time eating at the restaurant- service was perfect!
Worst fillet for the price. Meet was burnt
Friends get together
They kept us waiting for a half hour past our reservation, even though we had checked in with the hostess an hour and a half earlier before going to the bar. Everyone around us was also waiting past their reservations. Why make a reservation if you can't keep it? That set the tone for the rest of the meal. Drinks were great tho!
The experience didn't start out all that great. My wife and I had a 6:45 reservation and we weren't asked to be seated until 7:15. We were asked to wait by the bar so we ordered a drink (maybe this was their plan all along). The drinks were delicious, but we both finished ours before our table was ready. They told us our table was ready at 7:15 so we went to the front to wait another 10 minutes because they were putting the finishing touches on it. Not sure what that meant, but once we finally sat down, the dinner was wonderful.
Our waitress was fantastic and knowledgeable. Food was cooked really well and extremely delicious. We were even given some complimentary desserts for our birthdays.
Our server Brittany was amazing. She was fully knowledgeable about the menu. The food was great. The only complaint was the lobster bisque was luke warm. But our other appetizers, meal and desert were great! Will definitely go back.
Exceptional in every way. A new favorite. The vibe is really good, the service is excellent and the food exactly what you would expect in a top priced steakhouse. Nice touches - a bar cart, a nice chocolate dessert cart and there different grades if wagyu beef.
Single greatest day of my life! The decor in the back part of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired but the service and the food are incredible. The desserts (apple crumble cake, pineapple cake and rum cake) were just okay. Drinks were fantastic and the wine selection is unrivaled. Will definitely be going back.
My New York Strip steak was excellent. LIked that we could order half orders for sides. Nice bar.
Amazing spot!! Fantastic food and staff was second to none!! Thank you for such a great evening!!!
Never disappointed here - great staff and food was super
A fellow coworker’s retirement
The food was great and both steaks were cooked to perfection. The staff was caring and went out of their way to take great care of us. great food and caring service !!
Excellent food and service.
We needed fast service to make an appointment and they were very accommodating.
Celebrating paying of students loans. What a great 2nd experience. Adam was polite, conservative with a dash of friendliness & humor, without being too overbearing & making the night about us & our dinner. I’m a bit of a architect lover & the modern Art Deco space is a must for people to know in Chicago. We’ll be back !
Mixed feelings about this place. Atmosphere and ambiance was comforting. Service was EXCEPTIONAL, make sure you ask for BRITTANY she was AWESOME, and knows her stuff!!! The baked french onion soup was superb (one of the best I have ever had). As for the food, well it was good, quite tender and tasty (we had steaks and chicken) however, the downside was the food was cold, room temp at best. Sweet potatoes were tasty but again cold (butter did not melt) Baked potato was the hottest food we got but personally I think there was a little to much chive on them. Caramelized onions were sweet tasting and possibly a little over cooked so kind of mushy. The chicken was really good, NY strip was very tender, but no juice and cold, the bone-in Ribeye was a little more seared than I like which mad it crunchy,a little more fatty than most and was also cold. If you like horseradish with your steaks I suggest asking them for their fresh horseradish it is very good. For desert we had the S & S sundae for 2, there was enough for all 4 of us.
We did not complain because our server was so nice.
As for pricing the chicken was $28, Ny Strip $50 and the Bone in Ribeye was $66 seems fair.
Over all we had a good time, and that's what mattered.
Honestly, if food was hot, probably would have been a 5* rating.
Again, if you go there ASK FOR BRITTANY!!! She is #1
This was our first time at Swift and Sons and we found it to be great. It is an enormous restaurant with three bars. Although i server was cordial, her demeanor was less than warm. She was however, efficient and managed our meal well. We would definitely return.
Our food was wonderful, however the service we had was not. We had been to Swift and Sons before and had amazing service, however this time was quite different. Our server felt as if he rushing us out - he asked if we were ready to order our entrees very shortly after ordering our appetizers (before the apps even came), and came back about every 10 minutes until finally we agreed to order. Despite coming often to ask if we were ready to order our entrees, he seemed to not be around when we needed to order more drinks. Lastly, we ordered coffees/cappuccinos after our meal, and they never came, yet were on our bill. He took these drinks off of the bill though. This is not something that will prevent me from going to Swift and Sons again, however, I just hope to not have the same server again.
Expensive food. Good food. Expensive. Over rated. You want a great meal? Go to Maple and Ash as it blows this place away. Sweet Potato side dish cane cold. Steaks were really good but nothing special. You can get a much more reasonably priced meal at lots of other places in Chicago and get as good or better. Service was outstanding!! Wait staff top notch. Wouldn’t go back.
Amazing as always
It is done very well and definitely an upgraded experience. The noise volume was a little high but the energy was great. The food was great because it was kept simple and good ingredients!
Chicago Steakhouse at its best! Best first experience...period.
We enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. Started with drinks at the bar, and were greeted by a friendly bartender, who made some excellent martinis. The entire staff was first class. We had a party of 6 and all of us ordered a steak of one variation or another. 2 of us had the Kansas City Cut, which was quite disappointing. It's hard to describe, but the meat was almost like a gel? Ive never seen anything like it. Both those steaks were the same. Others in our party got the filet, which was fine. Not sure what was up with the Kansas City cut, but it wasnt good.
Overall, I wasnt blown away by the place, and I had been excited to go. Maybe there was to much hype.
The hype around this Boka venture is excatly that...hype. The service was horrible. It began when i had to wait for my table even though i had made a reservation and confirmed it the day prior when they called me. I had to approach the staff to ask about my table not them coming to me. I had to ask for coffee, water and wine refills. Wine refills from a bottle I had ordered for the table. Further, we were never asked about allergies and the dessert menu is obviously not communicated to the staff as waiter could not explain ingredients. This is just the tip of the iceberg on the horrible service while paying $440 for food and drinks for 3 people. I would have gone somewhere else for same amount of money that knew what service was.
Overall all the food was well prepared although some of main course dishes were cool when served
The service was fantastic.
Great for our event
One of the best meals I have ever eaten. A great comparison is Benny's Chop House, to which it may actually be better than. I had the ribeye and my wife had the filet. Both were cooked perfectly and every bite was delicious. Drinks were tasty and well made. Sides were also delicious and I highly recommend the baked cookie dessert. Zero complaints, would definitely go there again.
Second Time dining at Swift and Sons. Both were great experiences. Love the open spacious facility and excellent food. Service is particularly good
This place was a disappointment, not because anything was bad, but because there was nothing I would come back to try again. We went with another couple and each of us had three courses, but nobody ended up excited about any of them. I can think of five other comparably positioned restaurants that offer much better courses for the same or less money. When you're competing at the top of the price range, you need to deliver something special. Swift and Sons, unfortunately, does not meet the standards set by other top restaurants in town.
Delicious! Lovely space and good service. It's always a pleasure to dine with you!
