Service was terrible. Had to seek out waiter any time we needed anything. He never actually checked on us to see how we were doing and if we needed anything.
Food was average. Service was excellent. Server was knowledgable about food ingredients and allergens.
I recommend ordering the calamari. It was the most delicious part of the meal. Drinks were great too. The service was friendly and quick. It was also a great location that we could walk to from our hotel to, and then walk to theater from.
Everything was good, food, service. However you couldnt even hear yourself think. The music was So loud. I asked to changed seats but she said there are speakers all Over
The place. You would. Have to sit outside for some quiet. Tone it down. It’s just lunch.
Met a friend after work for dinner and drinks. We both had burgers - which were good. A little difficult to get a refill and the waiter brought the wrong side with my burger. Still a good place - convenient for both of us.
Way too loud inside. No need to have music volume set at a high level in a crowded restaurant.
Great service from Brian...enjoyed our tasty burgers and 2 different craft beers. Here on holiday and will probably return.Reasonably priced too!
Anniversary. Great meal & good service
Wanted to eat an early dinner before a concert at the Chicago Theatre. Someplace close to our hotel (Swissotel) that offers outdoor seating. Bingo! Sweetwater Tavern here we come! It fit the bill nicely. The food was good and the service was attentive. It helped having a reservation through open table too. We'll be back!
The ambiance was great but the food was sub par. Nothing was seasoned at all!! The boom boom shrimp were the only good thing. Chicken nachos were overcooked on the pulled chicken, lettuce was brown and lacked overall flavor impact.
The most disappointing was the cajun pasta. I was really looking forward to it! It has nice sized shrimp and baby pieces of andouille. The cream sauce was just that...cream. Not cajun spice, no nothing. It was barely a tan color! The bell peppers were also undercooked. Overall, extremely underwhelming.
Great waitress and service. Great ambiance for beer and friends/sports games/ drunken food. Not a place to come to for a solid dinner.

Nice atmosphere. Great location on Michigan Avenue. Food came fairly quickly and was good.
Steak was undercooked raw in parts. Blander than bland flavor. Chipotle chicken was dry, almost like days old. The steak cauliflower had as much flavor as cardboard would. Waste of time and money. Avoid.

Food only okay. Noisy inside or out. Convenience was reason for booking
I was not satisfied with our server. He was slow to tend to us. He was gone for way to long between check-ins. I ran out of my drink. He took forever to bring a box for my leftovers. I ordered a cocktail and never received it. He was either very busy or not interested in customer service. Thanks, Rich

Nice place; a little loud, but food was very good and the beer better. Recommended the restaurant to 6-7 people attending the meeting I was at because it was good, reasonably priced and fun. Good place close to the rive on Michigan Ave.
In town for a wedding and wanted to get back to Sweetwater as its always been a family favorite on our trips to Chicago.
Hi Denny, I'm glad you had a nice time at Sweetwater! Come back again soon! :) - Staley
Good food and drink variety. Friendly wait
Staff. Music was a bit louder than it needed to be at dinner time.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere and great drinks
Hi Ryan, I'm happy you're enjoying Sweetwater! Come back again soon! - Staley
Tourist spot with excellent service. Salads were good, but nothing special or unusual about them.
Sweetwater met our needs nicely. Close to our hotel and Millennium Park. Outside seating area was quite nice. Server was attentive and food was tasty. Overall a very pleasant experience.
One of my favorite places to take friends and family. They have alot of options for food and drinks and everyone as ways has a great time.
Hi Jamie, I'm glad you had a great time at Sweetwater! We look forward to seeing you again soon! - Staley
Loved eating outdoors. Server was very nice, but told us the dish wouldn't be at all spicy, and in actuality it was too spicy to eat (cauliflower steak). My wife's salmon was superb.
Appetizer Bang Bang Shrimp was delicious!!
Just staying overnight in Chicago, and this was within walking distance of our hotel. We dined outside and were treated nicely and promptly. Food was good, menu had many options. We were a group of 4, from 10 to 70, and we were all satisfied.
Great menu, fun, upbeat vibe. Food was very good!
Hi Cindy, I'm glad you enjoyed visiting Sweetwater! Come back again soon! - Staley
Waitress was nice but too soft-spoken. When asked what the driest cider was, she said she didn't know (and didn't attempt to find out). Had to ask for more flatware after 1st flatware was taken away after appetizers.
One of our favorites in downtown Chicago
Hi there, I'm glad you're enjoying Sweetwater! Come back again soon! :) - Staley
The food was bland, and a lot of the items that are shown online they no longer serve there.
Hi Audrey, I'm sorry to hear that you had a disappointing experience at Sweetwater. Thank you for providing your feedback. - Staley
The food & service were average. I chose Sweetwater for it's location and varied menu.
Fab outdoor space incl wrapping around the building. Long bar, looks great for after work cocktails.
Awesome onion rings, we ordered 2 rounds!
Oddly small bathrooms, only a couple stalls. And a looooong walk from dining room. But the ladies room was clean so I’m happy.
Same as evey other sports bar..food way over seasond..unless you like pepper
This is a really nice restaurant. The only issue I have is the music is to loud, you really can't talk to anyone.
Nothing was wrong with anything we ordered but it was forgettable in every way. No one will feel this was a great meal but it's a tolerable stomach plug.
Hi Rob, I'm sorry you had a disappointing experience at Sweetwater. Thank you for your feedback. - Staley
One of the few sit-down restaurants on Michigan Avenue downtown. Recently remodeled. Food is good, service is good, and price is excellent.
Had brunch on a Sunday where the 4 of us chose from the breakfast menu. Good food, not spectacular nor creative/unique, similar to what you’d find in a local diner. Exception: beignets were a treat. It was early and place was quiet with loads of empty tables, so disappointing that hostess wouldn’t accommodate our request for a specific area of restaurant and set of tables.
Great food and drinks! Fantastic service.
Hi there, I'm glad you had a great time at Sweetwater! We hope you'll come back again soon! - Staley
Service was so slow. The waiter was pleasant but it took 10 minutes for him to greet our table and was slow overall.
Brian was our waiter. He was very attentive. Took time to verify if we had been there before. Also double checked to make sure there were no food allergies. E even gave a very thoughtful run down of the menu! The bus boys were great as well. Loved the atmosphere and decor
Hi there, I'm so happy to hear you had a nice time at Sweetwater! I'm glad you had a great experience with Brian, I'll be sure to pass your compliments on to him. We hope you'll come visit us again soon! - Staley
The food was creative, fresh and wonderful. Peppercorn crusted Ahi plate one of the best I’ve ever had. We were seated outside, which we asked for, but the service truly did not meet standard. Dishes were not cleared, no one checked back, had to go inside and ask hostess for more dressing and then it was the wrong kind when delivered.
Good food at a good price.
