View Private Dining DetailsHadn't gone to Sweetwater in years, but it's still a great place to meet up with friends. Our service and food were great. No complaints other than I asked for no onion on my burger and got onions. However, the server was new and in training.
The food was good and at a reasonable price for downtown dining. It was a bit loud, but the service was good.
Always a great place to dine
We went on to watch the NCAA basketball tournament on the recommendation of our hotel. We were very disappointed they didn't put the sound on and they were not accommodating about putting the games on at first. Their website specifically says to join them for March Madness. Our food and service were good. It has nice TVs, but not a real sports bar for big games. The management was also not very pleasant.
Nice experience. Not a huge menu, but what we had was good. Good beer selection.
Good evening out with a friend from out of town – she liked the place and we had plenty of time to talk and could easily hear each other because it wasn't too loud. Food was pretty good – those tater tots are pretty baller. Thanks, guys!
One of our regular neighborhood joints. Many flat screen televisions and NCAA basketball games as well as the Winter Olympics. The food is good comfort food, nothing fancy. The service this time was not as good as the past; the server must have been new. The managers ended up taking our order as the server was very slow and was not sure what Earl Grey tea was (again, the manager ended up bringing the correct tea bag). Fortunately, we were not in a hurry.
Always a good choice. A great place to watch your favorite sports game as there are many flat screen tvs. Good choice of beer. And the food is good comfort food. Nothing fancy, but wwell prepared.
I wasn't *super* thrilled by this place, but it wasn't bad. I don't tend to go to the city much, so when I go there for a meal, I expect that it'll be exceptional. Based on the photos, I anticipated that this restaurant would be intimate and almost pub-like, but it wasn't. I liked that every table was a booth, but my fiance's seat was at an angle, and he kept making it a point of saying that he was uncomfortable. My pulled pork was *very* sweet, but he ate up his whole turkey burger. Tater tots were good, and so was the beer.
Service was attentive from the minute walking in. Had a good meal but the apps, curds and buffalo rolls, were cold leaving me to wonder how long they were waiting. Salads looked great and I really enjoyed the sausage pasta.
Management and staff were less than accommodating. Would not recommend for business celebration or outing. Would not recommend using open table to reserve table/space for business celebration.
Went here for lunch and it was quick, convenient, and fairly priced. Can't really ask for more when you are planning a quick lunch out somewhere. Will definitely go back!
Friday 1:30pm business lunch seated promptly. Convenient location, friendly staff, good food & service, reasonably priced menu items.
My friend and I were in Chicago for a shopping trip. We wanted to go to a restaurant that was on or close to Michigan Ave. The lunch menu had lots of entrees to choose from. Our server was great...attentive, but not overbearing. You should have reservations for the lunch hour, as it was filled up by noon.
Sweetwater was good. Selection of IPA beer was okay, the food had great flavors but the Halibet was a little tough. Wait staff was great. Ambiance was as expected.
Was delicious
Drinks were good - I had a mule and another cocktail. Food was just okay. Fries were not hot and crab salad seemed bland to me. Friend had a burger which again was just okay - not much flavor. Great location, decor and service.
My husband and I went to Sweetwater for an early pre-comedy show dinner. The waitress was nice and attentive. When my husband accidentally was given sweet potato fries instead of tots she didn’t bat an eyelash and went to the kitchen, returning with a fresh bowl of tots. I had two cocktails, the cosmo and the basil lemonade. I love basil lemon martinis, this was easily the most basil-y one I’ve ever had. It was borderline too much basil flavor but both were still delicious! My hubby had the fiesta burger and I had the Santa Fe steak wrap. My wrap was delicious but one thing that would have improved it would be to more evenly distribute the ingredients so i can have it all in each bite. That being said the steak was flavorful and the veggies tasted very fresh. My husband really enjoyed his burger. Overall it was a solid spot! Will probably go back!
Good selection of traditional and healthy fare. We had 3 people and all enjoyed their meals. Nice selection of craft brews as well.
This is a great location for a higher end lunch restaurant. I've always had great service at Sweetwater's, even during their busy lunch time. Always a helpful and cheerful wait staff. The food, as usual, was quite good. Good portions and freshly prepared. I especially like the salads and the wraps. Seems like the usual fare for lunch, but everything is a notch above the expected.
My only complaint is; I would like the space to be a little quieter for business conversations. But other than that, I reliable spot for lunch anytime.
Very disappointing, food was dry. No on ever asked how our food was, including the manager that stopped by after the check say for some time...he offered to cash it out, never asked how our meal was or anything. Waited 10 minutes for a server to start with, it was not busy, no need at all for the reservation. The food was extremely dry, left a half an appetizer and hald a sandwich un-eaten, the first half picked apart and at no point did anyone ask if it was good, if there was a problem, nothing. Will never go back.
We came in from Bloomington to see the city and to go to navy pier...Made reservations and loved it...The waiter was very respectful and professional...Loved the food we will definitely be back!
Very good menu, presentation artful but not over the top, taste as expected, competent service, great location. In a word, Solid.
Broccoli was very salty and for the price I think there should have been 5 scallops instead of 3. I told server broccoli salty, but he said nothing.
Made a reservation the day before and requested outdoor seating. They were very accommodating. We ordered two meals that we wanted to split. They split the meals and plated them for us which was very much appreciated.
Beer and cheese curds really good!!! Buffalo rolls not so much.
Liked the ambiance, everyone minding their business and its nice to watch any sports on if you are into sports at all. Great for a first time date or if your into a quick bite to eat while having a nice cocktail to wind down from the day. Its right at the heart of Michigan before crossing the bridge which is perfect spot in the middle of everything but low key to traffic and any other chaos your trying to avoid. First time going but would definitely go back!
Tilapia was good. A nice place to meet after work for a drink.
Everything was great except for the drinks. They were very weak, add the high cost and they were disappointing and not worth the price.
This is our neighborhood go to place. Great selection of beer. Love the Sweetwater burger with sweet potato fries. A good second choice is the fish tacos, a little messy but really flavor able.
Good food and Great Service. No wait time for reservations.
Food needs work. Calamari was fishy, and the entrees need a better presentation. Great beer though.
Theater night in the city.
Pleasant environment, great service and delicious food.
Food, especially the sides, were awesome! Drink prices were on the high side.
The steak wrap was very good but the buffalo chicken wrap was mediocre. The bang bang shrimp was very tasty and the noise level was not too bad considering it's a sports bar.
The hostess was very passive aggressive and rude the day that we came. That was the only thing. Everything else was great. I've come here several times before and they've all been great experiences
Always enjoy going to Sweetwater! We have been there many times and it never disappoints. Both food and service is always outstanding! Bang Bang Shrimp is the BEST!!
Really enjoyed this place! The service was exceptional and the food satisfying. Ambience was kind of typical but a good spot overall.
