Great food and large beer selection. Service has also always been great.
Food and service was great! The drinks were strong and the vibe was perrrrrfect!
Food was cold.
Server Samantha is awesome
We asked for booth, that was setup by the window, with room for 6. they told us it was unavailable. We were seated as party of 5 on high large common table close to the bar. 20 minutes later another party was seated in the booth. That killed the ambience.
We sampled most of the appetizers and were not disappointed.
Thank you for being so allergy aware!
Came here before a matinee. Loveddd it. They play chive tv funny videos which the whole family enjoyed. Our waiter was soo cute and nice and didn’t seem annoyed with my kids. I got the salmon with beurre blanc sauce and broccolini and mashed potatoes. I ate EVERYTHING on that plate. My daughter had a bit of my potatoes and then insisted on having more. My husband liked his wrap, as well. The side of fresh fruit for the kids meal was also great. This was the best place we ate on our trip to Chicago.
I loved this place. After going to another restaurant and having the worst service, I found Sweet Water on my OpenTable app and ran out of the current place I was dining. The service at Sweet Water was great and the food was yummy. The cheese curds were so good!! This is a must try!!!
Chicken was dry and Bloody Mary did nothing match as advertised
Very surprised! Good variety and choices. Food was prepared well, tasted good and prudently priced. Service struggled but could be they were understaffed like every other place these days.
The waitress and the lady at the front desk was nice ! It was the man at the front desk was very rude I stoped there to let them know I paid on line he told me to stop there while he go check when he came back the lady and I was talking he came back being rude saying it went through as if the lady an I shouldn’t be talking! I’ve never go back there because of his rudeness .
We came for apps and cocktails before a show at the Chicago Theatre. The cocktails were yummy, service was friendly and fast, Chris was very nice. The Buffalo chicken wonton app was spicy and so good!
First time here….loved it! Perfect spot if you’re shopping or going to a show. Food was great (filet medallion sandwich and chicken salad) and served quickly. Our server, Kristoph was excellent.
We were seated quickly, friendly waiter and food came fast. Lively atmosphere with lots of TVs if you want to watch sports.
At first we were seated at a table that was in a very dark corner. We could not even see our food! So our waitperson moved us to a table with better light.
Good good, day too near the door and it was cold
Sweetwater is one of my favorite restaurants in the loop. It's comfortable, the food is always good. Some items are a bit pricey for lunch food (suitable for dinner), but there are also really good deals on the sandwich like menu. PS - The fish tacos are amazing and priced good.
Was so looking forward to dining there based on the website menu. Ordered applies of pork belly and soup of the day along with mains of sunny side burger and impossible burger. We were famished and in great anticipation…Waited more than 20 mins wondering why appies were taking so long. No apologies nor updates from the waiter, then the mains arrived! Told the waiter to cancel the appies and no apology was given nor explanation. Totally indifferent attitude. Complained about the lukewarm and soggy fries despite requesting crispy ones. After another long wait a big bowl of fries arrived but again it was not even hot or crispy. At this point I was just wanting to get out of here. To not get simple things right is inexcusable. There are many other better restaurants in Chicago and my advice is to void this .
The food and drinks were amazing. In the perfect spot of Michigan avenue.
I’m town for a comedy show. Great service, food & atmosphere
Was surprised by the very high prices. $17 for a small appetizer. Our lunch bill for 2 was $74.00 without tip. We had soup, for soup, salad and coffee.
The soup was cold and salads were tasteless. Very disappointed.
Good location and fair service.
Sweetwater is also a good place to go for both business & pleasure. The food is good and the environment is fun. Definitely recommend it for a variety of events.
Arrived early and was seated immediately by window as requested with reservation.
Waiter arrived at our table quickly and returned giving us more time to review the menu.
Did have to wait a little longer for our meal to be served but server checked on us and updated us that meal would be ready soon.
Food came beautifully presented and temperature was as expected.
Waiter checked on us frequently during our eating.
Great location and easy for out of town visitors.
Glad I selected Sweetwater Tavern and Grille
Casual but nice atmosphere for a pre theater meal. Friendly and attentive staff. The food was delicious.
I came in for the Buffalo chicken wrap that’s been on the menu. I didn’t see it on the menu and asked the server. She said the hot chicken was the new name for the wrap so I took her word for it. It was not at all the same. So disappointing experience. I’m somewhat a regular and this was the first bad experience.
We always return here during our stay-cation! Food was perfect (had the NY Strip). Drinks were fantastic. Atmosphere was bustling and the wait staff were attentive.
Food just wasn’t as good as us usual. Service was fine as usual
Tasty food with light to heavy fare, plus a great beer list of local and other favorites.
Music was incredible. Food was so good. Service was a bit slow but we understand being understaffed and busy! Overall great experience and can’t wait to come back.
We ate outside and enjoyed the warm fall weather. Good menu for 6 year old, his mother and grandparents
Sweet water was a perfect choice for a pre-show meal. We were in town to see a show at the Harris Theatre, which is a 5 minute walk from the Sweetwater Grill.
Our table was ready promptly when we arrived 10 minutes early, and our waitress insisted to tell the chef to hurry since we were headed to a show.
We enjoyed our experience and will return!
Nice spot with a few good vegan options. Their Impossible Burger was tasty.
This place is conveniently located between me and a few friends so we really wanted to like this place. It’s new and big and central for all of us to get together and watch sports especially when the winter gets here but we won’t be back. The food was terrible. I had two bites of my three fish tacos and the waitress didn’t even ask if anything was off. Most of us had full plates when we left. The drinks were alright. The staff was nice but not that great at their job(slow service). This was a very light night. Only saw three other tables. We won’t be back. I wouldn’t waste my time or money or calories here.
My waiter was just as amazing as my good drinks.
The food was great, quick service, nice waitstaff.
Food was good but the service was extremely slow. It was our anniversary and we were visiting from Boston which we indicated when making the reservation but we were at our table for 15 minutes before we ever saw our server to order drinks. Our drinks came 10 minutes after that. Dinner came at the same time as our first drinks. Had high hopes but this was our least favorite dining experience of our 3-day stay in Chicago.
Brunch nenu was meh… Wierd tacos. Paloma was funny. Slow service.
Food was unflavorful and very microwaveable or popped in the oven. Very disappointed, definitely nit a reservation type place
Great vibe right off Michigan ave. The food (steak and eggs) was a little cold. But my friend’s food was fresh and hot. You could see the steam. All in all nice place.
