Sweet Waters Steak House Ratings and Reviews
This was my first visit to this location. It was my spouse's second visit; spouse was unhappy with a first visit a year or so ago, and I was lucky to convince spouse to give it a second chance. It is very rare for spouse to give a restaurant a second chance if unhappy with first visit. Well, our reservation was honored, hostess friendly. Server did not state his name but I believe our check said Ken. He did not offer any descriptions or recommendations of food items despite being told this was my first visit. When we placed our order, he informed us that he thought they ran out of the appetizer we wanted, so we provided a second choice in case but he did not confirm if they were out or not. Instead, when our second choice arrived, we figured they did not have the first item. Our oyster appetizer was very good, but pricey for four oysters. We shared the porterhouse for two which was excellent. Tender, moist, flavorful, nice crisp crust, melt in the mouth meat. I would recommend it. Creamed spinach and asparagus were good.
Service was a real disappointment. One expects a certain level of service at upscale restaurants. Our wine glasses remained empty for too long, despite server walking past them for no apparent reason. We did not receive bread, really disappointing, and all the tables around us received a basket of bread. We decided against dessert. The food was very good, but service is an important aspect when dining out, especially at a place that is supposed to be top notch. Our experience was disappointing, not because of quality of food but due to quality of the service for the price paid for the food. The manager did not stop by to check on satisfaction, no manager visible visiting tables. We certainly did not feel like valued customers.
Service could have been better. Server poured wine for me to sample. I immediately noticed the glass had a scent of soap. The waiter agreed and brought me a new glass. The waiter never apologized for the inconvenience nor did he offer anything for the fact some of my wine was wasted. I don’t expect to return to this restaurant.
Most of the staff were exceptional - just one had a sour disposition but that did not daunt us. The food was very tasty and well presented and the cocktails were out of this world!
All in all it was a very satisfying experience, and we'll there again given half a chance!
Food was good but service was exceptionally slow. After watching our waiter chat at another table and linger while describing the dessert menu, we felt overlooked. Especially since the Place wasn’t even that full. For the prices we expect the service to match the food.
Also it was so loud we couldn’t hear ourselves talk. I forget this and continue to book a reservation here every few months. That will probably stop now.
My wife wanted a steak for her birthday so we went to Sweet Waters for the first time. The ambiance was nice and the steak didn't disappoint. The sea bass was excellent as well and the cocktails were spot on. Service was great and our waiter William was awesome. He explained the entire menu and his recommendations paid off. Will definitely be back.
I have dined at Sweetwater's perhaps fifteen times. The service is always professional. The ambience is that of a gentlemens' club: dark wood, good space between tables, quiet enough to hear your guests speak without hearing conversations from the nearby tables. The steaks and seafood are terrific.
This is my go-to restaurant in Westfield, a good town for restaurants- from the oysters and huge shrimp to the great steaks and other entrees, accompanied by great house wines- their chardonnay and cabernet are great- the staff is friendly and prompt, Ryan, Romulo, Pablo and the rest are all top shelf - and the owner Frank is a welcoming, down to earth host. Lunch is also a great experience here- the vibe here is to make you feel like your're special and you MUST have a good time. Too bad there are not more than 5 stars.
This was our first experience at Sweet Waters Steakhouse and there were a lot of positives. We were seated right away - nice table by the front window. The staff was very friendly and the ambiance was nice - good lighting and not too loud. But the cocktail seemed to be missing a key ingredient, we didn’t get our salad at all (but they did offer to bring it after serving us the entree), and my burger was welldone, not medium as ordered. May have been a staffing issue in the wait staff/kitchen? We had a discount coupon which helped, but we probably won’t return.
