Fantastic food. Great service.
Corkage fee seemed unnecessary for opening our own beer.
Overall great experience.
The presentation was good, the meal was okay nothing special just ok! For the price I expected better! Not a place I would travel to for dinner, if I was nearby and was hungry maybe!
The whole experience was just lovely. The food was incredible and the servers warm and helpful. We are already planning our next trip back
We tried Sweet T’s for the first time for dinner this evening and it was outstanding. There were 5 of us and we all enjoyed it. The place is nicely decorated and has a fun vibe to it. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. For appetizers, we had the fried okra, biscuits and gravy, and deviled eggs. Each item was delicious! Dinners consisted of 2 of the shrimp and grits (best we’ve ever had), short rib hash, lamb cheese steak and short rib grilled cheese. Every person loved their meal and we had one super picky person and one very critical person with us. We will definitely be back!
Excellent cuisine!! Cannot say enough about the food flavors, quality, portions and service. Do not hesitate to make a reservation. Enjoy!!
The atmosphere is great. The staff is friendly. The food is amazing 👏. Love the music 🎶
Great food and vibe! A little more grace needs to be offered for large parties.
The food exceeded my expectations and the staff was impeccably attentive, friendly, and gracious. Our server, Tai, made appetizer and entree recommendations - all of which were incredibly amazing. We had a wonderful gastronomical experience and will surely be back!
It was wonderful from start to finish everyone was very nice and very friendly
Wonderful food. Truly loved every dish!! Great friendly service. My new favorite restaurant.
Amazing food and fun atmosphere. Very authentic southern and delicious cooking. Kind, fast and friendly service
Amazing experience! The food was delicious & given in such large portions! I had the fried catfish, shrimp mac & cheese, yams, & cheddar grits. The service was great. I would definitely come back again!
Food and service was good but don’t appreciate being charged $15 for bringing my own beer to a BYOB restaurant. I can see a corkage fee for wine since the waiter opens it but beer come on..a little ridiculous.
I have only been twice and this will no be one of my new spots to eat all the time, I love it.
You will not be disappointed. You will need a reservation on weekends.
I really enjoyed myself and my man did as well!! Food and service was on point. The music was nice and not too loud. The vibe of the whole place was very inviting. I would definitely go back and try other things on the menu!
Food was excellent. Quite noisy. Recommend that the delicious berry dessert come in saucer rather than on the wood board - it ended up dripping everywhere.
I’ve eaten around the globe in some very great places, a few with two Michelin stars, and this place holds its own. If you’re in the mood for fried chicken, grits, sweet potato pie, etc this little place in Montclair is worth the drive. Service was terrific, decor was fun, music, everything just great. BYOB.
Delicious meal and great service. This place is must for friend and family get togethers
We took my mother-in-law and friend to this restaurant to celebrate my mother-in-laws 85th birthday. The staff was accommodating when I called to increase the party number. They also changed our table when I asked to be moved to a quieter table because I had older people in our group. The food was delicious and the restaurant has a simple yet lovely design. The servers were all professional and polite.
Service was prompt and courteous. Food was delicious!
If you haven’t been you must try. Everything was top notch. Felt like one big family. Have a fabulous time at Motown Sunday. Thank you
The short ribs were awesome
Fantastic place — we all enjoyed the food and are definitely coming back. The woman serving us was excellent as well. Thank you!
My husband and I dined at Sweet T’s on Nov 6, 2021 @ 6:15p before a concert we were attending, so there was no time find another restaurant and be on time for our concert. We were greeted poorly from entering the restaurant. The guy seated us directly in front of the restaurant door, my back was to the door. My husband asked the guy to move us to another available table and he said “No”. When asked why he said it was reserved for 6:30p, that was not the only unoccupied table for two.
I asked my husband if he wanted to leave he said it ok since he didn’t want to disappoint me since this was my restaurant choice. We should have left the food wasn’t good and didn’t live up to the hype on reviews. Cornbread app was recommended it was cold, I had the turkey wings it was edible the dressing was ice cold. My husband had beef ribs you only get two he said it would have tasted better w/bbq sauce that good not runny. We did complain about the food as we didn’t trust it would be handled the right way. Our server Tanisha was very friendly and attentive; too bad she wasn’t the greeter/host.
We will not support Sweet T’s again they showed us that our money was not valued there. By the way they charge 3.99% for using credit/debit cards. If I could have given zeros as a score I would have. I hope my review helps someone else to be aware of what could happen should you decide to patronize Sweet T’s.
Most of the food was really good. One meal came out cold. Service was mediocre. Waitress was not very attentive and dismissed certain questions. They gave us one bill and then charged a different price to the card. When asked, they added a credit card fee. Which we knew about but assumed it was already included in the bill. I would go back but it just wasn’t 5 stars.
The Service was great although we received our food before the drinks which we had to remind the waitress she forgot to bring them out. I was very disappointed with the food it had no taste to it and the creamy grits were very gritty. Mac and Cheese was terrible and the collard greens had no taste just my thought. I would just say try it out yourself before going by my post because everyone taste bud is different. The Catfish was ok it had more corn mill then seasoning on it, Nice Place music was amazing,
Parking was a bit of a nightmare, but we called because we knew we would be over the 15 minute grace period, and the website tells you to call if over that time, but was still given the 15 minute grace period allotted time. That was a little confusing, which resulted in us feeling rushed to eat because of it. The service however, was phenomenal. The atmosphere is small but very nice. Food came out quickly, but steak was fatty, not hot, and just ok. They probably should have seared the steak first. Pulled chicken sandwich was delicious. Sweet potato wasn’t fully cooked. Mac and cheese was really good. Overall we thought the food and ice teas were pretty good. Will definitely return.
Food was absolutely delicious! Can't wait to go back. Staff and service friendly. Fun atmosphere. Just a great experience!
Food was wonderful, service was quick and great. Already looking forward to coming back. Definitely would recommend.
My friends and I visited Sweet T's for the first time today (Sunday). When we first arrived we were turned away because they were booked (make reservations on the weekend). I checked Open Table and we were able to get a table 45 minutes later. When it was time for us to be seated, the hostess and waitress were extremely attentive. They did a wonderful job making us feel seen. When we walked in there was live music which was lovely and when he left, the music didn't stop, it most certainly added to the ambiance. Now, to the food- it was just okay. I was expecting more. I had the salmon cakes over grits. The grits were absolutely delicious! I would get those again. The salmon cakes were mushy inside as if they mixed it too much with the egg and seasoning to hold them together... crispy exterior. The fried chicken was fried to perfection and juicy- would get that again. The mac and cheese, collards, and yams were basic. I LOVE yams so I was disappointed, no syrup in the bowl lol but they were sweet. Eating the yams and mac and cheese together, was pretty good. We also had the beef ribs and potato salad. The beef ribs were tender but needed more bbq sauce (my bestie asked for more). I would get them again. I prefer sweeter potato salad and theirs was heavy on the mustard but not awful. All in all, I'd go back for the fried chicken which I didn't mention is made to order, and the grits because they were simply bomb! I'd give Sweet T's 6 out of 10 stars.
It's also BYOB (wine and beer)
The food was excellent and the staff was courteous and professional. The restaurant is located in a great trendy and upbeat area of Montclair.
The decor is nice but the seating is too close together. The music was loud and made it hard to converse with anyone at the table. The food lacked seasoning, which made it just an average meal. They do not allow food substitution, what’s on the menu is what you get. The waitress got both of my orders wrong, after repeating back twice.
No cash accepted, so your forced to use a debit/ credit card. They charge an additional 4% service fee for using debit/credit. That such an scam.
Great Quality of food made Flesh to order. Love it!
The food service everything was great. A must have is the cornbread with strawberry butter, fried chicken, sweet peach ice T, ok everything lol. Will definitely be back. You won’t be disappointed
Fabulous place to dine. My husband and I had a good time and enjoyed the food, service and ambiance.
Food seemed really bland this time around. I have been in the past and the food was excellent. They must have a new chef. The service was also terrible. Only 1 waitress for the entire restaurant. It took over 1 hour to get our food and we were only a party of 2. Don’t plan to return after this subpar experience.
Well...this is my return visit...brought 3 girlfriends..Bragged about my 1st experience..This time...not so much. brought in 2 bottles of wine..first time..glasses brought immediately. This time had to ask for them while my girls waited at the table.Water spilled on table..not wiped up well...dripped in lap of one diner.Water on floor on opposite side.Brought to server's attention.Nothing done until after we complained to owner. One diner never rec'd her cornbread with meal. I never rec'd my biscuit with my breakfast* didnt say anything because I felt bad to complain, but we had over 115.00 bill...So...constructive criticism never hurts.I will return.Parking is horrendous...please allow for extra time.We made it by "the skin of our teeth". Was informed she was going to cancel our reservations in 3 minutes. Overall..practice makes perfect and I will SUPPORT BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES!
Food was amazing. Staff was very welcoming. I wasn’t aware that I had the make reservations so I arrive 10 mins before opening and had to make online reservations and wait another hour to be seated but the food and service was worth it . I’d go back again.
