Sweet T’s Restaurant + Bar Ratings and Reviews
It was very busy, but a good mixed crowd. We had drinks at the bar before being seated but we couldn't get our bartenders attention before our table was available. When we were seated, we got two different menus with outdated items. The server didn't bring us a second updated menu. We wanted the pulled pork and the brisket- the two main items. They were both unavailable. We both got the tri tip and the food was great. Service was understandably slow because it was busy. But, I went halfway through my main course without wine. We stepped out at an awkward time near the end of our meal but despite telling the staff we would be right back, our table was cleared. We got extra food and the desert was comped, but we really just wanted to leave and it still took twenty minutes for us to get out the door. TLDR: FOOD IS GREAT, SERVICE LEAVES SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED
Can't go wrong! Everything here is fantastic and the service is always terrific. Don't miss the Brussels sprouts as a starter. If you get any of the combo plates expect to have a doggie bag. Creamed corn is as rich as any dessert and all the other sides are delicious as well.
Known for their fried chicken dinners. Mary's chicken, best flavor and local, is used for all their chicken dishes. Yummy smashed potatoes with lots of butter, cream, and garlic. Biscuits with honey butter are the best around. Almost all desserts made on site. We had the angelfood cake with organic strawberries and house whipped cream. Everything was delicious. Oh, I almost forgot the grilled brussel sprouts! A must have appetizer. Wait staff are all very friendly and efficient.
Celebrated my Mother in Laws birthday here. Always way too much food so it's good to share or plan to take leftovers home. My husband says the brisket is better that any that we found on a recent trip to Austin! We love the fried okra! Wasn't a big fan of my Chicken Tortilla salad. It was just so so to me. The others loved their amazing fried chicken and sandwiches!
This place has great food. It's a bit pricey, so not the type of place I go to frequently. Mostly just for special occasions. We went for my fathers birthday. Unfortunately there was a party of six sitting in the booth next to us that was very rowdy. They were in their 50's, very intoxicated and loud. It sort of ruined our experience as we couldn't even hear each other over the noise. No one came out to ask them to quite down. It was also very hot inside. It was hot outside so I looked forward to going inside but it wasn't much better. The brussels sprouts were amazing! I had the salmon with smashed potatoes and spinach. It was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their food.
I love this restaurant. The fried chicken is the best chicken I have ever eaten. Our server Vicky was exceptional. She made us feel so welcome and she takes care of everything. The service was timely and we totally enjoyed our dining experience.
Make sure you have a reservation because the place is usually very busy.
Popped in tonight for an early dinner... lucked out and found seats at the bar. Always enjoy sitting there and chatting with Tim our fav bartender. He makes a mean Martini... thank you Tim! Had an awesome lite dinner of chicken sliders... chicken soup and the rib platter! There is no better smoked barbecue in SR than they have at Sweet T's. My husband and I had a delicious evening !
Exceptional smoked and barbecued meats and the crispy Brussels sprouts and aioli on the appetizer menu were sublime. (Truly... my not fond of sprouts husband was ready to count them out to make sure he got his share!) Creamed corn was a winner, sweet potato hash and slaw were good, and the greens were sickeningly sweet. The young woman who seated us was surely, actually rude to the people who arrive ahead of us. However, our waitress was delightful, incredibly attentive on a very busy Saturday evening, and made sure that my extra dirty martini came to me filthy with 3 olives. I regret that I can not recall her name, as she deserves kudos - maybe Darline?
Of note: I would not choose this venue for hard of hearing guests or an uber romantic evening as this restaurant is always full and always incredibly LOUD. Sweet T's incredible meats and sprouts are worth the noise level in my opinion.
Food and service absolutely wonderful as always. We were a party of six. We arrived at 3pm, we had reservations, and had appetizers, drinks and full meals. We were celebrating having the family together. The only comment is one of the hostesses that kept on eyeing our table and looking at her watch after we were there for about 90 minutes. The waiter had just brought a second round of drinks for a couple of us in our party. She was not the one that sat us so was probably working the evening shift. Two of us are in the industry and were both conscious of the empty tables around us and if anyone was not being seated perhaps to our large party. They seemed to be seating all people appropriately. After the second drinks were finished we left - about two hours for our whole experience. We made reservations early so we could sit and relax and not feel rushed. However it was becoming blatantly obvious by the hostess looking at our table every five minutes that it was time to leave. At that time no one was waiting for a table. The second drinks were definitely not drank at a leisurely pace.
Portabella mushroom sandwich is delicious! Served with potato salad, but there is a list of sides that can be substituted at no extra cost. I would be happier if they didn't charge $2 to substitute a small green salad. Also I would be happier if the music was turned down, especially when the restaurant is half empty. My friends and I were competing with music to talk to each other.
It was a super busy Thursday night but our server, a slightly older but super nice woman, took great care of us. She was very attentive and always had a positive attitude. Probably the friendliest service i've ever had while dining here. Due to the busy night our food seemed to take forever, but I don't fault anyone for that.
