   We waited almost an hour for our food and we were one of only two tables in there! Staff were very nice... but too slow.

   I was very excited for fluffy pancakes and the cafe itself after reading all the good reviews. The place looked ok and I could not wait for my food to come out when I got to sit. The service was underwhelming (I thought it would be more decent and caring) and the food was just alright. I was disappointed. Dishes/tea cup/table were not cleaned properly which made me pretty surprised. Then I wanted to go to washroom and found out that the kitchen was wow messy. Washroom was speechlessly dirtier than the crappy junk food places. The toilet was clogged and the waste can was full of dirty wastes/overflowing. I can’t believe that there is a such business like this in West Van. Also with good reviews. I actually got sick after seeing the kitchen and the washroom. I will never go back here for any reason.

   Food was amazing. Loved the hint of lemon in the fluffy soufflé pancakes. Restaurant space was snug. If you want any a table for dining I would suggest making a reservation. Not sure if group dining is available but call so they can accommodate. Service and ambiance was amazing and they are very accommodating.

   I brought my mom to Sweet Somethings for a little high tea as a birthday gift, since neither of us had done it before. When we walked in I was sure what to expect. I must say the staff was welcoming and humble, the store front was clean, cute and cozy! We enjoyed every moment of being at Sweet Somethings...the food from the avocado toast to the cupcakes and brownies were exceptional. The staff even brought out a full size cupcake with a candle that was decorated so beautifully, I’ve never seen anything like it. Wished I had taken a picture. As we walked out I told my mom that I will definitely be back (can’t wait). Might I add that we drove 45 mins to get here, worth ever minute.

   The place is cute, no doubt. Very Instagram-my. Tiny tiny space, have to continuously be aware not to bump into anything or anyone. Not worth making reservations, food is sub par. The Pancake batter feels not properly mixed, could taste raw egg. The cupcake we had was stale. Disappointed. Will not be visiting again.
