Very nice staff. Interesting decor. Food was great
Great service that honored our request to be out in time for an 8:00 pm performance
We had an awesome experience! Must go to this restaurant!
Lovely establishment. Always a delicious meal and great experience.
Good food. Owner waited on us and was so sweet. Took our order quickly and got food to us quickly since we were going to the show at 8:00 and we were late for our dinner reservation. Cute venue. Would go back to try other dishes.
First time dining at Sweet Lula’s and it a very mixed experience. Food was very good but the service was not so. We were seated at a very nice table upstairs with a server who appeared to have the majority of their tables downstairs. After waiting 10 minutes for her to acknowledge us our food came in a reasonable time and was very good. But she never checked back to see how we were and it was 20 minutes after we had finished before a busboy asked if he could take our plates. By the time our waitress came back to see if we wanted dessert, and we did, we had to decline as we had tickets for a show at the theater across the street (which we did notify our server of when we placed our order). As slow as the service was we were afraid we we would be late for our show. We will try again but not on a show night.
The food was good but nothing special. The restaurant was ill prepared for the pre theater and Valentine's Day crowd, and we waited at the Hostess Stand for almost 10 minutes before anyone assisted.
There are much better BYOB's in the Pitman area so we won't be back.
Date night on valentines night. They were extremely busy and in my opinion overbooked. Staff seemed very overwhelmed but extremely friendly.
Brussels were burnt leaf chips, and creme brûlée was served too cold for my taste and was burnt too thick on what should have been a wafer thin crispy top.
Duck and filet mignon were amazing!
Our waitress was very overwhelmed so another waitress, Dakota, stepped in and helped her. Dakota was lovely and very on the ball.
Overall I felt meh about the dining experience but feel I would want to try it again when it’s not Valentines Day.
Sweet Lula's was our go-to local restaurant for special occasions and out-of-town guests until this meal. The restaurant was clearly not ready for a large Valentine's Day and Broadway show crowd. We waited for 15 minutes to be seated at an early sitting with plenty of empty seats in view, and then the wait for our food was unusually long --- long enough that did not have time for coffee and dessert. The food was also disappointing. The caper sauce on the chicken piccata had 2 capers, and the medium-rare ribeye was more like a well-done flank steak.
This place is understandably hectic before a Saturday night Broadway show. We were seated in about 10 minutes at a nice table by the front window. The servers were running around like their hair was on fire, but managed OK. Our calamari was absolutely overdone and tough. Too bad, the rest of the meal was very good. My pork loin was very tasty and enjoyable. We'll be back, even on a show night.
Always a great meal.
Always great food and wonderful service!
Great little byob in the heart of Pitman, NJ.
Second visit and hopefully not my last.
Service was prompt and helpful, the atmosphere was excellent and busy, the food was excellent; we had salmon with crab and scallops and shrimp, both delicious. Dessert was Banana Fritter awesomeness! You can’t beat the atmosphere. We will be back for another meal.
Three out of four entrees were delicious. Interesting variety on the menu. Seemed overpriced in general. Very loud. Recommend with some hesitancy....
Food was not hot. Vegetables were dry and unappealing. I have been there many and took people who had never been there and it was probably the worst meal I had ever had.
Nice place, polite waitress, food was good. Byob always good. Would go again
Happy to find this BYOB in South Jersey. Food was great and loved the atmosphere.
The food was great and I enjoyed the nostalgic atmosphere of the restaurant which sits on the main drag of a small town.
Our visit was very disappointing to say the least. We did not care for the ambiance and all of the food was either overcooked, undercooked, or just not very good. For the money we spent, the value is definately not there.
My friend and I had a wonderful dining experience last night thanks to Sweet Lulas! They have so many things on their menu that you normally wouldn’t see at every restaurant, for a dinner special they even had venison!! 😊
We had to try the crab avocado fritter and Brussels for our appetizer after all the great recommendations from our server. My ribeye was cooked A perfect medium rare and the presentation was fabulous! We were so full, but after seeing the dessert menu along with the specialty coffee drink menu we had to try something! My salted caramel cappuccino paired perfectly with the chocolate chip bread pudding! Thank you again for a great evening with great service and phenomenal food! We will definitely be back! If you come to Pitman this is a must for lunch or dinner!
Thank you so much!
Great space, all-American town and a new chef going for the gusto! Needs late diners -- see you there!
Such a little gem on a cute street...food was fantastic and menu just the right size to be confident you would love your choices. Portions were appropriate and service was very congenial but not overbearing. Will definitely be returning!!!
Such a delightful place the food was so yummy I think most probably the best quiche I’ve ever had and the service was very attentive and polite . I can’t wait to return for dinner with my husband and girlfriends
Thank you so much!
Food was out of this world. Highly recommend. Our server was amazing too.
Thank you so much!
Great food! We dined upstairs. It was quiet
Over booked. Waitress couldn’t keep up therefore had to wait for food. Not very attentive. Noise level is loud. Usually enjoy this place.... must of been an off night. Food was good.
So sorry about your experience. The Elvis Show at the Broadway Theatre is a sold out show every year and we try our very best to accommodate everyone. We hope you try us again on a normal night!
Delicious food and outstanding waitress Rose!!!
Thank you so much for joining us :)
This was my first time at Sweet Lula's after hearing so many good things from friends I had to try it for myself. The hostess Lula greeted my husband and I promptly and seated us at a cute table in the window. She welcomed us and gave us a quick background on the restaurant which was so unexpected and made us feel so special (especially with a full dining room). Our waitress was very informed and recommended a few crowd pleasers. We started with the Avocado Fritter so yummy, I ordered the Crab Basa and my husband had the Duck and of course dessert to share... the Banana Fritter OMG. My husband hasn't stopped talking about the duck breast! He says its the best he has ever had. Everything we had was so delicious and the service was so prompt and friendly. Lula even introduced us to Chef Anthony after dinner. This truly was an amazing dinner experience. I highly recommend this place!
Thank you so much! Bring your friends next time you visit!
We had the best dinner on NYE! The food is amazing- the stuffed basa is to die for and the filet melts in your mouth. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu as it is alll cooked to order. Also if you are lucky, you may hear Lula sing!
Thank you for joining us NYE! Hope to see you next year :)
Food was unreal, whatever sauce the shrimp was made in was amazing
We love the shrimp too!!
Just horrible. The waitress was a sweet girl. But ordered a caprese salad at 620. Didn’t arrive until 7. Yup. That long for mozzarella and tomato and my chicken. Had to use my husbands steak knife to cut my chicken. Yup. It’s a shame. We needed a new restaurant to eat. It will not be that one.
It was our first night on Opentable, we were having implementation issues. Wish you had told us about the chicken, we could have easily made you a new dish. We are a small family restaurant, we are trying our best everyday to improve.
