Sweet Agave Bar & Grill
Favorite restaurant in DC. Great food. Great service. Love it!
Always delivers-Service, food, value, ambiance
Food was exceptional. A little bit in the noisy side, but to be expected with such a kid friendly environment. Excellent value.
Great experience. Good food, good service. Will come back again!
A group of college friends gathered for a mini reunion and we could not have picked a better spot. Sweet Agave was perfect -- delicious fresh food, friendly servers, great cocktails, and an atmosphere conducive to talking. I will definitely be returning with my family and friends .
The house margaritas are always welcome and the fajita platter hits the spot.
Birthday. Great birthday cake and candle
Enjoyed the live music
We had a big group for a confirmation celebration--food was awesome and service as well!
Delicious carnitas tacos!
Delicious mole and Cadillac margaritas
They were super busy so we waited a long time for our food. But the staff is lovely and the food excellent.
We are very excited to see that your restaurant is doing well! Food was great and service is commendable. Good luck !!
Great BBQ Ribs and Fajitas, Cook made special shrimp dish for my wife who is gluten and garlic intolerant which she loved.
Great neighborhood place! The food was good, ambience very cute, and service was excellent. I definitely will be back!
Great margaritas! Nice neighborhood bar/restaurant
This was our second trip to Sweet Agave. We went to get a bite before going dancing at Glen Echo Park. We love the food, and the table service is very friendly. This salsa that comes free with fresh chips is especially delicious. I had some delicious fish tacos, and my partner enjoyed the enchiladas carnitas. This time, the restaurant was very busy, and it took a long time to get our meal. Our server volunteered to take one entree off the bill, which we thought was way more than required, but very kind. We will definitely be back soon.
We has a great dinner here, everybody was very content and happy! The frozen margarita strawberry is a real tip!!!!
Sweet Agave is coming along nicely as a neighborhood go-to. Quiet, friendly, attentive service, good Tex/Mex food. Highly recommend the fish tacos. And the Margaritas.
Fajitas are very good and sizzling, welcome addition to neighborhood eats. Chef accommodated wife's garlic free request.
Hidden gem. Went during Happy Hour so crowds were not an issue. Service was great, food very good, although neighborhood setting makes parking a challenge. Will definitely go back.
Good food, friendly, family friendly atmosphere, friendly service. Nice to have this place in the neighborhood.
I have come to expect good food, friendly and attentive service from servers/ bartenders who recognize me. That’s exactly what i got tonight! As always the staff is friendly and welcoming. They greeted me with a smile, a menu and and immediately asked me what I would like to order. The attentive nature of the staff is fantastic. Another good experience! Thank you!
Another good meal at Sweet Agave! Becky greeted me and my friend with a smile! She was warm and welcoming and so was the rest of the staff. As always the experience was solid. Becky is friendly and easy to talk to. The other servers and support staff are friendly and welcoming. This is a great neighborhood spot and I’m so happy it’s here in the neighborhood! Thanks Becky!
This is the second time I’ve come into Sweet Agave, and again Becky was behind the bar. I walked in not knowing there was a big party going on. There was a great energy in the room with everyone socializing and eating/ drinking. Everyone’s energy in the room was amazing thanks to the staff and the kitchen. Becky seems so comfortable behind the bar and giving everyone good service. A fun night with good food! I’m definitely going to be back soon. Thank you to the back of the house for another good meal!
A good experience. The food was good. The service was good. The atmosphere was good. I will be back! Becky was the bartender and she was nice and able to answer questions I had about the food and recommend the patron margarita. I think this is a good neighborhood place and I’ll be back soon! Thank you!
Authentic food, gracious and friendly service, fun and relaxing setting - ALL Around Five Stars! *
Great neighborhood spot for friendly service and good tacos.
We have been there several times in the past and always enjoyed the food and thought the service was fabulous. The waitstaff we had in the past was always extraordinarily welcoming and friendly. They were also very flexible on the menu and offered to do anything we wanted however we wanted it. This time, however, someone knew was on the premises and destroyed the whole evening, a Father’s Day dinner. She was argumentative, competitive, rigid and forgetful. She neglected to bring one of the appetizers. She told me something couldn’t be done and then pestered me about whether I wanted it, how I wanted it, the conditions under which I would accept it, how I wanted it, all eliciting the same answer She later returned with more of the same badgering. She brought me the dish the way I had originally hoped to get it, but it was inedible. Part of it was raw. There was some strange substance in it that made it stringy. When she was pleasant, at her own whim, she was intrudingly so. She overplayed the niceness that it bordered sarcasm. I will stay away from this restaurant an amount of time that might give her an opportunity to leave, be trained or be fired.
We enjoyed fish tacos and camarones a la Agave. In a cuisine that sometimes seeks fire over flavor, both of these showed care and creativity, with the focus on taste. Both were accompanied by rice and veggies--with the shrimp, a large helping of steamed carrots, broccoli, asparagus etc. that was delicious. Good selection of beer and wine.
This restaurant is wonderful. I took my two kids under 12 there on a Monday night at 6:00pm. We were encouraged by the good reviews and wanted to give a local new restaurant a chance.
It was quiet due to the time and extremely pleasant. Our waitress was kind and patient. The menu was complete.
Delicious and simple. Complimentary chips and salsa arrived at the table immediately.
We started with the Mexican corn ( it was beautiful and roasted). Got all the toppings on the side and it was really nicely presented.
All sauces and tortillas made in house. Salsa was perfect. Mild but super tasty and light.
I had shrimp tacos with lime. Light and so refreshing.
Mole chicken enchiladas that almost tasted like dessert. So cocoa and cinnamony. Everyone loved them.
We got a seasoned skirt steak with an over easy egg on it. Egg was perfect and the steak was cooked well and not too tough.
Desserts looked great but I was so full. Def a family friendly place. Had two house margaritas that were some of the best I ever had. Very reasonable prices.
My new favorite Mexican local hangout.
I've been here twice - and really enjoyed this neighborhood gem both times. What staff very pleasant, food very fresh and tasty. I was glad to see that they are getting busier - it's a great place for families and couples alike. I'm planning on going back soon with the rest of the family!
Love this place. Total hidden gem.
In a word it was terrible except for the guacamole. Fajitas were over cooked and veggies soggy. Drinks were a weak poor. Restaurant not clean. Waitress terrible . I would not suggest this restaurant ant to anyone for anything. Stay home.
First time there. Mexican food!
Excellent fajitas and chicken with mole sauce, as well as margaritas, chips, and salsa. Excellent , responsive, and friendly service as well. Nice and welcoming atmosphere. Great new option for dining in upper NW DC area.
We had good draft IPAs. I had ribs; my husband had chicken fajitas. We both enjoyed our meals. They were inexpensive and good. Portion size was just right. The wait staff couldn't have been more attentive or nicer. We will definitely return.
Nice alternative to Uncle Julio's - far less chaotic and tasty, reasonably-priced Tex-Mex.
We really enjoyed our first time visiting this newly opened Tex Mex restaurant. My two boys shared a kids chicken quesadilla; loaded with cheese and chicken, they devoured it! My wife really loved her spinach quesadilla; as a vegetarian she doesn’t always feel she has great options at restaurants, but she found the veg range at Sweet Agave to be quite good. My chicken taco salad was delicious and a very satisfying portion. SG has a nice neighborhood feel to it as a restaurant- we will definitely come back.
