ATMOSPHERE: I'm unsure if this is standard, but when I dined in on 05/24/2025 there was no air conditioning and no fans. The front and side door were fully open, I'm assuming to assist with the heat. However, it was over 90 degrees outside so it was still uncomfortably warm. Also, because the doors were open, there were flies flying around which was annoying. PRICING: I looked at the menu beforehand on the restaurant's website prior to going, which also included prices. However, the menu inside the restaurant had updated prices that were drastically different. For example, the Short Rib & Parmesan Cream pasta was listed at $34 on the website's menu, however inside the restaurant it was listed at $42. I thought the upcharging was a bit ridiculous as well. For the French 75 cocktail, it was an additional $2 to add St. Germain. For the sticky toffee pudding, it was an additional cost to add ice cream. Of note, I've never seen an upcharge for the addition of ice cream with this dessert at any other restaurant I've ordered it at. FOOD/DRINK: The French 75 was delicious. The beef tallow candle and focaccia were lacking flavor and underdelivered on the ingredients that it supposedly contained. The focaccia was also toasted and not soft like I usually expect of the bread. The Short rib parmesan pasta was absolutely delicious. The sticky toffee pudding had an odd, offputting texture that made it difficult to enjoy, especially without the standard ice cream. SERVICE: The restaurant is small so there was 1 server for most tables. Still, the service was subpar and it was difficult to grab the server's attention for my own table, even though I saw him constantly look toward other tables and making sure they were taken care of. OVERALL: The drink and entree were enjoyable at this restaurant, but I don't think it was worth the price, especially to be dining without air conditioning and having to swat flies. I didn't stay as long as I would have liked because it was so hot.

Have been here twice and the food is consistently good and service attentive. Environment is very comfortable and soothing. We will be back to dine again

Do not make a reservation here late Saturday evenings. They won’t have ingredients for many of the dishes you try to order. You’ll have to settle for what they have available or find another place to eat at 10 PM. Only bright side, drinks were good.

My husband found this restaurant on Yelp, and we decided to take his mom out for a special Mother’s Day dinner. We drove 30 minutes to get here, excited after reading so many great reviews — but unfortunately, we left extremely disappointed. To start on a positive note, the focaccia was genuinely delicious. However, that was the only highlight. The service was the biggest letdown and ultimately ruined the experience. We ordered a bottle of wine as soon as we were seated and didn’t receive it until 45 minutes later — after having to follow up twice. During our entire meal, we were never checked on, had to flag someone down just to get water and more bread, and felt completely ignored while surrounding tables received attentive service. For a $200 meal for three people, we expected a much better level of hospitality. We also made a reservation through OpenTable, so this wasn’t a last-minute walk-in situation. The rest of the food was underwhelming. The Caesar salad, strangely, included tomatoes and didn’t resemble a Caesar at all. We were even charged extra for bread despite the long wait and lack of service, with no apology or acknowledgment from staff. All in all, this was a really frustrating experience and felt like a complete waste of time and money. We had hoped for a lovely evening out and left feeling disappointed and unvalued. I don’t understand how this place has the reviews it does. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

My husband and I had dinner and it was an absolute treat! We ordered the Italian egg rolls for an appetizer, short rib pasta for an entree and biscoff banana pudding for dessert. We enjoyed every dish. From presentation, to flavor, they didn’t miss a step. Our server was also very attentive and made excellent recommendations. The music coupled with the decoration created an amazing ambiance that was a blend of romantic and intimate, yet fun and upbeat. This place is perfect for a date night, night out with friends, or a night you’re just in the mood for great food from a local spot. I can’t wait to return!

Swank on Beckley. A neighborhood bar and grill. It’s so much more than that. It’s simple elegance. It’s delicious bounty. It’s laughter shared between two best friends, love shared on a date night, memories shared around a table of old acquaintances. Chef Luke Rogers has an absolute gem on his hands. You don’t feel like you’re being “waited” on there…..you’re being “taken care” of by the best of the best. The staff knows that Chef puts his all into the kitchen and they put their all into service. From my last dinner there, a staff member remembered me and stopped by my table to speak and ask how everything was and hoped we were having a great night. The fact that it’s in a renovated home, only brings all the moments together….and just look at that bread! Focaccia, fresh on the inside, baked to perfection with mozzarella and garlic in a white wine creamy caper sauce.

Everything was absolutely wonderful. Our only problem was that I believe there was a language barrier between us & the server. We had to ask for things multiple times before he was able to get it. As always, food was perfect & love the ambiance.
