Great food, Great drink, awesome service! We chatted with the manager for probably half a hour out Kenya, as we have an upcoming trip there soon. He was super helpful, gave us recommendations, and made our experience that much better.

Excellent all across the board. Wonderful food/staff.

Clean and spacious environment

The food was really tasty, and excellent. We did not wait to long to get the food and the portion was well served.
The dining room has multiple rooms, hence you can be seated in a quiet space.
The decor is a simple african style, and the music was modern and not overwhelming to hear one another talk without screening.

Lovely food. The waitress tutu was very helpful especially with giving us a detailed explanation of the menu. Bathrooms were very clean.

I wanted to love this place, especially since the restaurant touted itself as upscale African food. I ate amazingly delicious food while in Tanzania so I was looking forward to good food in a classy atmosphere. I was partly rewarded as some of the interior, as shown on the website, is beautiful. Unfortunately there is also a wall sized TV of what seem to be ads for beautiful African women. To what end, I was uncertain. I found it to be tacky and funny, not in keeping with the restaurant as advertised. The waitress was super ; friendly, helpful and timely. I loved my lentil stew and ate every bite. My family ate their food but didn’t rave about it, I think that they were satisfied. Wish that it was more African in atmosphere with less entertainment.

Omg the food amazing
It was 10 of us and we ordered nearly everything and it was bomb. The fish is the best and the hot sauce I wanted to have some for myself at home but I remembered my mom had made some herself. But everything is “fantastico ”

Loved the ambience and the food! I went with my husband for his birthday. I will be returning with my sister because I think she'll enjoy it as well!

The ambiance was a vibe in itself, relaxed yet upbeat- the music was just right- if you came in with a not so great mood you can bet on leaving in better spirits- be it due to the food, drinks, music or all around vibe.

The food is very tasty and portions are large. The curry sauce on the tilapia and the sides have wonderful spices and flavor. The service is attentive and knowledgeable.

The ambiance has a neon night club vibe. It is comfortable and intimate in the dining room.

Also all food is Halal!

Awesome “underground” spot. Have walked by numerous times but finally reserved a spot on Valentine’s Day for a party of 4 and it exceeded expectations. Service was wonderful, and ambiance and decor was on point, making you feel like you might actually be in a nice restaurant in Kenya!
Food was delicious and great portions. Would come back or even order food to go! 10/10 recommend!

Swahili village was a welcome surprise. I have been wanting to visit for years and the interior was beautiful, spacious and well thought out. The service and food were equally exceptional.

Had a fabulous time with my SO for our one year dating anniversary on 11/17 around 7pm. I don’t recall our servers’ names but they were fantastic and took some great pics for us. The fish and goat meals were so tender and flavorful! The wing appetizer was also sublime! Will be back, thank you!

Swahili Village is a great spot for any occasion (birthday celebration, date night, dinner with friends/family, etc). The restaurant has a warm intimate ambience that is relaxing with the feel of a lounge or a club. The food wasn’t that great (just my opinion) but it could have been what I ordered. The service was amazing which is hard to find!

I had never had Swahili food before. After getting good news at work, my partner and I decided to do something different from our normal restaurants, so we decided to go to Swahili Village: the Consulate for a nice dinner.

We are both avid foodies, but we each ranked our meal from Swahili Village as one of the top 5 meals we've ever had; it was that amazing! We had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day, and all of the staff were incredibly nice and offered good advice on which items to try.
We will definitely be going back!

Great experience. I’ve been here twice and the food has been excellent each time.

The ambience was great, the level of noise was moderate and the food was okay only because it came out warm not hot and we also found stone/ glass in one of our orders.

Blown away by the food and service at Swahili Village. Started with the Bhajia which was incredible and also got the chicken Kuku Curry and Mbuzi Kaanga, both of which were fantastic but the Kuku Curry especially was to die for. The waiters/waitresses were extremely nice and the owner also stopped by our table to chat for a bit. I will definitely be going back soon.

VERY tasty food. Highly recommend the Samosas and the goat dishes. The fare featured all local dishes and showcased Kenyan cuisine. The drinks on the menu included a local Kenyan beer and South African wine. They have outdoor dining which is a plus. Also the owner spoke with us, and he is very passionate about his restaurant. The staff are very knowledgeable and able to offer recommendations.

Overall a great experience! Our server was extremely helpful with navigating the menu and pairing sides that would complement our meals. The food was flavorful and the portion size was generous. Ambiance is perfect for a date night or fun night our with friends. Definitely going back with friends soon.

Experiencing Swahili Village was life changing! I’m so disappointed in myself for not coming here sooner.
Everything was perfect. The ambiance, service, but most importantly the food.
The samosas were perfect. The best I’ve ever had. My entree mbuzi kaanga, has made the list of the best things I’ve ever eaten. All I can say is wow. I will definitely be returning often.

I loved it, I really enjoyed my time there. The music and food was just great!!
