Delicious food with excellent service in a casual dining environment. Everything is made from scratch and is truly authentic Indian food. The owners are very gracious and we will certainly dine here again.
Been there often and food and service are consistently excellent.
This is a casual neighborhood restaurant -- simple decor but with excellent Indian food and good service.
A better than average store front Indian. Food is excellent, there's a reason why they pack you in on a Saturday night! Bonus celebrity siting: Billie Jean King with overcoat on at a table next to the front door on a cold night.
We had a really good meal here! Reasonably priced and good portions. The lamb curry and saag paneer was delish.
This is our go-to Indian restaurant on the UWS...the standard menu prepared very well and served by a very nice and competent wait staff.
A neighborhood standby. Food is reliable & quite good. You can also carry on a conversation which is a treat.
Swagat is always wonderful! Their dal are amazing. I would eat here every day if i could.
I love this place, the food is delicious and the service is great.
Pleasant and comfortable but the owner is a little over zealous on menu additions!
Great place. Always very fresh, well prepared food. Great selection of vegetable, fish, meat dishes. Excellent service--very tasty.
The menu has been updated and everything was delicious!
Stopped in during Thanksgiving and I couldn’t be happier that I did! The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. Menu is also very vegetarian friendly. Couldn’t resist dessert! Definitely would recommend! Thank you for making the holiday wonderful!
This is our go-to Indian place on the UWS. Food and service are both great. Friendly neighborhood spot.
Great spot. We were staying at the Art House just down the street. My Son goes to Columbia and is a fan of Indian Food. I told him to check it out! I think he will love it!
I've been eating here for years and it has solid Indian food (corroborated by a close Indian friend). However, we made an Open Table reservation and arrived a few minutes before the appointed time to find that they were full, all tables had just ordered, and there would not be room for us or the other party of 3 who had a reservation for "at least 15 to 20 minutes". The host tried to blame it on "the online system". I'll go back to dropping by to see when they have room rather than counting on reservations...
Food was great and service was excellent. I would definitely come back again
Consistently delicious food; quiet and pleasant dining room; good service; excellent prices.
Good Indian food! I enjoyed my meal here. Both the food and service were very good.
My wife and I are big fans of Indian food and eat it frequently. We think Swagat is a real gem. Everything we had was excellent. The service was timely, friendly and competent - all one could ask for. We are not talking a high end white tablecloth establishment hear, just a friendly, neighborhood place with excellent food at a good price. Perfect. (I'm sorry that the rating scale here is only 1 - 5. If 1 - 10 I would rate Swagat a 9 for what it is.
Delicious food. The restaurant is small on a busy night. Little sound proofing to dim the ambient noise so talking to one another was a challenge at times. However, everything we ate was quite good, particularly the breads.
Great place--excellent selection, reasonable prices, and everything is very fresh and tasty. Great breads, tikka, tandoori, vegetables....
Food continues to impress! I look forward to trying more of the menu.
Consistently good! Very pleasant service!
Small, cozy Indian restaurant. Food was high quality and satisfying. Service prompt.
Achari tandoori chicken tikka...we had to order a second one it was so good.
Such a wonderful Indian restaurant - it's been here for years, but I've just discovered it recently! Everything I've had that they make (and I've tasted my husband's and my friend's choices) has ben delicious! The Butter Chicken, the baby eggplants in coconut milk, the garlic naan, their samosas....yummy. And their wine is quite tasty - not extraordinary, but perfectly okay and drinkable!
Better to visit for lunch instead of dinner. Hands down best Indian testaurant in the 10 block radius
Wonderful Indian restaurant on the Upper West Side on Amsterdam Avenue. We have been there many times. I always make a reservation when we are going to be in NYC. They have the best garlic naan I have ever tasted.
Service was good,
Food was exceptional.
The food is always good, but this was a sweltering evening and the air condition wasn't working.
This place is great. Excellent food, good selection of choices, freshly prepared. Reasonable prices and very attentive service.
Swagat is an excellent choice for a casual, neighborhood Indian restaurant. The food was delicious and the service very good.
This is a small restaurant with a powerful kitchen. Their sauces were perfectly spiced and reminded us of the local places in Northern India. Service is helpful and friendly and the pricing fair. A great neighborhood oasis for fine fare.
Food excellent, reasonably priced. Only negatives were red wine served too warm, and tables too close together. Overall, a small busy restaurant with very good food reasonably priced, and attentive service.
Incredible service and great food in a fun, intimate atmosphere!
simi made us feel like visiting family, the service was friendly, warm and efficient. the food was delicious and the portion size matched the dollar value.
Delicious, unusual variety of food; extremely friendly and kind staff, low noise level; I would and do come again and again
Always reliable Indian food with friendly service at this neighborhood joint
On y mange bien. Ne pas s’attendre à plus.
