Suzume is a Hawaiian style mall food court inspired by Japanese and Filipino influenced dishes. Check out the full bar for sake, cocktails and beer, including the Kona Big Wave, Matsurika Pilsner, and Other Half Brewing Poetry Snaps. We offer a variety of small plates that's great for sharing; Syd's bok choy & peashoot salad, spicy butter wings with ginger yogurt dipping sauce, crispy rice salmon or tuna, and fried chicken bao with a buttermilk dressing. Noodle bowls available, such as the ginger scallion mazeman, salmon ramen, pork ramen, and the Hawaiian fried chicken rice bowl. Suzume uses responsibly caught, traceable seafood, pork from antibiotic-free Berkshire hogs and organic chicken in their recipes. When the weather allows, outdoor seating is available for the Spring and Summer months. Suzume's close neighbor is the infamous Metropolitan Bar, where you can dance to live DJs spinning great tunes, sing your heart out on karaoke nights, and catch amazing drag shows.

A truly underwhelming culinary experience. I had high hopes and expectations based on the reviews and the “matter of fact” approach to the menu. Typically when a menu is this limited the dishes are sublime because they perfected the technique and flavors, however I found myself feeling completely grossed out in moments. The agadashi tofu was by far the simplest yet worst executed. I felt like it was rolled in wheat flour and fried in cold vegetable oil. No flavor no seasoning, poorly prepared and not feature worthy. This is not a culinary destination at all. It is a neighborhood dive.

We never claim to be a culinary destination. Those are your expectations and what you expect us to be. We are and have always been a neighborhood restaurant. We will do our best to "perfect" the very simple Agedashi tofu so as to not gross out any further guests who continue to support our small business.

Great food and the owner was fantastic! I went for a small dinner with my son and his uncles for his 13th bday. Will definitely go back!

The spicy butter wings alone will keep me coming back. Justice was a great bartender/server, and Jill, the owner, is so welcoming that this immediately became one of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. I can't wait to go back to try the Himachi collar.
