Delicious Easter brunch. We had the luxurious eggs benedict and a braised lamb shank that was falling off the bone. We also loved the fresh squeezed juices for the mimosas.
Cozy little dining room in a quiet East Side neighborhood. The menu is limited but imaginative, and we enjoyed our meal. This is a "no tipping" restaurant, which may explain why service was at the low end of ordinary. Recommended.
One of my most favorite places! Take special people there!
Sutton Inn is a sparkling gem of a restaurant. The food was sublime and robust, delicate and yet full of flavor. All staff where completely attentive and yet unobtrusive. I would definitely recommend coming here for more than a special occasion.
The food was delicious; the servers were great; the ambiance was quiet, candle-lit. We had a lovely time.
Very good food, dependable
Friendly and quiet. Food was very good and I like the no tipping policy.
Our salads and grilled fish were excellent. We over did it on the delicious desserts. Great food and good service.
Great neighborhood restaurant, lovely quiet sophisticated ambience with very good food and attentive service.
Five stars! Excellent service, outstanding cuisine. A neighborhood gem!
I asked for my Arctic Char fish to be done a certain way, and it was exceptional!
As good as the food was and always is, our waitress was horrible. From the faces she made every time she walked away from the table, to servers not knowing who got what food or drink (we had to call them back as they walked away with food). Then there was the creepiness of her standing there while we settled the bill amongst ourselves. This was the only time she was attentive!
We loved everything about the Sutton Inn a wonderful experience!
Excellent food and service. Top notch. It doesn’t get better. Thank you.
Please confirm my 1200 points.
Waited so long for dessert, we left without it.
Cozy, romantic setting with excellent food and energetic service.
Excellent food, comfortable seating. For special occasions
Love love it! Amazing
Always a delicious dinner. Reliable and consistent.
Best duck in NY !!!!!
A wonderful informal neighborhood restaurant. The creative chef offers a good choice of menu items and service is pleasant. There are both prix fixe and a la carte menus and all prices include the gratuity. When crowded, the noise level is high and the service deteriorates.
Food is fabulous, first visited on a Thursday and went back the following Tuesday!
Even our table full of foodies found the food and service outstanding. The ambience is great—right mix of intimate, sophisticated and cozy.
Food, service, ambience all very good. The food is always fresh and beautifully prepared. Tip is included which I liked.
Excellent food and service. Expensive, but in line in NYC.
Very delicious dinner! All of the ingredients were first-rate and excellently prepared. The combination of ingredients in the salad was interesting, and very tasty. The highlight was the fish, both Arctic Char and Cod, which were very carefully prepared, excellent quality and really good!
Very pleasant, sophisticated but not over-complicated food, cosy atmosphere, good service with gratuities included
Fabulous as always. Tremendous value for the quality of food. It certainly deserves its Michelin rating!
Romantic.....intimate...expert presentation of every dish. We have spent the last three Valentines Day wknds here @ The Sutton Inn and will return every year thereafter. Each menu selection we have tried over three annual visits have been carefully curated and executed, most recently w/ Scott's beet soup ( and I really do not care for beets at all but I was curious how Scott would create this soup). It was on par w/ previously tried potato/leek soup and last years pumpkin/squash soup. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her risotto as well.
Three minor suggestions... please play the Miles/Coltrane music from our first visit in 2017....institute some semblance of a dress code for the men i. e. @ least a washed tshirt not slept in and lower the price per pint of take home ice cream to $10 -12; what we brought back to our midtown suite was not worth $15/pint. Again only minor points that in no way diminished our dining experience nor our annual rekindling of our 30+ yr romance.
Food was great but service staff was clearly overwhelmed on Valentine’s Day. Drink orders and wine pairings didn’t show up at all without multiple reminders.
Lovely and special Valentine’s Day meal. Attentive service and exceptional food. Pricey but expected
Great food, ambience & service - one of us had Prix Fixe and the other off of the menu - everything was delicious and the Cod was a highlight.
We also appreciate this is a no-tipping restaurant - makes prices that much more reasonable for the quality, and more importantly to the experience - we knew who our wait person was, and every member of the staff was paying attention without being intrusive.
Good food and nice ambiance
We have been here several times and have not been disappointed. I had the Arctic Char and my wife had the Sea Bass. Both excellent as was the baby bok choy side. After we had the 3 scoops of ice cream/sorbet of our choice which finished off a fine meal. Our waiter and staff were extremely friendly and attentive. We will continue to return.
Found it to be extremely cold, temperature-wise. No one checked to make sure our meal was adequate. Our meal was satisfactory. When you remove the incentive, (tip), you remove the incentive.
Katie the server and the entire staff was amazing! Five stars! 💯
Good food but pricey for a neighborhood place.
Attractive, comfortable space with excellent food and outstanding service on a quiet street (East 54th). The pre fixe menu is good value with three courses for $59.
A very nice restaurant in a very comfortable brownstone on East 54th just off of First Avenue.
Nice crowd. Very good food. Service that works, but could be a bit more attentive.
A very nice choice if you are looking for a delicious lunch or dinner in a very comfortable setting.
