Sutro's at the Cliff House - San Francisco

Only if they want to spend a lot of money. The views are great and the food was good. Just very expensive
Another beautiful day at lunch on the coast. Service was impeccable, food was outstanding. My date and I went for a hike then came back to watch the gorgeous CA sunset at the bar. All around perfect day!
Fabulous view and the server was great too. Food tasted great since we didn’t like salty food. Just the portion might be a little small and we ended up ordering one more entree. Price wise, it’s 20% higher than similar restaurants in SF, but the view is worhty that additional 20%. In general, awesome experience
Our family just had a lovely dinner at Sutro's. There were 9 of us and they easily accomodated us at a long table against the wall with banuette seating and perfect views of the ocean/sunset for everyone. The Food and Service were excellent. We will definitely return.
Great views in the restaurant. Servers were attentive and very nice. It feels a bit touristy but the views are worth it. Food was a pleasant surprise but menu is limited. Definitely visit the Sutro’s baths while your there.
My husband and I went for brunch on Sunday and had an excellent meal. We both had the Croque Madame and finished everything. The service was wonderful, and the view is amazing! There was a buffet brunch upstairs which was very crowded, and we were happy we were downstairs at Sutro’s. We were visiting from CT, and we would definitely go back there again next time we travel West. Highly recommend!
We had the best seat in the house, so that was amazing! Two individuals from my party ordered the huevos rancheros and brother if then were impressed. The waiter was not very bright and took forever to bring us anything we asked for (except for ketchup for my son).
My wife and I went there for Valentine’s Day dinner. The food was good. We ordered a Kumamoto live oysters, duck breast and confit and pork chop to share and a bottle of 2010 Harmonique pinot noir. The view is spectacular. You just need to be there on a clear day before sunset to see the view. The service was good. The only problem is the guest WiFi connection did not work and there is no cell phone signal inside. We took Uber there, and had to stay out in the cold to get cell phone signal to call the ride!
Really great food, service, and view. The only thing I would complain about is the parking. Other than that great!!
The heating system in the entire restaurant was out of commission, so every diner ate in their coats and scarves and tried to enjoy the food and the view. While our waiter was very polite and informed us of the situation as we took our seat, it would have been much better if Sutro's or OpenTable had contacted those of us with reservations to alert us of the problem. We would have dressed more warmly.
Not bad. Get the crab cakes. Lamb was delicious, ravioli wasn’t worth it.
Super good pork chop, good service. On the expensive side but worth the expense. Make sure you reserve for a sunset meal.
This was the perfect retreat after a long work week.
Had ricotta ravioli today. Tasty.
At first glance it was nice but then I used the restroom it was filthy and no TP. Then I was sat in an isle so my elbows were in the way of the ever passing servers. I was there for my birthday but it was also Valentine’s Day so I expect some disappointment but it was a waste of time could not wait to leave. It was cold in there and I was seated next to people I didn’t know in an isle where they seemed to of added a table. The food was ok but was served in dishes that made it difficult to cut and enjoy in bites I would normally eat and while cutting my elbows are being bumped by passing workers. The carpet was filthy as well I would not recommend.
Would always recommend this place, dinner was awesome.
Went for a special St. Valentine day lunch.
Awsome night, romantic, beautiful and great food. Service was outstanding.
Excellent service, fabulous view, will go there again definitely.
The Cliff House was an unexpected fine dining experience. Arriving at sunset (not a consideration when booking), having Michael as our waiter, experiencing local cuisine at it's finest made for a perfect evening.
We had a great dinner and the views are fantastic. We enjoyed the experience very much
My wife and I were visiting the Legion of Honor Museum in SF and were considering a place to go for a late lunch. For many years, I had heard about the Cliff House but I had never been there. I used Open Table to obtain a reservation approximately one hour before I planned to be there. We parked at a lot close by (which was much easier than anticipated) and walk for a few minutes to the restaurant. The views were magnificent, the service was very friendly but not over bearing and the food spectacular. Although our meal was not inexpensive, it was much more reasonable than I had anticipated for such a well-known restaurant. I highly recommend the Cliff House.
Problems with the heat. It was very cold and staff said heat was out. We sat with coats and scarfs on throughout the meal. Food was absolutely dull.
The presentation of the corn beef & eggs was as beautiful as it was delicious!
The hostess at the front was snarky and rude.
we had a great time. server was great and attentive.
One of our favorite restaurant and bar for happy hour and sunday brunch is great🤗, always come's here when we have a chance. Celebrated my 50th birthday dinner here with my wife and kids. Great service and great view and location🍷.
It was pretty cold during dinner in February. Great food! It took me 15 minutes to get a menu with soft drinks :(
The views on a clear day are phenomenal. The food was very good as usual. Only complaint this time was that it was cold in the restaurant. We all wore our coats while eating and even then it felt cold.
everything was spot on. beautiful dining views. The food was exactly as requested. The martini's on point.
Absolutely!!! Everything was just wonderful! No disappointments! Even the sun came out!! I'll be back!!
We have tried to get in to Sutro's for awhile now and it was well worth the wait. Our server Kevin was fabulous. Warm and friendly. Food was beyond excellent.
I had indicated on the reservation that it was a special occasion (38th wedding anniversary) which was noted by the maitre d but not acknowledged by the server. Unfortunate
Food was very good but long wait times between courses.
Expected better service which was disappointing
Good as always, Good for dating ...dramatic scenery
Speechless... if you are ever in San Fran, this is the spot to dine.
The food as always was delicious, the service was absolutely excellent, and the waiter was so pleasant in not pushing us to hurry. I was trying to catch up with an old friend, and it was lovely to be able to really relax and enjoy our lunch. And the lunch was very tasty. The tempura fried shrimp were so light and crispy, as was the salad.
The location and the staff are the obsolete best. This place must be placed on the top 10 things to visit in SFO.
