SUSHISAMBA Covent Garden
Bold in design, SUSHISAMBA Covent Garden offers a host of inviting dining and drinking experiences: from the bar with its ‘living ceiling’; the exposed kitchen and high energy sushi bar to the terrace overlooking the square below and the private dining room with its own entrance and terrace.
Bellow average food, our server kept bothering us every few minutes asking if we had finished when we clearly had food left, I have never felt so rushed through my meal.
Cool setting above Covent Garden. Good cocktails. Yummy food which is served “as it’s ready” which turns out to be pretty quickly. Friendly waiter.
The place is really nice and well decorated, I prefer it to the sushi samba at the heron tower. The only reason I gave it 4/5 is because food was not as nice
Fabulous lunch with girls friends
Went to Sushi Samba with two kids, as always the food was great but the service was shocking.
We waited around 15 minutes to get served drinks that we could see sitting at the bar, I nearly got up and picked them up myself a few times!
The service in general was pretty poor and wouldn't expect that level of service based on the price being paid for food.
Would recommend going to the other London chain instead of this one as the service is beyond slow. Took 55 mins to be offered a drink and then impossible to pin down a waiter to take order, serve food, get top up on drinks. Food is great, if you’re happy to wait hours for each item...
A repeat visit and a firm favourite of ours for sushi and Brazilian/Peruvian fusion food.
Truly awesome food.
Very disappointed on our first and last visit to Sushisamba. Very expensive small plates - the scallop ceviche was excellent but other dishes all doused in cloyingly sweet sauces. The “sushi” in particular was horrid.
Service was haphazard with dishes plonked down without explanation.
A place for those who value glitzy decor over quality of food.
Nice place with very good food and friendly staff. A must!
Amazing dinner, cocktails and atmosphere for my friends birthday.
Food rather weird and not as described by waiter. Very small portions also expensive
Great vibe - good was inventive and fun drinks very cool ~ but it is expensive and the bill does start to add up especially with 13.5% service which is a weird amount! Overall really good vibe and food and service - special occasion.
Beautiful venue, food was unreal, overall one of the best places I have been.
Amazing food with wonderful representation of the three cultures on offer. Very attentive and helpful staff.
lovely ambiance ,food was nothing special for the price.service was good as were the cocktails .
The food was amazing and all the dishes were really unique. Service was slow however; we had to remind them twice to bring the wine we ordered to the table and there wasn't always a waiter around when we needed something. The sitting time was quite generous and they were kind offering seating at the bar area after our meal. I would go back and recommend, just not for a quick meal.
Excellent service, delicious food, knowledgeable sommelier, yummy cocktails, fun setting and really cool vibe - can’t wait to go back.
I was dining alone before a movie and even at 6.30 the place was buzzing. I had a table by the pass so a great view of the kitchen in action. The food was awesome, it does come as it is ready so I received it back to front to how I would usually order it, but it was delicious. Service is efficient and the room is very atmospheric and lively.
All the non sushi food was great, however the sushi was just good.
First time outing to the establishment. Great service, great staff and delicious wine & food. I’d definitely recommend to anyone who likes fine dining.
Second visit and as exceptional as last time. Just the music could be a little less loud. Take it down a notch and it’s a perfect place. See you again.
Amazing food in an amazing setting. Makes weekend lunches worthwhile :-)
This was my second visit here. The first time was for my birthday in Nov - Sushisamba exceeded my expectations then - great food (good vegetarian options), service, cocktails ans ambience. The waitress was helpful and explained the options to us. I found the service this time around to be lacking compared to my first visit though I think this may have been due to it being straight after the new year and there being less staff at hand. However the food was delicious and came out promptly. Overall I enjoy the food here and would definitely return.
Great food but rude staff
It’s was a real good & amazing experience
Food was so good
Amazing. Everything we expected and more. A must.
V good service and ambience
I waited 40 min to be seated, even with a reservation.
The location and decor are great. Better than the Heron Tower location (which was fun). Food was delicious and the chocolate banana cake was a highlight. I would absolutely try it again but service was not great. Not bad enough to keep me away just a little surprising.
Amazing service, our server was just fantastic. Amazing food. We had a awesome night
Service and ambience was good but food quality and quantity was mediocre for the price. Had some over cooked rubbery scallops whose subtle taste was drowned by over spiced sauce, was looking forward to Japanese style lamb cutlets and they were tough and forgettable. The tempura prawns and California rolls were merely ok. In general, for the money, one of the most disappointing Japanese food experiences I have ever had. Avoid.
Had a great dinner for 3 on a Monday evening. It was a bit difficult to find and I used to work in the area a few years ago.... for those of you who know Covent Garden, the entrance at street level can be found at the corner of the "square", opposite Molten Brown/ Mulberry stores. Food was very good. Francesca from Italy was professional, friendly and looked after our table well. With 2 cocktails each it worked out just under £70 a head. We had 6 dishes between the 3 of us (2 from each page of the menu). In particular we liked the lamb and pork belly robata dishes. Yes, it is Sushi Samba so it can get busy and it does have a 'buzzy' atmosphere, and after our allotted dining time had passed with Francesca's help we were able to move to the bar area for a "night-cap". Mixture of people were there e.g. several groups of 3-4 like us, there was a group of 6 (but it was nearing Christmas time so it is that time for seeing old friends), and then it was mostly couples on a date night (of varying ages). I would happily go back!
Food was awful. I expected more of the dishes considering the price.
Loved the new SS location
