This is a small shop on Park in Alameda. We were there on a Sunday rainy night but it was extremely understaffed. There was only one server who work the entire restaurant but ended up cooking/preparing food behind the sushi bar as well?! As such, there was a long wait even thou there were only 2 tables dining in. There were a lot of take out orders and the 2 men kitchen staff were clearly overwhelmed. We brought a bday cake to celebrate a double birthday. Cake was given to the staff to be stowed during our meal. When we were done, our server asked if it is ok to bring out the cake. Instead of taking the time to look inside, which there were candles and matches, etc, he brought the whole bag (with cake in box) back to us at the table. That was a bit of let down in terms of customer service. Most servers would have brought the cake out with candles lid. Food was ok but nothing exceptional. Probably will not repeat given the overall experience.
