Sushi Shio is one of the most under-appreciated, high quality sushi spots in SF. Wild to me that more folks don't dine here in person (lots of to-go orders were being fulfilled while I was there). The fish was great quality and very fresh but the preparation was even better. I've enjoyed quite a bit of omakase these past 10 years and it's not often that I end up learning about new preparations which was very exciting! Anyone who says that the other local omakase places have better sushi is not correct - maybe a course here and there but overall I doubt it. And especially at $95 for the full omakase tasting -- very hard to beat. One of the most affordable, high quality sushi dinners I have had in a while. And the staff were lovely! Hope that locals support this gem more!!

Our first omakase experience and it was amazing!!! Highly reccomend adding the A supplement but it would’ve still been plenty filling without it. The quality of the fish was incredibly fresh tasting and the service was excellent!

We ordered the 11-course tasting menu. The food was innovative and tasty. The service was excellent as well. We will come back here the next time we are in San Francisco.

3rd time back, very very happy Customers! Excellent service, incredible quality fish and seafood. Sake Flights were amazing- Uni from Hokkaido and Santa Barbara Toast with gold flake is the best. My friend loves Salmon and their sake belly and nigiri killed it. Thanks again for taking such great care of us. We'll see you soon! Truly a sushi Gem in the city!

As locals in the Mission, we’ve dined at the three higher end sushi restaurants in the neighborhood. By far in our opinion, Sushi Shio ranks as number 1. Our preference is to order ala carte and not the set menu. This way we can select our favorite nigiri and / or sashimi. For the full experience, order the small side of “fresh wasabi” to enhance your sushi palette. The atmosphere is quiet and the staff in absolutely amazing. We highly recommend Sushi Shio!

The restaurant is quiet and elegantly designed and at an unsuspecting location. The service is excellent. Our server checked in and refilled our water regularly. The food was delicious and plated beautifully.

truly delicious. An amazing deal of going for restaurant week (I did). Fresh, diverse array of fish, with wonderful and attentive service. my hot green tea never reached the bottom. A great treat if you’re having a night of self care, celebrating a friend or a hot date.
