Sushi Seki Times Square
Also on the main floor is our Chef’s Table and Chef’s Counter, where Chef Tetsuya is at the helm delivering our latest offering, the seasonal Kaiseki Omakase. Kaiseki, this traditional multi-course meal is a gastronomic expression of time and place, offered A La Carte or Omakase, where Chef Tetsuya harnesses the best ingredients of the season. Our Kaiseki menu is a feast for the senses, where the presentation, taste, aroma and dining environment all play an equally important role.
The entire second floor can now be privatized for a large event, but also features three private Tatami rooms for more intimate gatherings with Sushi, Sashimi and our latest offering, Kaiseki Omakase, as well as our Whisky bar and Lounge which are suitable for an intimate pre-dinner cocktail or a special event.
Food was great. Service was fantastic.
Too expensive...had 1 Saki, 3 appetizers, several sashimi and 1 handroll without rice...over $120 per person incl tip.
Wine list is way too pricey for the selection.
Delicious sushi, beautifully presented. Our waitress was delightful and cocktails were great. Considering this is a below-ground level location near busy and dirty Times Square, the restaurant was clean and the ambiance was pleasant.
Excellent sushi always. Great for pre-theater dinner.
This was my third time at Seki and to be honest, it just wasn’t as good as the last two time. The food just wasn’t as flavorful as it’s been in the past. I’m guessing it was an anomaly, it’s usually delicious. But this time it just wasn’t as special.
Overpriced but food is good
I was shocked that this was actually Sushi Seki! The rolls were mushy. The flavors uninteresting and the quality of fish was simply not there. I frequent Sushi Seki UES quicte a bit over the years, although haven't been in at least 10 months - and was just flabbergasted that the quality was so poor. Sushi Seki UES was always amazing and i pray that it isn't now like Sushi Seki Times Square. Also, we had to ask our waiter and the staff 4x before our friend got her tequilla and lime in a almost empty 6PM restaurant pre-theater.
They were cleaning the bar area and it smelled of Clorox or cleaning agents while eating. It wasn’t a pleasant experience
Went for my moms birthday and they didn’t even acknowledge it even after I had called several times to make sure they made her feel special before arriving. We were initially seated next to the door and we moved to the back room. The waitress was no where to be seen as she clearly had more tables than she could handle. The food came out in drips and drabs instead of timed so everyone had food. To make matters worse they asked if we had a show to catch (which we did) and they still took their sweet time getting the food to us (it also took about 15 min to get the check!).
Excellent in every way. Very consistent.
And a great place to have a relaxed meal.
Great place, clean.
Food was amazing. I will definitely come back for more
Been to the upper east side restaurant many years in past and always thought highly of sushi Seki. First time back to NYC in 6 yrs and wanted to try their time square store. Food is excellent but my opinion is a bit overpriced. It's still very solid (go for the omakase dinner - you will be delighted).
I found sushi seki by facebook video with wonderful stories of seki san and was excited to experience his omakase experience. I have called to one of his location to see where he's normally at since he owns three locations in NY and heard that he normally stays in Time square location. I don't look down on other chefs who works for him and i'm sure they are skillful and well experienced chef and to be respected but was little disappointed to find out seki san doesn't really serve his dish anymore. Interior was well designed and the chef at the sushi bar who was taking care of me was very polite and try to give me best omakase experience he can give but after I finished experiencing the omakase, I felt it was something I can experience in other places and didn't felt something special. Don't get me wrong, the chef who gave me omakase experience here is a wonderful chef but not what I was expecting like the video. I don't know I would like to come back to place that has no stories on their plate for that price. Next time if i could experience seki san's omakase then i would like to visit again to experience his stories on his dish but if not then I don't think I would like to come back again. Service was great from sushi bar chef but not really from the wait staff. I saw chef had to yell at waitstaff to check on customers at the sushi bar area and that's not a good sign especially at high price places.
Nice enough but nothing special. Very good. Kinda explained items but others not so much. Pretty good quality for price and all. Need to update and remodel.
I made the reservation and we were seated properly. The waitress completely ignored me gave the wine list to my customer and doted on him the entire time. She refilled his wine glass and not mine. She took his order and ignored me. After being ignored for almost half the meal, quipped to het "by the way I'm the one paying the bill. " She still ignored me. great sushi, poor service!
It's a little on the pricey side for the value, but the decor was nice and the food was good, if pricey. The service was good but a little slow for a minimal Monday crowd. I requested a nice table for my fiance's birthday but we were seated in the back of the restaurant near the kitchen. Good experience but not good enough to stand out to me as something I'd recommend over the other options in the area. If the food were less expensive or the service slightly better I'd give this a 5/5 but for the moment 3.5-4/5 seems accurate
We have eaten there numerous times, always during the week, and were always pleased.
This was our first and only Sat. evening meal there.
The service was terrible, the hot food was lukewarm, and we waited almost an hour for the sushi to arrive.
The first time I find a fish bone in my sushi, so ppl watch out when eating sushi in this place :/
Very over priced for amount of food and quality. Servers not very well trained.
Big disappointment. Ordered a variety of rolls and nothing tasted fresh. Everything ordered was below average.
Also, they use imitation crab meat...
Amazing sushi and great atmosphere. Highly recommend it for a great date since it’s a little pricey. Overall worth it
Pleasant; service and ambience was also impressive...
Everything was good, food was great, menu had plenty of items to choose from, wine selection was wonderful, and service was friendly. Only reason we tried it over our normal “go to” was because I had a “Time Out : Table for 2” card. I’ve used these all over the city to experience places I otherwise wouldn’t go to or know about. Never had an issue using them. Sushi Seki has exclusions/limitations to accepting the card. Ask before you order. It really killed the experience for us.
the options were very good; the presentation was nice and the meal was wonderful.
server was very attentive
would go back whenever in the area

First time I've been to this branch. Usually go to the one in Chelsea.. But the quality of sushi is equally as good.. Also open late, so good place to go post theatre for dinner!
Hi there, thank you for stopping by this branch and taking the time to write this. We appreciate you, and we look forward to seeing you at any of our locations hopefully sometime soon!
Nice place, food is ok, but not creative. Strong fish odor that wasn't pleasant.
The fish quality is good but doesn’t justify the price.
Omakase was out of this world. Great ambiance, good service! :)
Hello there, thank you for taking the time to write this. We're so happy that you enjoyed your experience with us and we hope to see you again!
Sushi was good. The only issue was the horrible fishy stench throughout the entire restaurant.
Absolutely delicious! We had the yellowtail, yellowtail with jalapeño purée, salmon belly, fatty tuna, and spicy tuna with crispy rice. It was all so fresh and flavorful. For appetizer we had the tempura shrimp and vegetables, and some oysters. It was all amazing. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the sake and we ended up with a sake flight.
Had a great experience. Lovd the Omikasa. Would definitely come back.
Good cuts and fresh fish. Fairly innovative but not at the top. Nice chef..:will go again.
Excellent food and service!!
Before show dining. Got us in and out fast and food was good. Great place to go since we didn’t want heavy food.
Incredibly experience trying omakase for the first time! Such a nice staff and service and some of the best sushi and sashimi I've ever tried.
Great pre theatre option! Wonderful food and service. Perfect Choice and the food is outstanding if you like sushi. Go for it and you will not be disappointed!!!
Omakase is the way to go. Creative non-traditional sushi.
