Consistently excellent food. Never think about going anywhere else for sushi.
Reliable and really delicious
The black cod is fantastic
First time to Denver
Loved the food! Loved this place so much! Will definitely be back :)
Perfect, as always. Service, food and cocktails never disappoint at Sushi Sasa! The reception ladies were charming, as well.
The food quality is sub-par and the moment you walk into the restaurant you are greeted by this unpleasant smell of a fish market.
Great food. Great parking!
Food is always good!
Great place it’s always on my List when I come To Denver👍
Sushi Sasa is always wonderful! We visit at least once a month. The Moriawase adn Lady Rainbow salad are my faves and both are a good value (for lunch). Jane is one of the servers there and she is FABULOUS!! She remembers us and knows what we want before we ask.
it was absolutely amazing! loved everything and and it was all perfect! the fresh fish and amazing rolls were delicious!
We had the diablo and pink lady rolls and they were delicious! Would definitely go back but a little pricey.
Friends having dinner
The only place I will always recommend to anyone who loves sushi!
Waaaay too loud in the expanded dining area, server left us without drinks for 9 minutes while we waited. Sushi was pretty good, but won't return.
We made a reservation and showed up an hour early, we said we would wait just in case they needed the table but they sat us right away. Service was prompt and polite by all, food was outstanding. I asked for extreme spicy flavors and they accommodated my request though it wasn't on the menu.
My favorite sushi restaurant in Denver. The sushi is perfection, the service is excellent and a very pretty room with the sun streaming in the windows. I love the oysters, the chirashi, all of the sushi. The value is excellent. Wayne does a fantastic job with this gem of a restaurant.
The food was high quality and delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful, a great place for a date.
The sushi was good but not notably outstanding. Service was excellent.
Always a wonderful dining experience. We've been coming to Sushi Sasa for years and we have never been disappointed. It's the best sushi/sashimi in Denver and we have been to many of them. The food is of the highest quality and the service is attentive but unobtrusive. The ambience is intimate, perhaps a wee bit dark, but it may be my aging eyes. It is definitely not a see-and-be-seen place. Just seriously fantastic food.
The food was really good and different! Service could have been a little more helpful on the menu, but that’s okay because everything was outstanding.
Hands down my favorite sushi restaurant in Denver. I love love love this place. I have tried other places here and there and nothing compares!
Delicious! A great spot!
We come to Denver once a year for a long weekend, and Sushi Sasa is our go-to spot! The spicy garlic edamame is wonderful, and the Dragon Roll is our favorite!
Sushi Sasa was not on point tonight, but generally a solid place. Fish was good except the live octopus, which was very salty, service was a bit off but friendly.
Even with my reservations still had to wait an half and hour. Our server was not knowledgeable about the menu, I asked for a recommendation of wine and he seemed confused. Even after he asked if we had questions about the menu. The food was decent, though I was expecting more for the price we paid, the visual display was severely lacking. The experience was unique, but I won't be going back.
I usually rave about Sasa, but lately the service has been not up to its usual standards. I love the staff. Maybe just a stressful night.
Valentine’s Day. Place was packed as might be expected. Food is always great here. Service was a little off but I can attribute that to how busy they were.
Let me preface this with; I have been all over eating sushi including 2 years living in Japan off the coast of Fukuoka where some of the top maguro were being caught and sold. As with any landlocked state i approach sushi places with apprehension. A local bartender had told a colleague and I sushi Sasa was the best in Denver and yelp reviews alluded to as much (for whatever that's worth). The menu read chinese to me with starters that were not very traditional Japanese nor would i expect a Japanese chef to have. Which made sense as i was told the chef trained for two years in Japan. Two years?!?! At best he moved from toasting seaweed to making tamagoyaki. I digress. The sushi was what i expected for such an establishment, poor fish to rice ratio's and over sweetened (rice vinegar) rice. Perhaps this was tuned more for the locals than for traditionalists. Total of 5 different nigiri's and 3 rolls. The nigiri's were as i mentioned. One thing that struck me was the use of what looked very much like fake crab in the Kani gunkan. WTF?! That's disappointing. I mean why else would you mix it with mayo. Whole king or snow crab legs in the gunkan topped with caviar would of worked just as well. We had placed orders for two hot items, after waiting 30 minutes with no server checking in we decided we didn't want it anymore and figured the server forgot to put it in. Asked for the bill and to our surprise there the hot items were. When we addressed it the server had the gall to ask us if we wanted it to take home? WTF?!? Are you serious? You are looking at unfinished sushi and you are asking if we want to take the hot food home. The clues to my answer are staring you in the face. I applaud your courage (or perhaps ignorance) to ask. Of course we declined. We dropped over $200 for two people and for that money i would of expected better service and food to be honest. Overall a great place if you need to impress someone who doesn't know sushi.
Services was terrible!! You would think on Valentines that everyone would bring their “A” game....not the case!
The food quality and taste here is unbelievable! It was a culinary tour de force from appetizer to dessert. Hands down, best sushi in Denver, or almost anywhere.
Every time I am in a Denver I visit Sasa. Amazing!
The food is always excellent! The service was poor this visit however, our server vanished half way through our meal.
My husband and I went to celebrate both my birthday and our anniversary. We were greeted by our server fairly quickly and ordered or drink. We decided on the chef's tasting menu, however, I requested that we wanted our cocktail to serve as our "first course" and that we were in no rush for the food to begin arriving. About 3 minutes later, the first course was delivered. It was a chilled salad course, so both my husband and I sat the seaweed salad aside to enjoy our drinks as requested. Then out came a glass of complimentary champagne for our celebration (which we we very grateful for) but this left two full drinks to consume. Before I could finish my salad and they clear my plate, finish my cocktail and start on my champagne, the soup course was brought out. I mentioned that I wasn't quite finished with my salad and was told they didn't want the soup to get cold, however it was still served only warm, at best. Being a slow Monday night, I could tell the wait staff was anxious. During every course, the back waiters kept peeking over at our table, which I appreciate the attentiveness, but it felt more like being rushed and pushed to move on to the next course rather than great service. All this being said, for the total bill of $345 dollars, plus tip for the two of us, the service should have been more on point. Our server also made us feel like we were inconveniencing her to do her job. The food was delicious, but thought it lacked a bit of creativity. Four out of six courses had the same tomatoes, whether in the dish or as a garnish as well. For being a chef's tasting menu for $120 per person, I expected more. For the price we spent on this dinner, I was not impressed overall and would be hesitant to recommend this to a friend for the price. Cut that final bill in half and it would be a different review.
Had a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We will definitely return!
This is a wonderful restaurant with superb dishes served in a warm atmosphere by attentive servers. It was outstanding at every level. We should have cancelled other reservations and just returned here every night until we had sampled the entire menu, although we might have broken down and odered sushi every night.
Amazing food and service.
Wonderful food and service! We were celebrating our anniversary and we’re surprised with complimentary champagne!
I make it a point to always come to Sushi Sasa when in Denver. It is the best!
