We are open to indoor seating, and take-out & delivery. Most of sushi counter seatings are for Omakase. We offer also regular menu a la carte, set menu, hot food, maki rolls as standard reservation. Sushi Ryusei is a new traditional Sushi restaurant located in Murray Hill. It features an Omakase Chef's Sushi Counter as well as traditional choices by former head chef Masato Oyama at Sushi of Gari Columbus and Sushi of Gari Tribeca. Our other skilled chef is also from sushi of Gari.

Our party of 4 had a couple appetizers, a variety of nigiri, a sashimi platter, and a salmon teriyaki dinner. Appetizers of edamame and fried oysters came out quickly. The fried oysters look like they are heavily battered but they aren't. The batter is sturdy enough to hold a shape but isn't heavy. They were fried well and not chewy or overdone. Entrees took a while to come out, maybe 20 minutes after the appetizers, but worth the wait. All the sushi and sashimi was delicious and real wasabi was used. The sashimi platter came with a bowl of rice on the side. The salmon filet was huge and perfectly cooked. Our table was by the window which had pros and cons. It was away from other diners which made it feel somewhat private. But it was also right be the entrance and host stand which made it feel a bit strange when other diners entered and were hovering by the front. Overall, would recommend.

The food and experience is sp wonderful, not even the congestion pricing toll will stop us from eating at Ryusei.

Simply spectacular. The stellar omakase menu with toro, shrimp, and Hokkaido uni, among other beautiful selections. now features lobster and caviar accents. Conscientious and welcoming wait staff, this place continues to be outstanding.

I think this is one of the best Japanese sushi restaurants in Manhattan. Omakase is the way to go to sample Chef Oyama's amazing cuisine. I highly recommend a visit to Sushi Ryusei!!

Sushi rice was uninspiring, cakey and did not complement the fish. Seaweed paper was chewy. Fish quality was decent. Relatively high-priced for a very pedestrian meal. There are much better alternatives.

This was our first time in the restaurant although we ordered delivery many times and have been very happy. This time at the sushi bar we tried the highest level Omakase in celebration of Chef Oyama's birthday month. Chef Oyama was phenomenal and his omakase was much better than many which are much more expensive in other restaurants. We had an extremely pleasant time and every bite was super delicious. The side dishes and amuse bouche were also fantastic. Highly recommend Ryusei. Their take out/delivery orders are delicious as well, but Omakase really spoke for itself. Our best Japanese meal is a while. Maitre d'it Haruki-san and our waiter Kenichi gave outstanding service. We will be back.
