Food was good, service average, but way overpriced for what it is
The atmosphere of this restaurant is very Scene-y. Lots of high heels and Botox, but hey, welcome to scottsdale.
Lots of dates and parties with bottle service but beyond all the fan fare the food is delightful and the service is fast, efficient and friendly.
My friend and I had a waitress named Emily who killed it, roll recommendations, whiskey refills just when they were needed and never an empty water.
Overall a great restaurant, and great people watching :)
Delicious food and great service!
The food was ok.
Service was horrible, we where two people and we order 5 dishes total.
They brought everything at the same time and they where some hot dishes.
We feel rush, like they wanted to kick us out of the place.
We left in 1 hr and did not enjoy the whole experience.
Went for NYE.
The service was atrocious, waitress asked us to order ourselves as we were already sitting at the sushi bar! We did order a hot plate which took forever, came out twice, then the waitress forgot who had ordered it. The front house staff was rude and it was incredibly overpriced with average sushi at best. Who in the name of God gave this place a five star rating? You can literally go to any basic sushi restaurant and have a better experience. Avoid this restaurant.
New Year’s Eve
Came to dinner to celebrate New Years Eve with my boyfriend at 5:45 with our reservation we made. We have never been here before and decided to give it a shot. We were greeted by the hostess who promptly took us to be seated. She advised that we had to be seated shoulder to shoulder at the sushi bar. I was less than thrilled to not have been seated at a table, but went with the idea anyway. The hostess apologized and was trying to be as accommodating as possible. It was NYE, so I understand things were rather hectic. The seats could have definitely been comfier and more space in between myself and my neighbor on my opposite shoulder. But... What left me a little unsettled was the fact that there were plenty of two person tables open. These tables were open to ENTIRE night. That was a little upsetting.
We were then greeted by our waitress. I have also been a waitress so I know the run around and how to properly treat a customer. I’m not sure if our waitress was having a bad day, or wasn’t thrilled to be working on NYE. I have never felt so rushed and awkwardly uncomfortable in my entire life. She was extremely short and snappy and acted like she did not give two sh*ts about us. The nice couple who sat next to us even said the same thing. Her attitude was stale, unpleasant and downright rude. She later explained that any order from the kitchen needs to be placed directly through her, all other sushi orders can be placed with the sushi bar cooks. Which again, was a tad bit awkward. I wanted to start with a Miso soup and then dive into sushi. Our waitress disappeared for about 10 minutes. We ordered our sushi and started munching on that until our waitress finally stopped by. I ordered my soup, then had to wait another 15 minutes to get my soup! We had then finished our sushi. The best part about our visit was interacting with the couple next to us! The food and the sushi cooks were great, no complaints there. For the money, I definitely don’t recommend.
Very misleading... was told due to party size we would have to sit at the sushi bar even though we booked a reservation for a table ahead of time. You should notify guests of your intentions to not sit them at a table when making or confirming a reservation, especially for special events such as NYE. Very disappointing.
Food pretty good. Service really bad. Took forever to get a waiter. Soy sauce was empty - apparently very challenging to refill. Sake delivery came well into entree course. Long wait for dessert.
Great place and food. The Toro Carpaccio is unreal to say the least.
Muy buena comida pero un poco ruidodo
This resturant is good. We came here because our favorite restaurant is Katana in Beverly Hills, CA and I live in AZ. The food taste are not the same for some dished that you can eat here and at Katana. The number one thing I did like are the Baked crab rolls. They are mouth watering.
Not for a party of 7 or more. We had reservations for 8 and confirmed with Aron Russell the day before. (A very personable young man with great customer service over the phone.) Yet the booth tables barely fit 5 comfortably and they placed the 3 children at a table not nearby. The grilled beef and asparagus fell way below Sushi Roku's standards. The asparagus was so thick that it couldn't be chewed. Pot stickers were $19 and recommended by the waitress for the children. Not a good choice for kids. Hard to talk due to noise level and the orders came out piecemeal. Grilled Lamb chops ran out at 6:45 pm on Christmas day. Disappointing. The waitress actually picked up our order of edamame and sniffed it when we said we wanted another order of edamame without truffle oil. She said we were mistaken and the our senses confused?! The Churro dessert, ice cream, and coffee was very good!
All 6 of us were pleased with our food and drink. There was a delay on 2 of our entrees which the manager personally apologized for and comped those meals and gave us a free dessert. The other 4 of us shared 5 different plates of sushi and really enjoyed them.
Amazing food the sushi rolls and raw food are sooo good
Poor service experience and left without ordering.
This restaurant is no where near Old town Scottsdale! False advertising. It’s connected to a W hotel.
Waiter literally brought us warm white wine. OPENED the bottle and didnt bring a new one. FOOD wasnt bad but not worth the price.
Kind of pricey but the quality and variety is very good
A bit pricey for the selection and portion size, but good quality.
The sushi was very good and the service was incredible!
Great spot, food is awesome and staff was great. Sit at the sushi bar and watch the show in front of you, top notch rollers.
Food was amazing!!! Mikala provided great service.
5 star start to finish. Mia gave great service and recommendations. Management stopped by a couple times to welcome us and ensure everything met our expectations. They even comped our desert to celebrate our anniversary. Been to many sushi restaurants, and this is top 2 or 3.
Very basic sushi and sashimi for gourmet prices. Nothing special about the chefs selections and garnishes. Wine list is deceptively written. Clearly marked on the top, but don’t assume that a price/price is a glass/bottle like every other wine list is anywhere else. The bottle prices are on the next page. I learned that with the bill (they offer carafes of wine and sake and label prices as glass/carafe). Very tricky.
Outstanding! We were there for the anniversary special which is incredible! The food was beyond amazing! Michaela is exceptional..ask for her as she guides you fantastically thru the menu.
Great Experience. Food is incredible. Our Server Emily was Excellent, on point, personal & engaging.
Food is always good. Especially when they have their anniversary special. Drinks are a bit pricey but food made up for cost. Server was good and prompt.
service was absolutely abhorrent. Most of food delicious - few rolls were pretty fishy. Cocktails good. Desert subpar
Good fish. Good rice. Kids accepted. Excellent sake
Terrible service and most terrible food.
For sure I would not recommend to anyone.
Service was not good and usually is. Was disappointed and usually love it there
Sushi Roku was great! The ambience, service, and food were delightful. We were celebrating two birthdays that evening *small party of us*, and we had a baby along, as well. During the early part of the evening, my elderly mother accidentally spilled one of the small bowls of teriyaki sauce. We mopped it up discreetly with one of the cloth napkins, but instantly, one of the master sushi chefs from the sushi bar close by appeared soundlessly with a smile and an extra cloth napkin! Now, that's service! Great evening, and love the location in the heart of Scottsdale.
Coming from Washington, we never expected a sushi place in Arizona to be this amazing. The food was absolutely delicious!
Great place! food was delicious and environment was great for a friday night.
Sushi Chef - Tony can make some real incredible sushi and sashimi. He uses a mix of different flavors with the fish to make it taste so good. I always visit Tony whenever I’m visiting Scottsdale. A great place to have sushi!
The rolls were absolutely tasteless. The sashimi tasted almost like it was smoked, not like normal fresh sashimi.
Was really slow for there only being three other tables and what looked like a full staff. Waiter was friendly. Food was good.
This is as good as it gets. The chefs tasting menu is a real treat.
