   Was excited to revisit this spot after more than a decade for my teen’s birthday. I’m not sure if it’s gotten worse or there are now just so many better options it doesn’t hold up anymore. Specifics: eggplant dengaku was as good as I remember, miso soup was served barely warm, calamari was fine, wagyu skewer was over-peppered (even for something with pepper sauce) and seemed completely unsalted, rolls were meh. Service was solid but over-all it was a pretty disappointing meal.

   Sushi Roku is the Santa Monica go-to place for sushi. There are always plenty of people milling about on Ocean Avenue, but despite the noisy motorcycles ) going by, (can we please lower the decibels on these 2 wheelers?), it was great to eat outdoors and have very tasty, fresh fish! The tuna crudo was melt in your mouth amazing and despite my disappointment that the uni was at such a steep market price, passed on that, the fresh water eel roll made up for it. The staff were attentive enough but they all need to be aware that the outdoor heaters sometimes aren't necessary and can get in the way. Overall it was delish and in the company of a long-time, close friend, nothing could dim the happiness!

   Good food but the rudest servers ever! I have been there twice, and the two servers who served us were just plain rude and condescending. I had to reprimand one of them to set her straight, and she apologized. I didn't even bother with the second one, I just ignored it. Their tone of voice and attitude sucks. The manager in this restaurant needs to do a better job! To pay ~300-400 a dinner and not have the perfect experience is just ridiculous. I have been to many michellen-star restaurants and all the 5-star restaurants around and have never had such a disappointment before. Go somewhere else. I will never be back. The food is good but so is it in other nearby places that have better quality of service so why bother with this place? You are going out to have fun not to deal with rude people!

   Went for a special occasion and had a wonderful evening. The management and wait staff were great (our server Marina was very attentive) and the food was delicious. Particularly love the garlic edamame and the seabass entre. The quality of the food is always great and I would and will return for more.

    The food was delicious. The restaurant location is excellent, along Ocean Ave. It was especially great to dine during sunset. I highly recommend the White Lotus roll and everything with Ahi. While we appreciate the covid safety, the QR code ordering lessened the boutique dining experience. Our server was friendly but not exceptionally engaged, mostly due to the QR code ordering style. Music was loud high tempo techno, great for a bar but a little energetic for dining. Overall, we would go back.

    They brought us a cake offered for the birthday. Otherwise, nothing good. Too much hurry because we were the last table, they accepted the reservation at 8:30 p.m. when the kitchen closed at 9. The food lukewarm, already ready. They charged us for an off-menu dish more than the uramaki special. We were not satisfied

    We dined two nights in a row because the food and service was exceptional. Drew, the manager, took extra attention to recommend house special dishes and we were not disappointed. Every attention to detail by all at Sushi Roku.

    Service was good. Ambience was nice at the patio. Food was not authentic Japanese food. We went to little Tokyo right after and found authentic Japanese food.

    The food was far below the standard expected. The Edamame beans were old and the chicken in the chicken fried rice had quite a bit of gristle in it - very disappointing.

    Always a great dinner and fun time eating at sushi Roku - we love coming here. The staff is super friendly and caring. They make every dinner special. The food is always tasty and the fish is super fresh. You must try their new s’mores dessert- it is incredible. Enjoy.

    We both ordered the chef's choice special meal ($75ea) & totally loved it! We sat at the sushi bar too. Our meal includes numerous apps .. some sushi, sashimi, & some from the kitchen. Several delicious rolls too. And a butter cake with ice cream & berries for dessert! Every dish was exquisite.. Loved sushi Roku & would definitely recommend.

    Unfortunately the food wasn’t impressive and the price very high for what we had. We got the albacore roll and it was very very salty and the rice was dry. The guioza was a different flavor which is ok but unfortunately it wasn’t fully cooked in the middle, they did take it off the check which was very nice of them but I wanted to mention it wasn’t a great option. The music was very loud on the patio what’s why I have it noise level high.

    When I lived in the area this was my favorite sushi place. I’ve bragged about it for years to my wife. We were here for a business trip and I brought my family with me to see where I used to live etc. our waiter took our drink order and appetizers and was very polite. He brought both out quickly, then completely disappeared. Around 30 minutes later a female waitress came to the table and said, is there anything else I can get you? And we responded ,”who are you?” She said that our original waiter went on break and she took over. We placed out order and the food steadily came out by people other than out new waitress. None of our drinks ever got refilled, our waitress finally came to the table about 45 minutes after the food came out. I left the table for a sec and had my wife take care of the bill. When I returned she had paid already, the waitress was supposed to bring us an itemized receipt, but she never returned. The bill was easily 1/3 higher than I expected and I’m guessing that gratuity was included even though the little computer thing they had you asks you to add a tip. Overall, super underwhelmed with the horrible service and there was nothing special with the sushi. You can get the same sushi with amazing service at dozens of other places.

    The food comes out so fast but is super high quality, the service is top notch and they brought my girlfriend a beautiful lava cake for free just because it was her birthday. This is my new favorite spot for sushi and apps in Santa Monica, the crispy tuna roll is insane. Can’t say enough good things about this place we kept saying to each other how much we loved it here
