Great sushi. Get the matsu which is 8 pieces of specially prepared sushi. Worth it. The cocktails are also good. The sangria and the mescal drink were both great. Lance is the best server ever. He treats his guests as friends and always make it a great experience for us. This place is a true gem.
Chefs Selection sushi platter is outstanding. Great presentation. Great sake on the menu. Cool place for a date. Small mixup with a bottle of wine we ordered but otherwise pleasant, friendly service. We will certainly go again.
Sushi Roku has a great outdoor and covered seating area that has a relaxed ambiance. Their food is consistent and decent. Service is consistently great at lunch and they monitor your drinks for refills. Noise levels were low and great for business meetings or catching up with friends.
Extremely pricey for what you get. Service staff is outstanding but food is underwhelming.
Excellent fresh quality of fish and preparation.
Delicious Japanese fusion with plenty of options for vegetarians (surprisingly tough to find). Dark, buzzy interior, friendly servers, and very tasty food, especially the many small starters which are great for sharing.
Disappointing. I've enjoyed this restaurant for many years... not my last few visits. I ordered ama ebi sushi... not avaiable. I ordered a baked lobster roll... it was made with something not lobster. Service and ambience were great but the food was a let down.
Awesome place! Food was top notch and the sushi chefs were attentive and engaged! Really enjoyed our meal, visit and service!
Quality of the food is not a premium sushi place it has gone worst. Food didnt even come out but server brings the check we didnt even ask for. Was my go to favorite place for sushi but would not return for this quality food and service.
Food was great. Service not so much.
The best in town
Really delicious! Good stuff on the menu overall it surpassed my expectation. I will be back!
We’ve eaten here numerous times and always enjoyed it but this time the music was so loud I could barely hear the person next to me. And our waiter was not the least bit attentive . Won’t be back.
A little pricey but the food is amazing and the staff is very friendly.
Great setting, friendly staff, good sushi, would return
Food was amazing, love this restaurant
Best sushi place in PASADENA
it was as usual, really good. We went in early...so everything was perfect
It was very good, but nothing special; it met our expectation
Amazing experience as usual
Server was awesome and GM Andrew was very professional. Love this place
Food cost overly priced, there’s lots of other plane better food better costZ. Can’t return
The service was amazing from beginning to end.
Used to love it...maybe it's because it was a Sunday and they were busy...the last time trip wasn't great.
I always have an outstanding time at Sushi Roku weather I’m with family, friends or clients. The food is consistently delicious and the staff is extremely attentive. I highly recommend for most every event.
Would love to come over sometime soon! Maybe for another special occasion, very soon!
Service was excellent, Happy Hour was a deal, DineLA menu was perfect
This was a good place to have a nice dinner with a friend.
The ambience was good. If there was music, it was so low I couldn't really tell, which I prefer. What was weird about this location (I had been to the one in West Hollywood as well) was how the restaurant was set up. There seemed to be two very different rooms, a loungy area and a more intimate bar-like area, so the feel was a little jolting. In the lounge area, which is where we sat, some of the patrons got a little too "comfortable" (lying down on couches, clearly tipsy) and at times, quite loud but since it wasn't all the time, it was more amusing than annoying. If I had known how much nicer -- and quieter -- the restaurant area was, I would've chosen that than the lounge. That said, both areas were nice and vibe-y in their own way.
Regarding the service: the host was a little stand-offish but our waitress was nice and attentive enough, although there were times when she was so rushed she couldn't attend to us immediately and towards the end of the night, I believe she forgot about us -- but that just meant more time to enjoy sake!
The food was pretty excellent. Almost everything we ordered was spot on. We ordered were the calamari, avocado hanabi, toro, anago, gensai, and the spicy crispy roll. If I came back here again, I would probably not get any signature rolls as the other dishes were far superior. The only complaint was gensai felt overpowered with flavour--spicy--which was odd since every other dish was subtle enough in flavour as to taste the nuance while the spicy crispy roll didn't have much flavour at all unless eaten with a healthy bit of the mayo sauce. That said, they were both fine but for the quality of food, it was a little of a disappointment after the other dishes being so much more superior.
In terms of pricing. Sushi Roku is definitely more on the high end side but I feel it's worth it. Overall, it's a nice treat and good place to take friends.
The wagyu steak was terrible, I should have sent it back. Really unacceptable especially for the price.
Too expensive for what food you get. Nothing special to report about it.
I came in with my family of 4 for father's day. We ordered an assortment of hot foods and fish to share. My dad ordered himself the Catch of the day sashimi platter and the table shared the ribeye, short ribs, two specialty rolls, veggie tempura, and popcorn shrimp. My dad enjoyed the sashimi (10 pcs,) but the cuts looked rather small. The rolls were tasty although one had stale fried onions as a topper. Hot foods were a little bit on the saltier side; the short ribs especially were disappointing. There was probably 4 pieces of rib slathered in salty marinade. I was not impressed with the ribeye although, for the price, was decent. It came out last just when most of the dishes were finished with; fortunately the rolls and short ribs were being shared among the 3-4 of us.
Customer service was a big plus. We had the friendliest server and I wish I had gotten his name. He had a very bubbly personality and joked around with my table. Sushi Roku was very considerate as we waited a few minutes for the 4th person to join my party. There was always someone on the floor refilling drinks as well. I wished we were seated a little bit further from the back room doors. There seemed to be a lot of servers going in and out.
The bill ended up coming out to over $200. It was definitely more on the expensive side.
Great for special occasion celebrations such as birthdays due to its lively atmosphere. Great food and decent service. The ambiance is nice, but it is very loud and hard to speak over the restaurant noise. There is quite a variety of food choices and the sushi was fresh.
We go to Sushi Roku in Vegas, Pasadena and Santa Monica in a regular basis for special occasions. Our favorite is Vegas because they have everything dialed in there - 5stars in each area consistently every single time we go. Our second favorite is Pasadena, the sushi is fresh and chefs are so attentive and talented. Unfortunately this past weekend we went on a date and could barely have a conversation because of a large party of twenty-something women right next to us. At one point a chef came out and egged on the noise to a whole new level. I have had my share of dinner parties ay restaurants, and complete support people having a great time when they are out. However, a restaurant should also be attentive to where they seat parties, and pay attention to the overall ambience. We spent almost $300 for our meal and the ambiance felt like we were at Dave and Busters or a bar atmosphere. There is a way to set a tone in a restaurant and it often requires management and staff to enforce higher standards. It honestly felt like we were at Tokyo Delves and not Sushi Roku.
Nice decor. Great service and good food. Highly recommend this restaurant. A little bit pricy but well worth.
Patio was great. food was good and people watching was fun.
Sushi Roku is located near two Valet Services so parking is convenient the best one is on Union (a one way street) and offers great food, wonderful ambiance and excellent service...just one thing please note it is not inexpensive to be prepared to break upon your wallet; a nice evening out will cost you about $100.00 per person.
My family and I had a great time! Good food and great service. Overall wonderful. The noise level was a little too much for my taste. However it was easily solved by eating on the patio.
Great lunch place! Staff friendly and fast service.
The food is soooo good! Pricey but worth it.
It was a great choice for Mothers Day, the staff is very attentive, the food was great, I ordered the seafood ramen and was surprised to see a full lobster tail in my bowl and the soup was well stocked with other seafood items. the appetizers and everyone else's dishes were great as well, first time here but will be coming back.
Teacher Appreciation Week! Thanks :)
