Good selection. Attentive service
Excellent service and food. Decor was minimalist in a Brutalist fashion that did not encourage staying around. Will definitely do take out, doubt will dine in.
The restaurant was nearly empty but yet the service was extremely slow. I come from a food business background and completely understand the lack of good staff and especially now, but there was absolutely no reason for such a delay between drinks, apps and main meal. The server was kind and meant well but there was literally one other table occupied aside from us. The least he could have done is keep the drinks coming if the kitchen was backed up with, I’m assuming, take out orders. The presentation and food quality was pretty good.
Wonderful experience as usual
Awesome food. Great quality. Great service, as well
Served me tea from a bottle of hibiki Japanese whiskey …. Apparently the previous bartender filled the empty bottle with tea and left it on the shelf for unsuspecting customers
Good sushi. Good Miso soup with mushrooms.
Way over priced since there is no ambiance nor a nice view. I would not recommend it although the service was good.
The food is delicious! Best fried rice ever!
So delicious! A little expensive but definitely worth it. The wagyu beef was incredible!
2nd time here. Food was good. Pork belly could be a bit more on the tender side. Service was slower than our first time. One item on our order was incorrect. We asked for salmon sashimi and got salmon nigiri instead even though our server repeated back the order. Our daughter's hamburger came way late after most of us had already finished our food. When I asked for the check, the server did not bring it and I had to ask for it a second time. Maybe the man buns are too tight and cutting off some brain circulation. In general, we see a pattern of inattentiveness in many younger servers in restaurants these days.
Greetings Ernie! Thank you for having joined us for dinner and for your feedback. We're terribly sorry to hear about your recent experience at Sushi Momento. While mistakes may happen from time to time, we feel severely disappointed for having left the experience as you described. We hold ourselves to a higher standard, and would ask that you give us the opportunity to redeem ourselves. Please see the follow up message with contact information; we'd love to invite you back as our guests!
The manager was absolutely lovely and offered a mochi and cheese cake assortment birthday dessert for one of our group of five at no charge. For this graciousness alone, I'd go back! I'm not a sushi fan and had a couple of other appetizers that I enjoyed. The other four sushi fans said their rolls were very good, but not the best they've ever had. Though not a morsel of food was leftover!
Really good experience. The service was excellent. 3 servers catered to us. The sushi was high quality and tasted great. Good drink selection too. And the prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back.
Expensive, sushi was just ok, and they sat by the bathroom when the place was completely empty. Odd but overall, good drinks, ok food, and nice space.
My husband and I have been here quite a few times and the food, cocktails and service have been consistently very good. The wait staff is attentive and friendly and the food and cocktails comes out quickly. This is definitely one of our "go-to" for sushi!
Loved everything about this place. Quiet initially at 6;30 but the place was soon packed. Food was very good overall.
My second visit was a good as the first. The quality of the sushi is excellent. The restaurant is spotless. The service very good. Two limitations: the parking is difficult and the prices are a bit high. Still, worth the effort!
I used to love this place but they changed the chef and the menu completely and the food was very disappointing.
Absolutely love sushi momento. We just moved here and it is our favorite restaurant. Sushi is amazing. Wait staff is awesome. Went for New Years Eve and they gave us free dessert! They even gave us the ingredients to make our own saki bombs!!! A must go.
Would have been more inclinded to recommend Sushi Momento if not for the ill advised ( possibly untrained) waitstaff who continually tried to remove dishes from our table before we were done! They would come by and pick up a plate without asking, requiring us to say, we aren't finished. It took away from our ability to enjoy the good food.
I have visited this restaurants several times before and always had a satisfactory experience. Recently went to Douza in Backbay, their sister restaurants and had a memorable experience. So when my dad’s birthday dinner came up, I decided to give it a try.
They got rid of their most popular dishes on the menu (edamame fried rice, and wild mushroom) as to why? New chef??
They are connected to the AC Hotel. My husband parked in the back and was told that it’s free with restaurant validation. Wrong. The restaurant charged us $15 even after admitting it was a mistake. This is Cleveland Circle, not Backbay. Pretty ridiculous they would refuse to honor the free parking.
Greetings, We're terribly sorry to hear about your recent experience dining with us, and we'd like to discuss further & make things right. While we are physically connected to the AC Marriott Hotel, we are unaffiliated with them and are required to pay for validation vouchers for guests intending to park in their lot. Should any guest choose to use the hotel lot, they would be required to pay as parking is only free to hotel guests. We have since spoken with the hotel manager about this issue.
Service great and food fresh and inventive not to mention tasty.
Excellent food and service. The only suggestion I would have would be to dim the lights so it’s not so bright.
Be careful what you order. Bill easily comes to $100 for 2 people.
Food was good, but not worth $100.
Nice experience. Will return again. Sushi 10 piece and chicken appetizers were top level. Parking in area no problems. MF
Fabulous service. Food is traditional yet creative and presented beautifully.
Excellent service and outstanding food. They surprised us and the birthday girl with a special candle-lit dessert and the staff sang Happy Birthday to her too. Superb first impression!
I was impressed with how fresh the fish was... I don’t typically go to sushi in boston because of the lack of authenticity and freshness of the fish...
the uni, chu toro, o-toro were all fresh! We ordered a bunch of rolls for our group that were excellent! The salt and pepper rock shrimp was a hit!
Sushi were average ... service - language barrier...
Our waiter was excellent. Considerate and sweet. Not easy to find parking around and there was a $15 valet parking at the hotel right behind the restaurant. Sushi and sashimi were fresh. Will come back.
The worst sushi I’ve had in a while. Their focus seems to be Instagramable food that tastes bad.
Best sushi we have had for awhile in Boston.
Delicious meal. Wonderful, wonderful waiter: named Gray. Intentionally stark, "cold" space - the only unappetizing element!
Sushi Momento is my new favorite Japanese restaurant in Boston. Excellent everything, and I've had the whole menu. Drinks are delicious and the Soto saki is cold, clean, refreshing and delicious. The Chef's Choice Sushi & Sashimi Platter is the perfect place to start.
Momento was just OK. Limited sushi selection and a bit overpriced compared to other more traditional places. I would probably go back to my standard faves next time.
Food tasty and atmosphere is modern and new, but food and drinks were overpriced, especially for sushi deluxe. Usually low $20’s and includes a soup or salad and a tuna roll. This did not include either of the extras and cost $29. Also $12 cocktail vodka on the rocks pricey for this residential/not downtown location. $9 or $10 would be more appropriate. For everyday sushi dining we will not be likely to come back, with half a dozen less expensive sushi restaurants within 5-10 min. It could have become a once a week or two place but will now be a once every 6 months place.
Great service, however food leave much to be desired.
