Sushi Kashiba is Seattle's destination for Japanese fine dining at its highest level. Located next to historic Pike Place Market. Take a coveted seat at the Omakase sushi bar, where you just might find multi-James Beard Award nominated Chef Shiro Kashiba holding court.

Most guests order one of Sushi Kashiba's chef curated sushi dinners. The mix of fresh local fish as well as delicacies from Japan and around the world will satisfy the palette of seasoned sushi fans as well as new entrants into the sushi world. The food is wonderful. Omakase is $160. Total with tips, drinks and extra order, about $250 per. It is quite reasonable for high end sushi in the US. I enjoyed every course, not a single one is disappointing. I eat my Japanese food in San Francisco area. This is one of the best I had. Tasted better than the several Michelin star ones I had tried.

Quality of sushi and hot dishes were good but portions small considering the price. Rice not included with hot dishes and should be. Chawan Muschi (sp?) soup was under seasoned. Waiter was very good.

We were in town in Seattle the week of 6/2 on vacation. I initially made reservations for 2 with standard seating in the restaurant. However, when we arrived at our 5:15 reservation and they told us they had two seats at the sushi counter for omakase. This was great, as we were planning to do the omakse anyways. We sat down and the sushi chef that served us was Jefferson. Service was prompt and attentive and we put in drink orders. The chef prepared each course, gave a description of the course and then served us. The meal overall was delicious. Jefferson was a pleasure to chat with as well throughout the meal. I was still a little hungry after all the courses as I ate a small lunch that afternoon and got an additional order of two salmon nigiri (king and sockeye) and an uni with sweet shrimp on top. My wife got jealous about the uni because it was delicious so Jefferson made her one as well. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely go again when visiting Seattle.

The food was outstanding, and the service was on par with the food. Not the absolute best sushi I've ever had, but a pretty close 2nd. Highly recommend.
