Great sushi! Surprise dessert with candle for my husband’s birthday. Very friendly staff.
everyone was very nice! Our waitress was very knowledgable (kwan) and recommended great dishes! everyone's smile is contagious!
Went there most recently during Seattle Restaurant Week and it was a very good value for the quality. The quality has been consistently good whenever I've gone. For this visit, the Albacore tuna and mustard greens appetizer with its sesame dressing was great, the chirashi was very good, and their desserts are also excellent - both the Chestnut creme brulee and the yuzu panna cotta.
The chef/owner (we sat at the counter) is friendly and engages when asked (we talked about their hamachi) yet also tends to his work without interrupting your dinner.
Excellent wine selection, in particular for a Japanese/sushi place in Seattle - and plenty of sake options, too. Nice decor and atmosphere.
Love the use of local fish. Everything was spectacular.
Came in for restaurant week and have zero regrets. Exceptional sushi and sashimi, great waitstaff and super easy to find. Only bummer was parking, as it’s street parking but that is most of Seattle anyway. But so worth the effort and we will definitely be back!
Sat at the bar and Bobby made our night! Great food and good times!
Fantastic food and excellent, attentive and knowledgeable service. I love Sushi Kappo Tamura!
Great service, excellent food. Will definitely return.
Went during Restaurant Week. Great service and great food!
Fabulous sushi and recommend the omakasa!
First time here. I had heard and read really good things about this place and the quality of the sushi and can report that I was not disappointed. The place is small, but not too small, very nicely decorated tables not so crowded in to make it uncomfortable. Has a very nice, welcoming feel to it. But the real star is the Sushi. I've been looking for a long time for a great Sushi restaurant in Seattle, and I think I found it! The tempura was wonderful, and every piece of sushi we had was delicious, so fresh. Wine list was extensive, with many wonderful choices, but pricey, so make a reservation and go early on Friday night (5pm to 6 pm 1/2 price bottles for Happy Hour.) Lastly, the service was excellent! He was friendly, attentive (at the right time) and made the experience feel even more personal. Really looking forward to going back!
I celebrated my birthday with my boyfriend and we had a blast. Great food and service!
I have been following Taichi Kitamura since he opened his first restaurant. Food and service are always good! Only thing is that I want to see more daily menu or seasonal menu.
My favorite restaurant in Seattle!
Pretty much always awesome. On this night was the best black cod I've ever had, and the sushi was excellent as well.
Yummy traditional Japanese food. The black cod is delicious! So was the albacore with mustard greens. The chicken karaage is one of the best in town.
Fresh, delicious, beautiful looking food. Omakase was too much so we had one course to go and the sashimi tasted still amazing the next day. Marinated black cod and the egg custard were our favorites. But overall everything tasted real good. Will definitely come back next time we’re in Seattle but perhaps not go with omakase then.
Taichi and his entire staff make every visit feel special...and the amazing food NEVER disappoints!!
Fantastic as always! Steve wasn’t there, but our server was impeccable.
The omakase was phenomenal and even ordered more food because the fish was so fresh. The black cod was perfectly prepared and Chef Matt was great.
This is my third time here and I loooove the black cod! It is so juicy and I will definitely go back for it. I also recommend my favorite dessert -- yuzu yogurt panna cotta. It is sweet and creamy in a refreshing way.
Excellent menu that notes sustainable options. The Hamtastic roll was one of the best creations I've had - light and spicy, elegant and just awesome. Both the lychee limeade and ginger tea were great. It wasn't cheap ($50 per person for lunch (full disclosure - I eat a lot)) but it was memorable.
This is my favorite spot in the city for sushi, as they feature local and sustainable fish, an excellent sake menu, friendly staff, and delicious hot options in addition to traditional sushi, nigiri, and rolls. If you can sit at the sushi bar, you'll be in for a real treat as the chefs are great at helping you discover new things to try, sharing their culinary and life wisdom, and making you feel welcome. An all-around gem that never fails to impress.
The fish is so fresh and Chef Bobby is a master at his craft! His creations really highlighted the best flavors of each fish. We only ordered nigiri as we are purists when it comes to sushi. Don’t be scared to try what the chef recommends. You will not be disappointed! If you truly appreciate the simplicity and the art of sushi, you will love Chef Bobby. Can’t wait to go back.
Edward is a maestro server! Super experience
Always a lovely experience. Sushi chef Bobby made the evening a lot more engaging with beautiful food and stories.
Delicious and unique set menu for Valentine’s Day dinner. Extremely high quality food and service!
We love going to Sushi Kappo Tamura.! I've gone for a few of my birthdays, a few friends', and special occasion date nights. Staff is always knowledgable and warm.
The food and service were tremendous. Would definitely dine there again.
This was probably the best sushi meal I have ever had! Everything was amazing, but particularly the sashami was above anything we had ever had before. I will be back and would recommend this to anyone looking for great sushi.
They are quite pricey, but worth it for a special occasion.
Absolutely perfect! More than what we expected. Quite possibly the best sushi experience ever. Would recommend highly.
Great food as usual, very consistent in quality. One of our favorite in Seattle.
A superb sushi experience. Great fish, wide selection of fish, wonderful sushi chefs
Outstanding sushi, well prepared and presented. Great staff. $$
My favorite Japanese/sushi Restaurant in Seattle — skillfully prepared, beautiful and delicious sushi and other offerings — extensive sake menu — excellent, friendly, knowledgeable staff. This place rocks!
Lovely and friendly service matched with incredible food. One of my favorites in Seattle!
As usual Sushi Kappo Tamura is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the city. Excellent fresh sushi, great atmosphere and service!
Fantastic service and food! Packed on a Tuesday night! Steve took care of us, and everything was amazing. Can’t wait to go back! Best Japanese in Seattle!
Awesome service! Delicious sushi!!! Highly recommend the chef’s choice options!
We had a great dinner. We will go back. The special rolls were fantastic.
