Amazing experience, would totally recommend going. Came in from out of town and would definitely make it here again the next time we come to Seattle. The food was amazing, service was outstanding and loved every bit of the experience.
I have been eating sushi for almost 50 years. This is a world clash sushi bar.
The inability to take discover cards caused my date to go all the way to an atm to pay for this date. It's a nice place, but it doesn't say anywhere that discover isn't accepted. It was embarrassing and annoying.
But everything else was great.
Excellent service and sushi plus many more interesting dishes. Server recommendations were excellent!
The best sushi and dedication to freshness that I have had in a long time. Fantastic dishes and service is very friendly.
Taichi really knows his fish and is a great conversationalist at the sushi bar
I love sushi and there is no doubt SKT has a menu to drool over. My issue is simply the cost. They seem to have gotten even more expensive than I remember. $10-$13 for a single order (two pieces) of sashimi really adds up. Be prepared to drop $150 easy during a weeknight dinner for two. Ouch!
The food is always delicious and fresh, the wait service is the best I've ever experienced in Seattle; the service is fast, always professional, and they take the time to explain every part of their dish. Everything is hands down delicious, even the cocktails. I enjoyed their mojito and margarita with the smoked black salt on the rim. I highly recommend to any sushi lover who is willing to pay for high quality food.
Frequent guests. Always have a good time. Highly recommend.
The best sushi I had between Seattle and Washington DC markets. Menu is full of amazing fish and beautiful arrangement that justify the price. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Ambiance is light, fresh and real.
Had the chirashi sushi with miso soup. The soup had nice flavor, but was too weak and tasted watered out. The chirashi was a messy pile made of nice, but too chunky components of fish and too much ikura roe which made it over salted. This was second time at the restaurant and could not live up to the first where we had all small dishes which were absolutely fantastic.
Amazing...as always! Food was spectacular. Service was timely and presentation was first class. This is, by far, my favorite sushi spot in Seattle.
Amaze-balls. This place leaves you wanting to go back every day. If you’re the richest person in the world (looking at you, Bezos) you probably would go every day. Anyway, the food is fantastic. Perfect presentation of a perfect cut of fish. It’s pricey, but when quality counts, go here.
On Opentable, it would be recommended that this restaurant will add up 20% tip on top of the bill. Even with the service we thought should have been great, we could not give the lesser service charge. Food quality can be better and the employee should have a better uniform, no bras showing on the back as it represents authentic Japanese restaurant even outside of Japan.
Hands-down the best sushi I’ve ever had
Absolute favorite sushi restaurant. Food and service always amazing.
We ate as a foursome and sat outside. The food was good but not particularly memorable.
The omakase was wonderful
Amazing food! Fresh fish. Excellent sake.
Yet another great dining experience at sushi kappo tamura! Bobby served up roll after roll of amazing nigiri from their expansive fresh selection. One of the best sushi bars in town. Came for my birthday and it was a great night.
If you are Japanese, I don’t recommend you to go this restaurant. This restaurant forces to take 20% tips without any notification prior and food was not worth for the price (e.g. $90 for 12 pieces of sashimi. We should be able to get less than$50 in LA according to my experience).
They looked to tried get money as much as possible by unfair way. I’m our case, we ordered madai for one person, but they served for two persons without any notification. Almost customers were not Japanese/asian. This definitely means what the restaurant is. I will claim to a Japanese guidebook which introduces this restaurant.
Love the tasting menu. I had my birthday there. Great food and sake.
Just about perfect. Really great choice of different foods. Sake great
King of sushi in seattle. Hands down
I am a little bit disappointed with fish quality at this time. I always had the best quality that is why I go there often but this time salmon had slight smell that it was old. Disappointed. Hope it will be better in future.
Edward was a fabulous and professional waiter. He was highly attentive and knew all about the menu and cuisine. We had a wonderful birthday celebration!!
Simply great sushi. We eat here every month or so. It great quality.
Awesome as usual!!
One of the best sushi meals we've had. The chef is fantastic!
SO good! delicious food and great service. The portions are small for the price, but it is delicious. Best mochi I have ever had!!
As a 50th birthday treat, I went with family and friends for omakase (chef's selection tasting menu). We had five course + dessert and flights of whiskeys, sakes, and shochu. Two in our party had special dietary restrictions (no sulfites, no gluten) that many restaurants find tricky. This was hands down the best dinner I've had in Seattle (been here 11 years) and quite possibly the best I've had anywhere, which includes a couple Michelin-starred restaurants. The service was truly outstanding, the quality of the food was mind-blowing, and the presentation was top-notch. Make no mistake, omakase is a very expensive dining experience. But I feel it was worth every penny. I'll never forget it.
Best sushi place in Seattle.
From the moment we stepped in to Sushi Kappo Tamura we knew we had chosen well. The front of house was friendly and seated us immediately. Our server was fantastic! The pacing was just right, and the food itself was out of this world - fresh, beautifully prepared, delicious. We'll be going back.
Have dined here several times with friends and family — our favorite sushi spot in Seattle. Always first rate food and service!
Great food! The best sushi in Seattle! Great customer service.
We had a wonderful time celebrating our wedding anniversary at this serene and elegant little gem of a restaurant. I grew up in Kyoto and Sushi Kappo Tamura makes me feel like the Kamogawa is not far away at all for good reason, the sushi chef is from Kyoto too! The food is refined and delicious with most of it noted on the menu as certified sustainably caught seafood. This is one of the best Japanese restaurants around, not over subscribed and not hard to get to, even parking is not too hard to find.
Its obvious why this chef was a James Beard nominee. Outstanding execution of a thoughtful, unique menu. This is not just a sushi restaurant (Although the sushi is A++). This was a first time visit for our guest and they say it is now their favorite restaurant. One of the top few restaurants in Seattle.
I had sushi my companion had sashimi. We shared a yogurt panna cotta ($3) with a delicious, fruity topping.
