Sushi Kappo Tamura Ratings and Reviews
This was probably the best sushi meal I have ever had! Everything was amazing, but particularly the sashami was above anything we had ever had before. I will be back and would recommend this to anyone looking for great sushi.
They are quite pricey, but worth it for a special occasion.
Ate early -- @ 6:00 -- before a concert at Meany Hall. Sat at the counter where we watched our dishes being prepared and had personal service/recommendations. Very attentive staff. All the fish were very fresh, succulent, accented with subtle sauces. No need to drown anything in soy sauce. Tuna with kale salad was memorable. Going with a small group would enable tasting a greater variety of dishes.
We went there to celebrate a 16th birthday, and it was a good choice. Our server was especially solicitous, especially of the birthday girl. The food was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. There was a great variety of dishes, including great dessert choices.
I spent more than I had expected, but it was a special dinner.
yet another great experience at Sushi Kappo Tamura! I have been going here for the past 4 years and it keeps getting better. Bobby at the sushi counter was amazing. he served up piece after piece of fresh, perfect sushi. each one better than the one before. multiple types and cuts of tuna, snapper, yellowtail, and even two versions of uni! it was my GFs birthday and they made it a special night. perfect.
Our waiter Edward was very knowledgeable in helping us select our meal.
The rolls we ordered were fresh and tasty. Black Dragon Roll , Golden Dragon Roll and Spider roll all very good!
Braised Snake River Farms wagyu beef skirt konabe with maitake mushrooms and yuchoi, awesome!
My husband and I have lived all across the country and we’ve had much better sushi at a much better value. For the cost of a special roll $23/8 pieces, we were expecting something delicious. Not the case. Very blah and it tasted like it had quacamole from a grocery store inside the roll. The spicy tuna and shrimp tempura rolls were bland and had the same avacado taste. Fish quality was mediocre. They don’t have much of a variety of flavorful rolls. Seems like 80% of them have the same cucumber and avacado in them. All in all, we will not be back.
easy parking across the street
Easy to get reservation
(not many people inside for a Saturday night)
The standard rolls are at least reasonably priced - average $10
My wife and I went to celebrate our anniversary. We ended up having to take our children because we couldn't get a babysitter. Even then we had an Awesome time. Everything and everyone made our experience there wonderful! And the food is to die for. I'll definitely be back!!!
Long time customer. The sushi is excellent, with a focus on sustainable seafood and local ingredients. Bobby the sushi chef is knowledgeable and friendly. Steve has been helping us to explore fine sake for years. And of course Taichi the executive chef has created killer signature dishes Skagit River Ranch Organic Pork Tenderloin Tonkatsu, mustard greens with Washington albacore and almond wasabi sauce, House Made Millet Mochi sweet azuki beans. Go omakase if you can!
The sushi weren’t as good as I remembered the first time and the previous time I went. I’m not sure if the chef has changed.
We ordered majority of the sushi on the sushi menu. The fish on the sushi weren’t as large as last time, with aburi toro I remember was amazing wasn’t broiled nearly enough and wasn’t flavorful either. The only sushi was decent was Uni.
Ippins were pretty good. We had the wagyu in the clay pot, the collard greens goma-ae twist both were pretty good.
I liked the yuzu panna cotta and my boyfriend liked the chestnut creme brûlée.
