Sushi Kappo Tamura Ratings and Reviews
First impression, very aesthetically pleasing. From the lighting to the sake pottery, the style of the restaurant is very calming and contemporary. The food was amazing. The sea bream (which has a really cool iridescent rainbow color) sashimi literally tasted like tomato and I've never experienced that before. By far the best was the Kagoshima hamachi sashimi, it was so fresh and the had a gorgeous red pink ombré color. Very picture-worthy. Overall a great experience and a great find. Would recommend to anyone.
Food and service were outstanding - but be prepared to spend. Had some unique dishes that were excellent - my waitress did a great job understanding my level of adventurism (which is high) and brought me dishes to match. Would definitely return when I return to Seattle.
Impressive selection of sake -
Went for lunch with a close business friend. Staff took amazing care to make sure we had privacy to talk business but were available to see to our needs. Asked them to surprise us as opposed to just ordering right off the menu. Edward asked a couple of quick questions and then blew us away with our lunch. Can’t wait to come back and do this again.
This was the best recommendation I received while visiting Seattle! It was a bit pricey but completely worth it. The sushi was the best I've ever had. The udon noodle bowl was also perfect for the colder, rainy weather. I'd happily go back next time I'm in the area!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Both of our servers were thoroughly informed of each part of the menu which was appreciated greatly. The miso soup was a unique surprise (try it) and they customized our sushi requests as neither of us like cucumbers. The saki suggested for my husband's meal was the perfect accompaniment. Highly recommend this small yet nicely appointed restaurant.
Another great experience at Sushi Kappa T ! Matt, Bob, Owners Bob and Steve are the best ! They really make you feel welcomed, they are always professional and service oriented, and it's the BEST Sushi in Seattle. Period. Met a lovely couple at the Sushi bar - this was their 3rd time there and they agreed with me! It truly is the best - so take your wife/husband/friends/dates there, sit at the bar, and be prepared to be taken on an experience!
Wonderful food with great ambiance. Sushi Kappo Tamura focuses on the sustainable. They even grow their own organic greens and shiso in their rooftop garden in the summer. Many a la carte choices and they also offer different sized tasting menus. The sashimi is divine.
Sushi Kappo Tamura always delivers! I am always happy dining here. The service is phenomenal and gives you the impression that they really care about how they come across from the first greeting when you walk through the door to their sincerity when they clear your plates. The food is amazing but the service is what keeps me coming back.
This was my annual birthday meal with a friend of mine for the past 27 years. She was born 27 years ago. We both love sushi and Sushi Kappo Tamura didn't disappoint. Great food and the service was right on target. We added the dragon roll at the end...Perfect and Delicious.
Having lived in Japan for several years, this is like coming back again. The food is extraordinary and if you like Sake, they have an amazing list to chose from. Finally, if there is just a few of you eating, I recommend sitting at the bar...you see the food prepared in front of you while select what looks interesting.
This was our second time to Sushi Kappo Tamura, and it did not disappoint. Our server, Edward, demonstrated an in-depth understanding of sake and recommended rolls to us that had something for everyone. Our favorites were the oysters and the Hamtastic roll - so much more elegant than it sounds! It was a fantastic experience, we’ll be back!
We were visiting Seattle from Michigan and wanted to find a great sushi spot - this fit the bill and did not disappoint. The fish was incredibly fresh, including the Wild King Crab and Salmon. Service was fast and friendly. A short Lyft ride from our downtown hotel made for an easy night out.
Kappo Sushi Tamura is a first-rate establishment. Taichi-san provides that rare combination of businessman, artist, top chef and personality that makes every visit enjoyable.
The food is always fresh, as with the brunch this time, the service attentive but not intrusive, and his conversational style of paying attention to guests provides an overall enjoyable experience.
I recommend Taichi and his work as one of the first-rate restaurants of any type in Seattle.
Go there and have a great experience every time.
We sat at the bar for omakase to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. They really made him feel special - wished him Happy Birthday when we arrived, left a card for him on the table, offered a complimentary dessert as well. The omakase was delicious with a great variety. The Chef was friendly and thoughtful and the server gave great wine & sake recommendations. Overall it was a great experience!
