Sushi Kappo Tamura
Tamura is a Kappo style restaurant where food is prepared in an open kitchen and served quickly in a lively environment where staff and guests talk about the food and beyond. Our goal is to become the very best restaurant to our guests by getting to know them and serving them in a personable yet professional manner.

Very tasty and will definitely be returning. Service was outstanding. They have a ginger that I love.
We were in a quiet area of restaurant but a noisy happy group sat next to us. The food, as always, was perfection!
First time diners at Kappo Tamura....very impressed with the service and the quality of the sushi. Enjoyed our evening very much. Thank you
Another amazing experience. The food, service and ambience is fantastic. High end dining without the pretension of other similar restaurants.
The omakase is amazing. Trust the chefs! Do the sake pairing!
Found this gem for a NYE dinner and its now a new fav!Great service and knowledgeable staff. We got a rundown of the menu and ended up going with a few apps, sushi combo and a golden dragon roll. All of it was delish! I’ll be going back soon
There is a reason why this is our favorite sushi restaurant. The quality of the fish is exceptional. The servers are incredibly knowledgeable about the food, sake, pairings, etc. The service was attentive yet never looming. We had superb nigiri, some of which was new to us (try the nigiri omakase). Our server built a custom flight of sakes for us to try — such a fun dining experience for us! We love SKT!
The tempura was so so good. Crispy with great flavor!!!
This is our go to restaurant for Sushi in an upscale setting. We enjoy chatting with the owner chef over fresh local
Great dinner for our family get together! Can't wait to go back!
Aside from their outstanding food, they went to extra effort to squeeze us in on Sat eve after I mistakenly made my reserva for 2 instead of our 4. Edward was outstanding, esp careful not to make us feel rushed, despite another party due in a short time. Thanks so much to the front of house staff too! They were quick to figure out a plan, while not making us feel like leaving! You all ROCK!
One of my favorite sushi places in Seattle!!!!
Best sushi in Seattle, pricey but we'll worth it. We've been going here for years, for us it's a special occasion place, but there are always lots of regulars in there too.
Jak's service was thoughtful and attentive. The variety of specialty rolls and additional side dishes was appealing. The sustainable options were appreciated. We dined with two friends, who also enjoyed their experience.
My favorite sushi restaurant hands down. So lucky it’s in my neighborhood! Always warm friendly service. Love the counter seating. I keep adding a new dish to try that becomes the ‘must have’ dish for next time. The Dragon roll is fantastic and one of my favorites.
Get the omakase and sit in front of taichi. Enjoy every bite. Don’t do the 7 course. Go with the 13 and more if you’re hungry. Trust me.
Service was wonderful and the sushi is hands down of the highest quality. But slightly shocked by the bill at the end. Expect to pay a small fortune for an amazing sushi experience.
Recommendations were very good. Actual food was marginal at best. The cod was delicious, the hamachi roll was fair and the spider roll was absolutely the worst, smallest, and biggest rip off I’ve ever seen in a sushi restaurant.
A superb place to have Sushi et al. First class place, great service. You can't really go wrong. Being first-class, it is somewhat expensive, and is NOT a Sushi boat place! Great date or special celebration place. Parking can be a bit difficult, so arrive early.
Outstanding service and staff. The food not only looked immaculate, it was extraordinarily delicious.
Great food and service! Outstanding selection of fish with lots of options! Mel was excellent at the counter! Very friendly! Will go back when I go to Seattle!
Love everything about Sushi Kappo Tamura. EVERYTHING! The chawan mushi is yummy, the kampachi kama is wonderful, and the rolls are terrific. Lots to choose from on the menu. Tips included. Awesome service.
Good food, but not extraordinary for the price. After reading a few local articles on this restaurant, I was expecting much more. Staff very friendly.
They have the best miso black cod in town!
Waiter was amazing. Food was amazing. Fish so fresh!
Amazing Sushi place. Edward was a fabulous waiter, and made great recommendations. The Hokkaido Uni was to die for, and loved the lighter Nigori Sake they had!
Wonderful atmosphere. Omakase was overpriced
Always the very best sushi in Seattle and beyond.
Always a pleasure
World class food and service in a neighborhood-friendly location.
Amazing service and food. The best in the city!
Attentive care with the food, the serving dishes, the atmosphere and for us it’s a convenient location with parking easily available.
Service is indifferent. Expensive. Good but not exceptional.
I received a recommendation to got to this restaurant for the best sushi in Seattle. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The food and service were excellent. I will definitely return during my next visit to Seattle.
Outstanding local seafood prepared expertly prepared, excellent service, a true gem.
We made a reservation, quickly were sat at the bar, Matt was extremely helpful and made fantastic sushi, he was also knowledgeable on the fish they had and suggestions for us to try. Great time, great atmosphere too!!
Wonderful weekend lunch. Great food and service.
Very good sushi and a wonderful dining experience.
My wife and I got the 6-course Omakase with the sake pairing. The sushi courses were EXTREMELY small - the two sushi courses consisted of 2 or 3 pieces of nigiri. Then the sake pairing only included 5 sakes for a 6-course Omakase - no sake with desert even though there were several desert sakes on the menu. Very disappointing performance from a restaurant we have enjoyed many times in the past.
Wonderful place:). We go a couple times a month. Parking isn’t easy.
We went for brunch, 11:15 am on Saturday. Only customers. Great food and GREAT service!
