We serve 2 omakase courses, both a 12 piece and 16 piece course. We feature seasonal fish on a daily basis, often accommodating the individual preferences, such as kosher style. However, there’s no vegetarian, vegan nor strict
gluten free alternatives.
We are open from Tuesday to Sunday and offer 3 seatings, 5:30 PM, 7:15 PM and 9:00 PM, except Sundays, when the last seating is 9 PM. We are closed Mondays.
Absolutely first rate and worth every penny. Fish was delicious and seasoned perfectly. And an excellent assortment. They also have a fine sake selection. They offer three seatings but never felt rushed at the 16 seat sushi bar.
Each piece was simple and delicious. I wish we could go everyday.
Outstanding omakase. Service was excellent. Some of the freshest fish I have ever tasted.
Excellent sushi. Great blend of traditional pieces and more experimental stuff.
It was a great experience. Small, unpretentious place with terrific sushi and gracious, Japanese style service.
good service and food
Already recommended it to friends. The omakase was outstanding. The counter was comfortable. The service was great.
Excellent food and excellent service. Would highly recommend.
Amazing omakase & very intimate atmosphere. Perfect for a special date!
It’s all about the food. So simple yet so great!
Sushi Kaito is consistently excellent fresh sushi, and friendly service. I have been several times and plan to return !
Very fresh fish expertly prepared in front of us. Servers paid close attention to our needs. We had the 12 piece menu and it was more than enough food.
Amazing Omakase in a quaint private-feeling setting
Excellent as always! Service is wonderful and every bite delicious.
I don’t write reviews, but it was so good I’m writing one now. Really reasonably priced omakase, delicious and fresh. Will definitely be back.
Delicious omikase. Superb sushi chef. Highly recommend.
Ichiban oishi!!!!! Superb fresh sushi & all ingredients. Wasabi for example is freshly ground. Superb traditional Nehon-no service also. A very enjoyable and exceptionally delicious experience worth repeating over & over!
Improvements could be the addition of Shochu and nama beru (tap beru).
A local gem; just wish only us locals new about it since it's quite small and fills up quickly.
A wonderful place. Great sushi, great value, nice people.
One of the best Omakase offerings in the city.
Hands-down best sushi experience all around. My husband and I no longer have sushi anywhere else. Aside from the food, everyone there is personable and extremely gracious.
Their sushi is one of the best in Manhattan. The Omakase price INCLUDES tax and tip. I think this is one of the best deals for Omakase in Manhattan. I'm so glad I live nearby.
Sushi was delicious and a great value, served by a very friendly and professional sushi chef
Went as part of a Christmas gift for my girlfriend. It was not only the best sushi I’ve had in nyc but it’s the best experience. I’m such a small place with only a few seats you got to understand the sushi chef and what they were doing.
Only disappointment was oysters, or lack there of. I guess I can’t complain as it’s omakese but my friend went and LOVED the oyster which I think we had salmon roe instead. Will have to go back to try the oyster
Best sushi I've had in NYC--every piece was wonderful. Small 12 seat bar, staff attentive. Recommend!!
Best sushi in Manhattan!
The fish is FRESH but the pieces are not as creative as I would have liked - solid basic omakase - at a good price point ! Again fish is fresh!!!
This was a birthday dinner that did not disskpiont.
The preparation was simple and elegant of each slice of imported fish.
The sushi chef was skilled.
The food was outstanding.
We had a nice anniversary.
Food is incredible.
Staff is lovely.
Best sushi I have had anywhere, hands down. Nobu, Tao and others take note. Fantastic presentation at the sushi bar (only option), options are 12 or 19 pieces, chef’s choice. If you truly enjoy higher end sushi/sashimi, this is a must do
It's truly a hidden gem on the UWS, especially on a part of 72nd street that you wouldn't think of as having good (actually, great) sushi. My mother and I attended on a whim and hoping to discover a new restaurant in our neighborhood. The fish, rice, and preparation were all fantastic. The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and intimate -- while still being vibrant. The only quibble we had was that perhaps there was just a shred too much rice for each piece. While we both had the 12-course omakase, we both thought that having any more rice than that would have been too much. Also, in trying to not be rude/disrespectful to the chef, we both ate all of the rice... I also appreciated how thorough they were with placement of guests (each reservation had its own "card" so you knew where you were sitting) and that they reached out in advance to ask about any allergies or preferences. This is certainly not an every day or casual place, but I can definitely see myself coming back for a special occasion or for when guests are coming in from out of town. An incredible deal, great vibe, and very welcoming staff. Thank you!
Elite. Elite. Elite.
Always a pleasure. I’ve request Chef Feri every time and they’ve accommodated. It’s a great place to chat with loved ones while eating some phenomenal sushi.
Best sushi I have had in New York and for an excellent price! 16 course omakase for $125 is unheard of for this level of quality
Amazing food and service
I was hoping for more creative sushi pieces as Sushi Gari restaurant or and Sushi Seike. Pieces are mostly plain with sauce on top. But the fish is very fresh.
A wonderful experience - each piece is made in front of you, and every one is delicious.
Really cool and delicious place ... unique and classy a
High quality sushi, great service
A waitress a Japanese and very skinny was annoying
