Excellent dining experience, especially for an outdoor dining experience on a rainy night.
Went for Valentine's Day, which was foggy/drizzly. Although we know the restaurant can't control the weather, staff told us that we couldn't change seats from our sidewalk seats to covered seats given that they had a system in place for later reservations. However, other tables who arrived at or near our reservation asked to move and were subsequently moved. On top of the seating issue, the Wagu came out cold, despite my partner's being very hot. All in all, it was difficult justifying the price.
There weren't 6 feet of separation between the tables and we were anxious when people talked around us without masks. Beside from that, the food was outstanding.
The ingredients were of course amazing - toro, uni, truffles - but the meal was frankly let down by bad rice.
It was hard and *cold* and there was just too much of it relative to how little fish there was. Each piece tasted the same as the last - a pretty serious inditement of expensive sushi.
Is it nitpicky to complain about rice? Yes, of course. But when the omakese is >$100, everything should be pretty close to perfect. It wasn't.
Nice sushi. Taste really good. Service was good as well. We had an outdoor seating due to Covid. It was fine. Prices are a little high, but it is San Francisco.
Amazing plates of sushi with excellent service. Outdoor dining is a but loud but they are doing their best!
Such warm and welcoming staff! Loved our experience!
AMAZING quality food, service & ambience was great. Would highly recommend getting the omakase & additonal supplements. 10/10!!
Food was delicious. Tasting menu was well paced and thoughtfully composed. Attentive and friendly service. Thorough COVID-19 precautions. Would very highly recommend!
The food was so good and the servers and sushi chef was very nice. They upgraded one of our dishes for free! Definitely recommend.
Great restaurant; food is excellent, particularly for the price point. The outdoor dining experience due to the COVID-19 pandemic is good and the staff are friendly and attentive.
Celebrated my engagement at Sushi Hon and it was phenomenal. The service was exceptional, the plating and courses were fantastic, and the attention to our special day was appreciated. Would definitely recommend for a nicer dinner or a great way to follow a special event.
Incredible food and experience. Can't wait to return!
The customer service was OUTSTANDING. While I have had better nigiri at other, cheaper restaurants, the ambience was superb, and the customer service is beyond comparison.
The rolls I had were very good.
I highly recommend this restaurant. :)
Felt like a very safe outdoor dining experience. The most authentic and delicious sushi I’ve had in SF.
They’re doing a great job with sidewalk dining. Less ambiance but the omakase quality is still there.
Overall ok experience. Sushi rice was a bit cold and overpowered the taste of fish. Also it would’ve been nice if they could block the sidewalk where the tables are. There were people without mask walking by our table throughout the dinner.
Incredible sushi great service
Great to be eating at out at quality establishments. The fish was beautiful and the choices unique. The restaurant fills up quick, make a reservation and get ready to go on your omakase journey.
Very nice and the outdoor seating was quiet and warm for the Fall weather.
Fantastic outdoor omakase, great ambience and service. Highly recommend!
craving for sushi after months of lock-down. this place just hit the spot.
Amazing value for their omakase! Their head chef has been innovating and changing their menu often enough that it makes sense to come back to try other items. One of the top omakase spots in SF.
Great food and service, very accommodating to our food needs (crustacean allergy).
One of my very favorite places, the fish is so high quality, expertly prepared, and completely delicious.
Service was exceptional and the food was good too! We got the omakase. We had to do outdoor dining bc of covid so it was cold but I would still recommend it. Would go again 👍🏼
Incredible!!!
Superb traditional omakase experience in SF! The sushi quality and variety were both excellent, service was friendly and efficient, and their outside dining area was quaint and comfortable on a warm SF evening. I'll definitely be back!
So happy to have outdoor omakase during covid. The food and service was great. Sitting outside ended up being a plus instead of a negative. Highly recommend.
I like the effort in making it feel normal regardless of Covid. Our server was nice but seemed a little overwhelmed. Overall fun night and good food!
Phenomenal. Sushi gets better and better in SF and this place is currently at the top. We were blown away. Far and away more interesting than most. The fish cutting and rice expertise we’re apparent as was the highest quality of all I Fredi eta. Do the o añade the first time you go
Best Omakase in SF
Sushi Hon has great food and excellent service in a relaxed but lovely atmosphere.
As usual a wonderful omakase experience. Fish was fresh with little preparation and not overdone.
Mediocre sushi, obiously trying to cut cost. Super small sushi with inexpensive cuts like mackerel (and lots of it). Some sushi old and stale.
We had Omakase at Sushi Hon for my fiancé’s birthday on valentines and it was absolutely phenomenal. Amazing bar side service. fish was fresh and deliciously salivating. Amazing variety and the amount of dishes were more than fulfilling. Chefs were fun and attentive. Great atmosphere for a date night.
Great service and food - no real complaints at all.
Excellent, well thought out meal. All staff showed great attention to detail.
A very lovely omakase dinning experience. The wine and sake pairing was delicious, and with generous pours.
Chef Li was fantastic, highly recommended sushi restaurant
