    The price went up $35 dollars compared to last year but food quality is not good. Also I feel like numbers of course were cut down. I was not full even I got the premium upgrade. Last time I was here, I got the standard omakase but it made me full. This time, the decoration of all dishes were not invested, especially the dessert compare to last time. One more thing, the restaurant was not busy but someone called me to ask if I could sit on the bar instead of table even though I booked online for table dinner 3 days ago. Fully disappointed this time and never come back again!

    Sushi hon is in a great location but the food was not up to par. The fish was sitting on the counter pre cut prior to us arriving. It did not taste fresh or tender. The chef put so much wasabi in the sushi the fish was barely noticed.

    Though there appears to be an a la carte option online, there was only an overpriced omakase option. The sushi was fine, but not outstanding, especially given the price point. San Francisco has many better sushi options, including omakase, for far more affordable prices.

    The customer service was simply incredible! We had an earlier reservation - 5:30pm on a Saturday night. We felt extremely catered to throughout our entire experience. The music was great, though it was at times a little hard to hear our chef as he was explaining each dish. The food was incredible, so fresh, and really a highlight to the fish with each serving. Overall, a wonderful experience. We're very satisfied

    The restaurant has some service issues, but this was on Valentine’s Day so it’s possible this was a one-off occurrence. Our omakase took 3 hours with very long delays 30-40 minutes between servings. One course was skipped but by that time it was getting late and we just wanted to go home. The manager was very apologetic and compensated our bill as well as some complimentary sake. My guess is they were severely understaffed for a packed Valentine’s Day and I’m hesitant to give a negative review with how apologetic the manager was, but the fact remains we paid nearly $500 (after the comps!) for two people and the experience was really not good. The restaurant was also very cold the entire evening and we weren’t sitting by the door. I ordered one glass of wine and would have ordered several more over the 3 hours we were there but no one came to check on us. Really bizarre experience from what is normally a great restaurant.

    LOVED the omakase here and it's super reasonable (if you don't get supplements) but of course, we had to. It was worth it. The A5 wagyu, the uni, OMG. So good. We did Hinata for my birthday but both agreed this one was better and more affordable. Thanks so much for the amazing experience!

    Have been to Sushi Hon many times and always had a great time. Was my go-to omakase place and I've probably referred 10 different friends and colleagues there. However, last night things were different. First, they made my family wait in the cold and rain to be checked in, rather than letting us stand inside the door OR even better, temporarily seating us at the small bar in the front. Instead it was a rather terse "please stand outside" without apology or explanation (the place was not packed - there was easily room and this seems to be an operational decision). I understand they have a business to run, but when you're paying top dollar for a fancy meal it puts a real damper on the evening if your out of town elderly Mother is freezing, and the host is taking their sweet time to seat you. Perhaps even a heater/blankets would help, or just temporarily relax your rules when there's a storm! Overall pretty disappointed to see this attitude from a place I associate with so many good memories. The food was good, of course, but somehow all of the above made it seem overpriced. Also PS - ditch the loud, "smooth" 80s jazz. Not sure who made that choice but it's a bad one.

    We felt the omakase did not meet the standard for its price. We think there were a few items that tasted good but overall it was mediocre for the price we paid. Had we paid half of the amount ($210 for 2 people instead of $420 for 2 people) then we would’ve given this restaurant a higher rating.

    Service was kind and good, but we got charged for teas and sparkling waters that we didn’t order. Nonetheless, we were glad that we got the genmaicha. The omakase tasted great! The fish was fresh, and the subtle garnishes would deliver an incredible experience on every bite. The sake markups seemed higher than other sushi restaurants that we frequent. I will definitely come here in the future.

    Had a wonderful date night at Sushi Hon with my hubby for our anniversary celebration. The sea urchin is my favorite, so milky and sweet. The A5 wagu included in the chef special supplement is so good that it just melts in your mouth. The food quality is top notch and service is awesome also. The only complaint I have is the red miso soup with the dessert pana cotta, the soup does not really go with the sweet dessert for me. Other than that our date night is perfect.

    way too loud. we were a party of 2 and were screaming at each other throughout the whole meal. wasn’t the music, just really bad acoustics. would not recommend. service was also gruff. far better sushi restaurants around that offer a better experience.

    Absolutely excellent service and quality. The staff paid attention to every detail. Each bite was interesting and amazing. Truly an experience! There were two of us, the total bill was $600 with gratuity.

    The food was amazing and the service was top notch as it has been the few times I've been before. There was a large and relatively noisy group of guys (bros?) next to our table during the last 45 or so minutes of our dinner that I didn't expect the service staff to police, but nonetheless made having conversations at our own table more difficult than expected. Regardless, the experience from the perspective of getting the best of what the chefs at Sushi Hon can offer was amazing and our party had an enriching culinary experience.

    Amazing Omakase experience, highly recommended! Everything, from food quality to preparation and presentation of the dishes, was outstanding, the staff is excellent and professional, knows the menu by heart and explain everything before every dish. Atmosphere is really nice and what we expected from a high-end Japanese restaurant but without being pretentious. Top!

    Great place for a foodie. Was very accommodating to one of our parties shell fish allergies. Just remember it's a fixed menu. Did the smaller course and was full. Paired it with the sake
