We are picky sushi eaters but this has truly been one our best sushi experiences ever. Inventive but but also very authentic and not over engineered. We would definitely recommend sitting at the counter and paying for the pairing which was delicious and thoughtful. We will certainly be back.

We sat at the sushi bar for the full sushi experience. Chef Alex walked us through every dish, from where the inspiration came from to the source of the fish and how the flavors developed. Highly recommend.

Fantastic sushi and great service. Not a lot of ambiance, doesn’t feel as high-end as it is, but definitely worth a trip if you’re in the mood for sushi. Prices are SF/$$$$

Best omakase experience! Highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar. Chef Alex was so sweet and every course we had was delightfully amazing. The restaurant had such a modern vibe. I loved that chef Alex explained he wanted to do an older traditional way of making sushi but it looked just as modern as the restaurant and again tasted so delicious! The toro, uni and the salmon were some of my favorites and the panna cotta at the end was literally to die for.

Been here a few times. It's a wonderful experience. The menu is fantastic, the sake wine pairing is especially good. Great for foodies, a special evening, or an excuse to dress upamd do something.

Hands down the best omakase I’ve experienced between San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Miami, and London . Chef Alex is extremely knowledgeable about every single one of his dish. The level of detail and expertise that goes into him designing each piece is a story of itself. I definitely recommend the pairing and bar for the full experience.

This restaurant should be on the EATER 38 Essentials list. This is the Best Sushi in San Francisco. Every item on the menu is a piece of art. The Perfect date night. The Bar Experience is worth every dime and more.

Look, its expensive yes. But it has to be the best sushi i've had in the city if not ever and chef Alex Kim is a delight and beyond talented. Sit at the bar, be ready to pay up and have your mind blown.

Amazing, amazing time. Chef Alex is so passionate about his food and the dining experience for the rest of us. His thoughtfulness really comes through each item of the omakase experience. Highly recommend the Bar Experience, so you can watch the master at work and enjoy some conversation with him, too. This was a night to remember!

Great food and service, certainly joins the top five or so Japanese restaurants in the Bay Area. Prices are accordingly very high, probably making this a once- or twice a year place not a "regular" Sake pairing for the set menu was very-well-matched and each sake would have bee great on its own, and our server knew his sakes very well. We had the 7(?)-course set menu which was perfect for foodies, but challenging for dinner conversation since it demanded lots of explanation interruptions. Decor quite basic, but staff and chef were warm and welcoming. A great success and a welcome high-end addition to the neighborhood.

Our meal was everything we wanted it to be. The room is somewhat plain but very calm and classy. The fact that there's a difference (in items and price) between the table and bar menus is a little confusing, but overall the night was flawless. Each dish was something special. The wait staff was knowledgeable and solicitous. The presentation was amazing. Oh, the sake was also perfect. What a great night. I would not have expected anything less for $175 pp prix fixe (w an optional $35 hand roll add-on, which we declined).

Incredible restaurant and cannot believe more ppl rn’t talking about this place. I’ve had omakase at quite a few place in San Francisco and I feel that this is one of the best. The head chef made it a very special, intimate, and passionate tasting experience. Really need to come back here!
