味、サービス、メニュー、すべてが最高峰という印象で、二度目の来訪。ペアリングも素晴らしく記念日を彩ることが出来ました。惜しむらくは、常連と思わしき方がだいぶ騒がしく、パートナーの方に対してではなく大将や女将さんを大将に大声でお話されているのが非常に迷惑だった。

Great experience! Not recommended for the casual sushi roll eater, very intense. Chef omakase selections were great! Service was wonderful. Note that the restaurant is on the second floor opposite where it’s noted on Open Table. Stairwell is dark, no signage at all. Locals were very nice to help us and knew the restaurant by name.

金額に対して品数が少ないと感じたし、隣のお客は私よりも一品多かった。常連へのサービス？ペアリングの前に、とビールをお願いしたがビールが終わる前にペアリングのワインが出てきて食卓がドリンクで渋滞した。私の到着が10分弱ほど遅れてしまったのが原因ではあるが、他のお客のペースに合わせるためかどんどん料理が出てきてここでもちょっとした渋滞がおきた。

Tldr: Snobby, impolite, and arrogant. Foreigners beware. Reserved via Opentable and showed up for a 6pm reservation. Had received 2 notifications from Opentable in last 3 days asking to confirm my reservation to which I responded. Restaurant had no clue that we were coming and we were unable to dine. They claimed that Opentable had been finicky and that they did not see my reservation. While I understand their view that this is not their fault, I really did not appreciate their snobby attitude and the fact that they did not once say that they were sorry this happened. They just told me go to complain to Opentable and that this isn’t their problem or fault. Today was my mom’s 60th birthday and I had flown my parents into Japan to celebrate. This was supposed to be the highlight of the trip and their arrogant attitude and disregard for the inconvenience caused were really not appreciated. They had known that Opentable has been problematic and yet continued to use it, so I personally think they should have at least said sorry, which they really refused to even when I made a comment about it. For a restaurant at this price range where it’s upwards of $300+, I really expected much better.

Very cosy and calm atmosphere. Incredible food with high quality ingredients. The chef also made sure to explain every single course. In the end, he even gave a small gift to all the guests. Definitely recommend this place for Omakase.

Chef Fukuzuka has created a truly remarkable restaurant. It seats only six at a counter and he stands behind this counter creating sushi and other dishes that are simply astounding. It has to be one of the great secrets of Tokyo. He is charming and so attentive all whilst serving truly amazing food. An experience that we will remember for a very very long time. If there was any criticism at all it would be to have some indication of the cost of the meal. Whilst worth every penny, it certainly is not cheap at all.

It’s not my first time having sushi Omakase, but Sushi Fukuzuka totally blown me away. The whole dining experience was so one of a kind, and the food quality was top of its kind. It was almost a perfect night except for one moment i dropped the sushi, which I felt so bad for ruining the art piece. Highly recommended to anyone who’s looking for an unique sushi experience. It’s not just another great sushi, it’s different.

神楽坂の路地裏に、控えめに、品良く佇む江戸前鮨の名店。風にたなびく暖簾をくぐれば、まるで会員制のラウンジのような薄暗く洒落た雰囲気の店内に、朧げにライトアップされた白木のカウンターが展開します。その佇まいは、豪華というより幽玄。極めて上質な意匠です。近年、江戸前鮨にも熟成製法や温度差別化など革新的な手法がいくつも誕生してますが、なんだかんだ最後は、職人さんの手間暇と技量だと個人的には思います。もちろん、ピンネタなど素材が主役なのは不動のファクターですが、個人的には、やはり腕かなぁ、と思います。その意味では、フクヅカさん間違いなく本物です。気の遠くなるような細やかな仕事、難易度の高い技術などとともに、産地の方々やネタへの想いが作品として見事に昇華されています。全品がスペシャリテ、迷わずゴールデンブザーな名店です。

It’s pretty cute little town with cute streets.. but at the same time everything felt very tight and not fancy enough for the price I am paying. I am sure everything was fresh but couldn’t taste that much of umami, and as others were saying I didn’t like the hot rice as sushi either. Also half or more than half of the course was more of sashimi than sushi, probably not too fulling but also gives you feeling like there’s something missing. The monaca was very nice how he freshly made in front of you and this young owner was very kind and understanding for two foreigner trying to figure things out (being late and etc) We were only two customers in entire place and I think that’s how he runs the place due to covid now days, otherwise it would feel very tight and very uncomfortable. Thanks the owner for his kindness but for the price and all, I don’t think I will go back or recommend the place for others.

A very intimate dining experience with only 6 counter top seats. Dined with two coworkers who’s first time at a nice sushi restaurant. Great edomae sushi presentation and overall experience. Fukuzuka-San was very patient explaining each bite. Good for English speaking diners. Left feeling amazed and satisfied. Also, it’s so nice dining in a quiet restaurant for a change. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Tokyo, and my coworkers are already planning their next visits to Fukuzuka.

So, I had the pleasure of a 2.5h omakase with a master sushi chef. That, I've done before, but the trick yesterday was that I was the only diner. It was booked in advance and was the best sushi experience of my life. Not only the 19 courses of wonderful sashimi, nigiri, and one maki, but also the fact that this master explained every one of his decisions - the temperature of each piece of fish, which part of the fish was the source, the temperature of the rice used for that fish, the different vinegars used with the rice for that fish, etc. We relied on his limited English and my highly limited Japanese to communicate, until he brought out this neat little device that would translate everything each of us said. I want one of those, now. It allowed us to go from barely communicating to laughing, telling jokes, and enlivening the whole event. In Japanese, edomae, as in edomae sushi, means in front of (Tokyo) Bay and dates to the early 1800s. Here, each intricacy and detail of chef Fukuzuka's edomae susi was optimized, amplified and explained in front of me. I've detailed each photo with what Fukuzuka-san was doing on that course or step. I hope you like the pics and excuse that I am posting these same pics in Instagram. This place is difficult to find and feels almost like you are climbing the stairs to someone's home, but the seven seat restaurant is as clean, pristine, and refined as it gets in the world of sushi. I highly recommend a visit if you are in Tokyo. Bookable on OpenTable or directly.

Outstanding experience with the greatest Japanese ingredients sourced by the chef.
