For over 37 years, Sushi Den has been regarded as one of the premiere sushi and Japanese restaurants in the United States. Located in the historic Old South Pearl St. neighborhood in the heart of Denver, CO, the restaurant delivers consistently excellent cuisine made from the finest ingredients from around the world.

Master Chef Toshi Kizaki, the visionary behind Sushi Den, continually raises the bar & sets the standard for the restaurant’s high quality cuisine. Youngest brother, Koichi, lives in southern Japan where he makes daily trips to the fish market to purchase fish for the restaurant. The fish is dry iced and reaches the restaurant within 24 hours. Sushi Den’s mission is to maintain one of the nation’s top sushi restaurants through fresh ingredients, innovative, healthy dishes and exceptional service.

We utilize available seating at both Izakaya Den, our sister restaurant next door, and Sushi Den for all reservations through the Sushi Den portal on Open Table.

Our favorite restaurant in Denver. Never disappoints! Sushi always fresh and perfectly prepared. Service great. We always ask for upstairs at Izakaya. Combining the two restaurants is confusing for new guests.

We actually dined at Izakaya Den which is part of Sushi Den on a quiet Sunday night. We had great service from reception to our waiter who was present but not obtrusive. He had great recommendations and the food was perhaps the best quality sushi I have had in 20 years, truly exceptional preparation and presentation. The paired Sake was also very good. I could not have hoped for a better experience, perhaps except for the female guests next to us complaining about their social life the entire time. I have had a lot of sushi at many restaurants, including Sushi Den, but it was nice to see that if anything the cuisine was better than ever. Absolutely would recommend.

Food is crazy good. This is our third time and it is so good each time. Typically we are sat in the upstairs section, this time we sat downstairs and it was not nearly as nice from an ambiance perspective. It felt more crowded and not as intimate. That said there is no better sushi. Get the “new style” sashimi (not on the menu). Cocktails are also off the charts. Please don’t go it’s hard enough to get a reservation without more fans- lol.

Best Japanese food I’ve had this side of the Pacific. Excellent service - Sarah was super attentive without being intrusive. And the ambience exceeded expectations- a real bamboo grove, exquisite decor and mood lighting made for a relaxing and enjoyable evening.

The food was good but the whole wait in line when you have a reservation is ridiculous. Plus you can’t choose izakaya and it’s the luck of the draw. No one does this. More hassle than it’s worth.

We waited years because or rumor, no reservations, we went to web site for info and found reservation ability. The reservation process was easy. We have set up more now. I have been eating Sushi for over 40 years. The quality of food was stellar. The service was knowledgeable and grasped our interest resulting in suggestions We were excited to try.

I always love Sushi Den. Our waiter this time was / appeared to be a bit scattered, though. We had to remind him a few times of some things we ordered. Overall, though, food is bomber, drinks are tasty, prices are high...but it's sushi...amazing sushi, so be prepared. Get the Red Dragon Roll, Spicy Crispy Tuna, and the Wagyu Roll.

Came for my birthday dinner and left with the deepest desire to come back! From start to finish, our service was outstanding and my wife says the Poki roll took her right back to Okinawa. Absolutely coming back next month for our anniversary!

Have not been here for close to 10 years. Wow, wonderful dining experience. Still a Denver institution!! We don’t go out much since the pandemic, and this was worth it. Everything was delicious. Woke up the next morning reminiscing about how good our meal was…. We will be back very soon!!
