Youngest brother, Koichi, lives in southern Japan where he makes daily trips to the fish market to purchase fish for the restaurant. The fish is dry iced and reaches the restaurant within 24 hours. It was a little loud but the food and service definitely made up for the noise ,the food was amazing,I will probably have to save up to go there again it was quite expensive but well worth the cost,I will be back just not a weekly visit !

I've been coming to Sushi Den and Izakaya Den (same owner) for 12 years, I eat here at least once a month, and I will tell you that I have not once had bad food sent to my table. Everything has been perfect every time. They really take pride in keeping the highest and freshest quality food, especially every single cut of fish no matter what kind. Melts in your mouth! Service is hit or miss, I have had some really "unprofessional" server before but our server today was great. I don't know her name but she is Asian from Indonesia, she was very polite and gave us a wonderful service.

Atmosphere was incredible. Took my girl out and we sat at the upstairs bar. I don’t drink but sitting at a bar makes you feel like you should order something for the bartenders. They were very nonchalant, we ordered food and the bar back offered to make me a mock tail. Told her I liked sweet and she came out with a blackberry drink that was incredible. 10/10 recommend Sushi Den

My husband and I went for a casual dinner to celebrate his birthday. Having been to SushiDen and it’s sister restaurants many many times, the experience last night was surprisingly poor. Our orders were frequently wrong. Minor: we ordered vegetable tempura but received mixed tempura with shipping and squid, could be an honest mistake so never mentioned it to our server. Major: we ordered sashimi presentation of the special Japanese fish on the menu and we received nigiri presentation instead. Since I wanted to only taste the finest fish without rice, I did ask the server this time to kindly fix the order. He came back within three minutes with sashimi presentation of the same fish, which I’m guessing was merely taken off the warm rice and placed on our plate, and it was gross! The sashimi was warm and the warmth gave it a terrible texture, especially given the high quality of fish that was being served. I do not expect this of sushi den, truly a spoiler for any dinner, especially a special one.

Sushi Den has been a Denver landmark now for decades and continues to be one of the best dining experiences in the city. The consistency of food quality over the years is amazing, as is their commitment to providing great customer service. Sushi Den's welcoming atmosphere is fun and energetic, and at the same time you can find a nice corner to have an intimate dinner with someone special. I love Sushi Den and will continue to come back year after year!

Not so impressed with the new reservation system. I prefer the old system when you made a reservation at Sushi Den and you went to Sushi Den. I think the tables at Izakaya Den are too close together and I preferred it when it was a more casual, grab a drink place and Sushi Den was a better ambiance. The service was just average. Food is always top notch - and so are the cocktails and drinks. This is the reason we will continue to come back again and again.

We decided to splurge and order “omakase,” allowing the chef to take the lead in what became a fabulous dining adventure. We even took our server’s suggestions on some options, such as not adding soy sauce to our food. He was very knowledgeable about each dish he served, as well as pleasant and friendly. The place was a little noisier than we would have preferred, but understandably so due to its popularity.

Took a while for our main course food to come out. We ordered 6-7 kinds of nigiri sushi and also a roll. The nigiri took maybe 20 minutes to come out, and the rolls came out another 20 minutes after that - after we were done with the nigiri. We have been coming to Sushi Den for 20 years and will continue to visit. The food is top notch, so these feedback maybe a little bit picky.

For starters, we got spicy tuna crispy rice and Gyoza. The crispy rice was as good as usual with a very interesting, sweet, and spicy effect with the tuna and sauce 8/10 the Gyoza was honestly not my favorite. They were very oily, and the feeling was mid. It almost felt like they put in their old vegetables as the filling. 3/10. Now, on to the stars: SUSHI! With plate one (from left to right in first picture) we opted for the black snapper and fatty tuna. The red snapper was not something we would’ve tried, but it caught my eye. We were surprised at how tasty it was! It was light, delicate, and fresh. The fatty tuna had a dense and deeper flavor simply melting away in your mouth! Moving onto round two (we were told to eat this dish from right to left) we had the king salmon, seared black snapper, and a seared variation of the fatty tuna. The king salmon was impeccable, something between the red snapper and fatty tuna from the dish prior. The black snapper was seared and had this light smoky flavor to it, but had the same elements as the snapper from before. The seared fatty tuna had a deeper smoky flavor really rounding out the night perfectly! So it wouldn’t go for the seared ones alone they complemented the raw fish really well. Instead of rating, I will rank them instead. 1) salmon 2) red snapper 3) black snapper 4) fatty tune 5) seared fatty tuna. SOME OF THE BEST SUSHI!!

Beautiful place and by far the best Sushi in Denver! Went on a date and we got seated next to a 10 person business meeting in the room by the windows. Very drunk and loud. It is a beautiful restaurant except for those 10 tables that looks like every other place in the city. Food and drinks are well worth the price!

We went with a group of 4 for my fiancé’s birthday. Our waitress was awful. Some sushi was below par for sure. I couldn’t eat the Spider roll I ordered because it was very tough and burnt on the inside with the tempura. Had to send that back. Then after waiting about 25 min for my other sushi roll, it was served at room temp like it had been out for a long time. I sent that back because I’m not eating warm sushi. When it’s supposed to be kept at a colder temp. I mean come on it’s raw fish. One side of our table ordered an extra side of eel sauce and spicy mayo. We ordered only a side of eel sauce. No mayo. The waitress brought both for us and charged us when we didn’t ask for it. THEN we had told told the waitress 3 separate times that we wanted desert. After waiting for about 25min for it she come back around with the check and we asked where the desert was. She played dumb and said, “oh you wanted desert?”. So we said to just forget it! Don’t waist your time here. Very poor service. Very disappointed.
